i tried this, got a close thing but i dont have all those pedals and shit he has but the way he explained is good! i dont get why people hate on them so much, just cause theyre more accomplished than you? thats called hard work and perseveration
If you hate this guy why do you look at his videos. He is obviously a highly disaplined and acomplished guitarist when you hear him play written parts with the other guitarist in his group. He also seems friendly and wants to share what he knows about playing guitar
i don't critisize guitar players.......instead i listen to all of them whatever the color of skin is ,..they don't harm me?.....actually im learning from them!!!!....RESPECT!
made by ibanez but it isnt an Edge, its a ZR trem. Uses ball bearings instead of knife edges so its very smooth, and has more springs in the back going in a different direction to an edge so its got very little resistance. It also holds tune should you break a string which an eddge wont do.
i push da ba dawn and poo the ba ap.........my string snaps. thanks for the good advice herman. i like dragonforce and shredding but not a fan of broken strings lol
I agree with musicaddict Dimebag's squeals are better..since he practically (practically, he wasn't the first) introduced squeals to metal. And by that I mean that he uses them the best in his music. There's a reason they're also called Dime Squeals. And Dime also shows you how to get that sound without picking the string. Simply flick it with your finger and lightly place your finger on one of the harmonic frets and BAM! Dime Squeal! A lot easier than picking it... but Herman's still great.
Very similar to Dimebag's harmonic squeals except you don't have to use your pick, and it's at a different point on the neck - easier and clearer Dime's way IMO.
not quite, dime does a dive with the whammy bar while simultaneously doing a pull off with his fretting hand and taps lightly on the fret to get a harmonic, then he just raises it to pitch with the whammy. Herman does a pinch harmonic from what i can tell. just look up "dime squeal" for a better explanation.
a natural Harmonic is done by slightly touching the String in the right division..it means lightly touching the String above the 12th Fret divides the String in half an you hear the octave...at the 7 String it divides the String in 3rds and you hear the 2nd octave and so on... Piched Harmonics are done with the Pic and the Thumb of your Picking Hand...it`s hard to explain, but you can divide the String relative to the Note you are fretting...needs a bit of practise
wow i really enjoy his lessons. he is very straight forward and to the point. teach more please!
this guy is awsome no matter what any of you guys say. don't reply to this message saying im an idiot just because i like him. He's damn good

Yes,every S-Series have a ZR bridge.(Except Herman's signiature models).
he sounds so amazed.."i pick it!"
actually he does both often...and he is great at both techniques
he was so happy when he remembered the phrase "neutral point" lol)))
cool
nice
yes. yes it is.
i don't critisize guitar players.......instead i listen to all of them whatever the color of skin is ,..they don't harm me?.....actually im learning from them!!!!....RESPECT!
"You push the bar down and the strings get floppy, which is good, and as it goes up I pick it ready as it goes up, I pick...uh pick it." XD
People think that he adds all these sound efffects in studio, but he makes them on his guitar like so. ^^^
wooow is the best of the world
aaaaleluyaaa¡¡
gotta love his accent =D
yabadaba bar dawn!
Go Studioforce!
i actually like the trem on the s series...u can adjust the spring tention without taking the whole backplate off
Keren
0:19 i like to push dabadah! i stop dabadah!

thats the dime squeal and you better not take that away!!!!!!!!
Yes its Very Necessary to have the Floyd-Rose Floating Bridge system.
very crazy
Being fast doesn't make you a good musician, but it doesn't hurt :P
It depends on what guitar you have. I had a Fender Strat and it did break
agree :P
as guitar shredder said, depends what kinda guitar you have, Some dean and mostly all of Ibanez are perfect for Natural Harmonics.
i push da ba dawn and poo the ba ap.........my string snaps. thanks for the good advice herman. i like dragonforce and shredding but not a fan of broken strings lol
"Oooh, lovely"
Very parody worthy...
damn it that sounded like some alien abduction
Hermen ree from dragon fort, Madonna dancing
I...I..pick!
Exactly..I bet there are tens of thousands of people with this setup..whatever works for you.
@barrychapman he is amazing how do you think he sucks??
"Herro please! Tell yo friends Herman Li is cool or else I shit on yo head!"
wow i wanna see him make it squeal without a wammy bar btw i do like dragonforce they are brilliant guitarists
Ye I need to move my bridge a wee bit..
his old ones use the original edge, later models use the ZR,and the gen use the edge zero with a custom setup.
you push the baaahhh daaahhhhh lool
OOH lovely LOL XD
Herman Li always makes me laugh.
the solos are nearly thesame too :p and yes they just randomly mix their previous lyrics if they make a new song
He uses the S470 but he uses a custom build. they moulded parts of his guitar on him. i think its an E something something
do you need a floyd rose and humbuckers
or can you do it on a strat
"pushdabawdawn" Haha...funny!
asi es, williamgag tienes toda la razon, al igual que Vai, si se fijan tienen mucha similitud solo que como tu lo dices herman es mucho mas veloz.
hes not THE fastest, but one of the fastest. Hes my favorite though, he has great style ;)
haha truee~!
@ShittakeBukakke i start with bar down and as you hit middle part i scrape hand across string lmao.
@Zappelphillip666 LMAO...speechless
I know his accent is funny
but he's doing well on this technique
its the london tinge thats offensive.
haha it's ok.once to learn to play the guitar you'll know! it's a sweet techinque!
wow ur awesome u know it? haha banzai!
I lift my guitar up by the whammy bar........ oh God
lmao...i can so imagine that
like divebomb

"push tha baw daw"
@TrashMojo Dimebag Squeelin' lesson XD
Right on!!!!!!!!!!
yeah, i guess your right
The RG350DX has a Edge III. It goes about as high as the official Floyd Rose does, if you have it set up correctly :)
ooh, ruvry
I love his accent hehe. PROPER CHINGLISH hehe x
i have the same bridge as that

It really depends on your tremello.
actually EVH also did this kinda stuff too. i agree with u though
is that the zero resistance tremolo system
Very similar to Dimebag's harmonic squeals except you don't have to use your pick, and it's at a different point on the neck - easier and clearer Dime's way IMO.
when you hold a natural harmonic and take your finger off..it lets the harmonic ring out..and then you can pull up on the tremolo..(whammy bar).
does he have a custom guitar to be able to do that
i love when people say goof but its true :)
lol @ the description of video.
no you can do that with just about any guitar and a tremolo. my friend did it and he only has a squier strat and a whammy pedal(he broke the bar)
haha, thanks for not offending me!
I dream to raise my Floyd Rose that high :P
not quite, dime does a dive with the whammy bar while simultaneously doing a pull off with his fretting hand and taps lightly on the fret to get a harmonic, then he just raises it to pitch with the whammy. Herman does a pinch harmonic from what i can tell. just look up "dime squeal" for a better explanation.
i like to push the bar down, i start the bar down, push the bar down. lol
i lie to poo the bar darn!
What's the guitar finish called?
pioa xi!
