For me, the main drawback isn't the price. It's that you can't also adjust the haptic feedback yet, and also that it isn't ergonomic. I would spend the money in a heartbeat if one keyboard could bring that all together.
It is only $199 hardly going to dent the wallet, is it? I brought a premium keyboard years ago and have never regretted it, so if you can afford it then why not treat yourself?

They need to make a tkl hybrid, where you can remove the num pad with ease, similar to ROLI blocks. This is a million dollar idea, now someone make it happen
Deja Vu, but the Wooting One/Two has the main selling feature of this board, the variable actuation force and much more. Plus the software is better and it's cheaper.

@@GareWorks Well...saying overpriced is a joke...there are keyboards who are just plain keyboards and cost even 1000$ because they're hand manufactured with hand mounted switches...but at the end of the day they're still plain keyboards with the same rated durability of a 79$ keyboard with MX Red switches. Would you still call them overpriced? My observation would be: it's not necessary, considering the price. But for the "far better keyboards" I have to resent, there are worse keyboards for the price and design and exclusivity are something you have to pay for.

It has a really good software and lets you configure multiple keystrokes at once (check out the review of HardwareCanucks for more info) and every single switch is hot-swappable. It has been elected as the best gaming keyboard of 2018 from many communities, also you can choose between linear and tactile switches. Another good one is the Glorious GMKK...simple, durable, you can choose whatever switch you want and change them in the future because they're hot-swappable as well. I'll buy this one, btw...I am a SteelSeries user since 2011 and I've never had a software issue or a faulty item. Everything I buy from them lasts between 5 and 7 years and I owned: 7g, 7H-USB, the original Sensei, Flux Luxury Edition, several QCKs, Kinzu mouse and now I own a Rival 600, Rival 650, Apex M750, Arctis 3, Arctis Pro + GameDAC. I am planning on using the Apex M750 and one of the Rival at work...and to buy a Stratus Duo as soon as it gets discounted. I honestly like the design and the feel of these products...and the company is based in Denmark (which for me is a plus, because I like European design). However, I totally understand if someone doesn't like them because nothing is universally good for everyone, but to question the objective quality of certain type of products feels a bit excessive from my point of view.

doesn't seem that they are going to allow analog input. looks only like you change the actuation distance. really it just seems like a more expensive, but worse version of the Wooting One
I just got this in 2022, the keyboard is still amazing. All apex pro comes with the omnipoint actuation, everything is really great about it, and comfortable as well. I also bought the black prism caps that steelseries sells but they have yet to arrive, so I am not sure how they are, but they keys are not bad at all, I just like how the prism keys look. (edit: I would wait for this keyboard to go on sale. I bought one from amazon as refurbished but in a like new state. It is literally just a new keyboard but in a plain cardboard box, so if the box is not important to you, I would highly recommend this, as it is somewhat cheaper than buying a new board.)
@@h4m2_ They're very much how the pictures and videos display them. Super illuminating and colorful. The feel of the plastic is also different. I believe the prism caps are of higher quality. The caps have more grip, but are still very solid plastic. I think if you want the keyboard at its peak, get the prism caps, but if you do not need the extra rgb and key feel, the stock keys are just fine.
Even just the ability to set up all the keys to be a sensitive actuation point, and have things like the caps lock, windows key, and escape key be a much deeper actuation would be so nice while using my computer. If you press the caps lock, by accident, as far as you would press the A key, the caps lock wouldn't activate! How nice would that be???
I'm looking for a keyboard that I can mainly do gaming with, but also do school work, typing, etc. with. does this keyboard work for that? it looks like it's perfect for that but I'm not sure.
I like the little OLED display. Not a fan of those keycaps but mainstream keycaps are usually nasty anyway. Still not sold on the switches, and I wish (as someone else has already mentioned) that the Apex 7 had a Gateron Yellow switch option.
With adjusting the actuation distance they also have a lower actuation time at 0.7ms to register the click unlike pretty much every other gaming keyboard at 6-8ms
@@Mynetrix But nobody wants actuation lowered that much else you're actuating the switches by brushing against your keycaps. I think it's an interesting idea but ultimately not that useful, especially at the price. Better to buy some switch testers, find switches you like, then buy or build a keyboard with those switches instead.

Hey this might sound crazy, but I just got the red linear Apex 7 tkl, and had coil whine from the OLED screen only when I put my ear near it. Is it normal to get that at all on a keyboard? Only asking since I've NEVER heard of something like that. Not sure if its related but my gpu has whine as well.

I'm fairly confident that making a version without any lighting or special features besides the switch at all wouldn't sell that much. I mean, just buy the normal version and turn off the lighting and whatnot.

Putting the screen on the right places it closer to you if you are a gamer. Most gamers place thier keyboards farther to the left and slightly tilted when gaming. If they were to place the screen near the ESC button it would be much further away from you. Where it is placed now almost puts it in front of you when gaming.

Price is 229Eur in Europe - much more expensive than in USA, unfortunatly. Will order one anyway - it's finally time to retire my beloved Corsair K95. It have served me well over the last 6+ years, but unfortunatly infamous backlight on that keyboard is dying key-by-key, and less than a half of the keys are lit anymore.

Lol just bought one of these like 30 mins ago from bestBuy+, the actuation customization is AMAZINGGGGG-- less errors Ohhhh myyy Gaahhhddd i am typing on them right nowww Lmaoo Love thisss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! feels amazinggggg, the keys are a finger print eliminator. my hands are oily but they do not register finger prints. like gahd damn this shit is premium Afffffffff!!!! Ohh my gahd the wrist rest is amazing. and you can flip it to use the higher side if u like. The keys are a joy to tap on-- i love that typewriter feel, love having to bottom-out before it registers. I also love the kick back too, like when u hit the keys it bounces right back SO FAST and kisses ur fingers lol. i swear man, u want these!!!! i made my actuation point at 10 or 3.6 as opposed to 1 or 0.5 and shit. i hate light keys.. i kinda wish the force required was 60gF as opposed to 45gF but whatever who cares Lol.
I like the looks and the LCD, I dont like the switches as I have no need for that at all... take the switches away and make the keyboard $120 and you got yourself a winner of a keyboard.

no dedicated macro keys :( i have an apex and i cant give up all these extra keys they spoiled me with. give us 10 at least if u cant do the full 22

Lol just bought one of these like 30 mins ago from bestBuy+, the actuation customization is AMAZINGGGGG-- less errors Ohhhh myyy Gaahhhddd i am typing on them right nowww Lmaoo Love thisss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! feels amazinggggg, the keys are a finger print eliminator. my hands are oily but they do not register finger prints. like gahd damn this shit is premium Afffffffff!!!!
Ohh my gahd the wrist rest is amazing. and you can flip it to use the higher side if u like.
The keys are a joy to tap on-- i love that typewriter feel, love having to bottom-out before it registers. I also love the kick back too, like when u hit the keys it bounces right back SO FAST and kisses ur fingers lol. i swear man, u want these!!!! i made my actuation point at 10 or 3.6 as opposed to 1 or 0.5 and shit. i hate light keys..
i kinda wish the force required was 60gF as opposed to 45gF but whatever who cares Lol.

I like the looks and the LCD, I dont like the switches as I have no need for that at all... take the switches away and make the keyboard $120 and you got yourself a winner of a keyboard.
