I was motivated to learn max for live until u showed all the calculations. Goddamn, u got the hang of it and still make simple devices, I mean not inside. But making an diva synth alternate in this would probably be pain. I really want to learn max for live so I’ll have to use A i
I just wish it worked a bit more like the grid in bitwig I hate bitwig but the grid is cool. I think all it would take for max would be to release modules that nerds can reconstruct and newbs can connect together. I would love that ❤❤❤❤
I mean, it looks intimidating but when you break it all down into smaller bits, it becomes much easier. I'll make a small subpatch to do a little task, then put that subpatch inside another subpatch which does a bigger task and so on. Making a synth would be similar. First you'd start with an oscillator. Then you need a way to control the pitch, so you wire up a little subpatch to convert midi notes into pitch. Then you need a way to control the volume of the oscillator so you would wire up a subpatch which takes 4 inputs (ADSR) and converts them into a volume shape. It's mostly a test of your problem solving skills. I learned Max by myself just by reading the help files and googling stuff. And I'm just a DJ. You can do it too.
@@kriss12loverap Btw, Max 9 which just came out, is amazing and it basically does what you're talking about. It introduces a set of new objects which are basically all the stock Ableton devices as max objects. It's super modular and it definitely makes things a bit more noob friendly, because rather than creating a reverb from scratch for the FX section of your synth, you can just use the abl.device.reverb~ object. Check it out. cycling74.com/products/max-9
Am I the only one who finds this stuff super interesting? 🤣Let me know if you want to see more videos like this!
Not at all! Would love to hear more of your tips on Max devices!
This is sweet! More please 🎉 🙏🏻
More please!!
Great pace and depth, for me at least, and showing the workings of a real non-trivial device is the way to go. Thanks.
Nice Content Bro 👌👊
Cool

Like all the modules in bitwig
There are modules in Max you can tweak. I love bitwig and the grid but Max can do much more.
