Lee Roy Jordan, Chuck Howley, Bob Lily, Coach Landry, I almost get chills just hearing those names again. All the millions of Cowboy fans in their mid to late 40's and up, know and revere these magnificent people. We haven't forgotten you men. Year after year Dallas (Tex) found phenomenal talent that most others overlooked. I'm still not over the way Coach Tom Landry was treated, never will be, but I still love the Cowboys.
hell,i'm 21 years old,and i know how much those players meant to the team's success and the fans,i just wish i got a chance to watch them play live instead of watching old games,i would have loved to see them in action...
I went to college at James Madison with Haley for a couple of years. Haley was not that big a guy in college and mostly played OLB, but dear God was he fast. Think that he was playing on a lousy I-AA team (we were mostly around .500 every year) and you can understand what a man among boys he was. I honestly never thought he would become the star he did in the NFL, especially at defensive end and not OLB.
Being a Redskins fan, I naturally have to hate all things Cowboys. But those are three very worthy Ring of Honor names right there. I'm actually surprised that Drew Pearson wasn't already honored.
Love these guys! I'm 62 years old. In every sport I ever played I was #88, because I grew up loving to watch Drew Pearson ball out.
