Hey Kenzo helpful baker tips here! The reason it seems like you used a lot of sugar is because you did! Liquid measuring cups and dry measuring cups aren’t the same and it appears you used one designed for measuring out liquid cups which is a totally different weight and measurement than dry cups. If it has a handle and a pour spout typically it’s a liquid measuring cup. If you’re ever unsure, use a scale and go by weight. Hope this helps in the future!! :)

2 cups of flour/1tbsp baking powder/ 1 tsp baking soda /pinch of salt. For wet ingredients. Mix butter, sugars and eggs / milk. Bake for 45 to an hour for 350 degrees

Also baking is more exact. It’s fun to experiment but with baking it’s best to go with the recipe or risk it not turning out as intended, especially if you change the leavening agent (baking soda/powder).
