Good on Hal for managing a safe landing after a catastrophic engine failure, but to be honest, I'm not surprised that the engine failed. The Zipper and Edge Performance aftermarket pistons have an inferior piston skirt design that's known to cause connecting rod failures. VZPower, with their turbo kits, changed their piston design in 2018 and I assume that this is the reason why. It's also worth noting that that the FlyGas supercharger kit uses a spacer for the cylinder to reuse the OEM piston, instead of an aftermarket unit. Admittedly you don't kit the weight savings of the billet cylinders from Zipper or Edge, but it should make for a more reliable installation.
I really like Hal he always has a wonderful demeanor! I would love to have a conversation with him on his life experiences! I'm glad you 2 are safe and having a great time!

Admittedly you don't kit the weight savings of the billet cylinders from Zipper or Edge, but it should make for a more reliable installation.
id be going to 7500 ft and get out of that heat..safer too
I really like Hal he always has a wonderful demeanor! I would love to have a conversation with him on his life experiences! I'm glad you 2 are safe and having a great time!
It's a wonder Hal didn't pull out a couple weed wacker engines and keep going.
