Excited to announce that I have had the great honour of curating the next instalment of the acclaimed DJ-Kicks series. The mix is tied together by the theme ‘Always Ascending’, and is filled with new tracks from friends and heroes.
The first single is an original by myself called ZiGGY and one I’ve been playing all summer. It’s a percussive, heavy, psychedelic, techno track that is named after my dear friend Jono ma’s chicken in Byron Bay.
ZiGGY sadly lost her best (and only ) friend to a 3m python one night and so was moved inside to the studio. She was roosting on top of a gong in the studio the day we were recording, a v special afternoon in the bush spent running different parts of the track through Jono’s machines.
Jono Ma has been a close friend of mine for many years (in fact he taught me to use cdjs and encouraged me to become a better vinyl dj back when I was at Ridley road market bar) and he helped with production on this record ❤️
