Great information on Computer information systems I want to pursue a career in that IT course Computer information systems.
Thank you, if you don't mind me asking, what's stopping you?
I start my COMPTIA ITF AND COMPTIA A+ January one at CIAT I’m nervous and excited
I'm sure you did great. Continue to strive to your full potential
I’m leaving for the navy on May 9th for IT !
But ik i want to come out after 4 years to make more money out here
I want to work towards a degree while i’m serving and i’m considering CIS
what do you think? and do you think doing IT in the navy will help me
I have a question for you how did you go from CIS to IT? I want to be a systems analyst and even though I told my counselors about this they advised me wrong. The general counselor told me to do CIS and then transfer to a 4 year, another counselor to switch my major to Buisness Administration and then transfer to a 4 year. I am set to graduate next year in the spring in Buisness Administration. I didn't know only 2 public universities offer BS in IT in Southern California. UCLA and Dominguez Hills. I told another counselor and he said that it is too late. He said that there's no way that I can transfer my credits in BA to UCLA or Dominguez. IT is a Computer Science major not a Buisness major, so they won't accept it. He said I should finish my associates for transfer in BA. And that perhaps I could get a Masters degree in an IT related degree. I don't know much about masters degree, but that doesn't sound right to me. Either way, I don't want to wait to get into IT until I get a Masters degree. Please help I am very frustrated and confused.
In the beginning, was business administration your desired degree goal? The reason why I’m asking is that, that degree will be hard to transition into I.T. What most people do, they invest two years in CIS or I. T for an associate's degree and finish up the other two years ITM or MIS both are upper for IT. So to me, you were advised wrong if you were told to do that. You should have started in IT at the beginning. Only your common core and perhaps about 3-4 curriculums course credits you will be able to transfer. Such as BU 101, Accountant, economics, statistics, or business math. Things may change but look into it. If you need further assistance and guidance, let me know!
@@Camillethompsontech Thank you very much for your reply. I never wanted to get into BA but they reassured me I should switch from CIS to BA. Unfortunately, I followed their advice blindly. I just hope this didn't set me back too much. I have felt burnout because of this and even considering giving up on this goal all together. But your help has definitely motivated me, I'll renew my efforts and listen to good advice this time. Thank you very much once again.
You're very welcome. Wishing you all the best in your career 💪🏽
Great information.
Thank you ✨🌻
Uh well I'm terrible at maths and i wanted to know if like is there a lot of maths included in it and how much I've to learn
Otherwise from your common core that may include math such as algebra, trigonometry, I believe Business Math is one will requires for CIS degree.
I want to do it but my college classes are just so hard
Which course are you struggling with?
There's an information systems program at a community college I'm interested in but it isn't titled as computer information systems. Are they the same thing? Also would an associate's degree in applied science in information systems be good enough to find a job?
Yes, they are the same. Each Institute title it differently but if you look at the course description, they are all the same. And yes, you can find a job with that degree
@@Camillethompsontech Thanks
hey there! what math is usually involved with a CIS diploma?
Not sure for the diploma, but for the degree, Algebra, Trigonometry, Business Math. However, things may change over time. Go to the colleges website to verify. Thanks for watching. Best of luck and future endeavors
Do you have to do a lot of math for C.I.S ?
Not a lot of math
Damn. I’m terrible at math.
Anything math is a being nope for me..
Guess this is why I hold myself back from going back to school 🤦🏽♂️
@@mikeoxmaul9675math is easy bro
Just start with basic
i wanted todo sience in information technology
You should go for it
did you work full time while pursuing this major
No part-time, it was too intense 😬
Is it hard?
In my opinion, I found statistic, accounting, programming and economics to be hard. But studying consistently, I passed them all with a B+, you can do it! Thanks for watching
🇯🇲?
Yes yes 😊
