I saw HOP at this little bar in Dedham Massachusetts, bought the shamrock logo sticker and stuck it to the back of my 94 Tercel- From then on my car was known by all as "the house of pain". I've always loved H.O.P. Then La Coka "A Brand You Can Trust" litterally re-introduced me to hip-hop years later, and a whole new crew of old-school underground rappers whom i still listen to today. D-Boy, Everlast and Lethal played a giant role in building my love for hiphop. Good on ya Danny Boy!🤘

You just can’t imagine how young these guys were in house of pain overnight millionaires and stars, must have some crazy stories! Great interview, always wanted to meet Danny, what a hell of a story he had to tell

Celtic Frost is extreme metal. Danny Boy should be commended for how far he's come along. I love success stories like this brother!

This was an epic interview. Amazing journey he has lived and it is great story that his sobriety is keeping him grounded and allowing the freedom to pour himself into another passion. Grew up with and always loved the House of Pain, I have every album they put out, as well as all of the La Coka Nostra albums.

Danny Boy is really cool. I met him back in 2010 in Dallas, Texas when the House of Pain did a reunion tour. I still have the photo. Much Respect Danny. I wanna go to the Outsiders home!

JUDGMENT NIGHT! We loved that album back then... it was like the natural progression from bands like House of Pain to these crossover tracks.

Great interview, It's nice to see him doing great things. I witnessed Danny on the first song jump off stage and break his ankle. I believe it was their first show on their tour in Providence RI at the Strand thearter. Everlast struggle to finish the show in his own but it was awesome. I believe Scottie Ian jumped in and help finish the tour

Yo! I was at that show. A few years later my band Dropsession would play the Strand several times. Shout out to the 90s!

I could listen to Danny for hours. The guy is ridiculously insightful. Some of the phrases he uses even in passing make me stop and reflect; re: “the big hurt” for example.
The people that get to know him personally are a lucky group.

The Outsiders book and movie is something that always resonated with me and it’s hard for a book to really grab me like that. Because of that, the Outsiders holds a special place in my heart, my 7th grade son is literally reading it now, in school. We definitely plan to make the trip to Tulsa from Minneapolis , someday. Also - Scott, now you need to get Everlast on, round out the House of Pain, or at least Ill Bill of Non-Phixion/La Coka Nostra - he’s big on metal too.

Huge H.O.P. fan. Talking about how old you were when things came out, I was 15 when the first album dropped so it was perfect timing for me. I just have to say, even though I know it all worked out, I have never been more sad then when Danny said he hadn't talked to Everlast in a decade. WTF.

Really good interview. I was a huge House of Pain fan back in the day. First album was a classic but I probably like the second one better. I hope him and Everlast are at least cool with each other these days. Funny story about Everlast shoving the dude off the tour bus, I wonder why he didn’t like the Beasties lol. Jack White seems like a cool dude too. Glad Danny is doing better, even though E was the main guy I always loved Danny’s parts in HOP songs. I’m assuming he did the House of Pain artwork which was always awesome.

What I've read is that Everlast thought of the Beastie's as Rhymers and not true MC's and Everlast looked up to people he considered true MC's in every aspect. D did do all the HOP logos.

I think the rapper he couldn’t remember the name of was “Optimus” and the other guy besides Slaine was “Big Left”…Big Left stuck around with La Coka for a little bit after iLL BiLL and Everlast joined but ultimately left the group but I think Optimus was out of the picture before they came around

Seen probably a dozen plus interviews with Everlast but I truly enjoyed this one best.
Danny seems legit and could've seen myself hanging out with him when I worked at Tower Records back in the day.
