Thanks Scott for sharing the rig and technique, What a game changer!
You’re the greatest teacher of rigging in the history of the planet earth thank you thank you thank you 🙏
Great technique Scott. I love fishing with Flukes, and I've GOT to try this the next time I go fishing. Thanks.
Excellent. This is one of your best how to videos. Thankyou.
Awesome- thank you for the tip. I appreciate the fact that you even showed how to fish the rig.
newbie to lure fishing here. thanks for videos like this, its f****n awesome. especially for newbies like me. love videos like this on how they show how to work the lures. need/want more like this please. will be much appreciated.
Hi zenas chhoeum. Thanks for the feedback and support. We'll certainly make more like these. I look forward to hearing more from you.
Thanks for the tip scot and what a better place to show than at my home lake!
Great tutorial! I fished it yesterday, and got a bite, using a slightly different setup. There was only 1 inch between the 2 flukes. Your setup is better with the wider gap. It gives the bass more time to be enticed by the second lure. Thank you!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Wow, ingenious...cannot wait to try this out in the spring.
Very informative video. Can't wait to try this setup. Thanks Scott.
I remember watching this a while back.
Couldn’t find it now I can reference and build this rig 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Looks like it would be good for bagging doubles on smallies. I’ve had a few times when I’d hook one and another one would give chase while his buddy is on the hook. Thanks for the breakdown on how to fish it. Winter Sucks!
You got that right! Thanks for watching, Jell-O Putin!
excellent explanation, thanks. everytime I use this rig i catch fish.
+gil el gallo You're welcome!
Awesome video. I have just recently started using this setup thanks to seeing this have caught some really good fish on it but I have had better results letting it sink a little before working it back to me. Sometimes they want it worked fast others nice and slow.
Yes, absolutely William VAUGHAN! Thanks for watching!
I caught my first tarpon in a freshwater spillway on double zoom fluke. 20 lb er. south florida c11 griffin canal
A+ Video, can't wait to try this.
Never tried it before but I’m goin to try it Thanks
Have fun
Thanks for the tip! Caught a Giant Walleye on this rig today!
you sir are an excellent teacher..thanks
Just seen this today at a small lake I fish looks great can't wait to try thanks for better explanation
Very good tip to know to catch more fish
I use this method in saltwater! it works wonders!!
it was A to Y awesome lesson and great techniqe, I cant wait to go on water and try it, I think it will be useful in night fishing as well.
Great! Let me know how you do!
love this rig, you can catch hybrid striped bass all day with that. When you get a double hook up, hold onto your rod, bc it will be insane!
Very true!
Tried it and hooked up on the first cast. Great rig.
Irie Prepper, glad I could help. Let me know which tips helped the most. Looking forward to hearing much more from you.
I'm going to have to try this rig for speckled trout also.
I haven't used the rig yet, but I can already tell that its a fish catching machine.
Great tip Scott, thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
ive seen this catch multiple fish...great rig
This rig is awesome, and have used it tons of times. I’ve had success at speed and skips well too
Can't wait to try it!
Glad you liked it Jose Marquez!
Note to those “informed “ comments below - like a Carolina Rig, you cannot tie a double fluke rig that is not lengthy at the rod tip. You have to start off your cast with some lag similar to a fly fisherman. That’s why Scott is using 10# braid (very thin) on a long spinning rod. At least with a Carolina rig you have that heavy sinker to help things on your baitcaster.
Hey Scott, cool, rig up! Will this work for Walleye fishing? Fishing an extremely rocky bottom and have lost way too many jig heads to the rock monster bottom. Seems like a cool set up. Walleye thoughts?
Just tried this today, hooked up with a 9 pound hog.
Nice!!!
That man Scott
Sweet, I'll have to try it.
Hi Scott... When is the best time of year to use the double fluke rig at Lake Murray?
This seems like it would work well with the smaller flukes in high pressure situations
Near lake Marion. I will try this for sure. I need to borrow your boat Scott.
Hai friends nice tips.. Thanks for sharing
Great tip Scott ...I’m just curious how you tied a palomar knot to a swivel that was already tied to your main line
You bend the line and put it thru the eye on a palomar knot
Love this rig!
Great video
Hi, Thanks for sharing, can the bait swim the way it swim under 5 feet of water ?
Have to give it a shot now
Glad to help, RudiTexas. Let me know how it works out as I would love to see the results.
Does this work on trout and in streams too?
Thumbs up for Lake Murray
Looks very effective! How often do you hear someone won the BASS or FLW on this rig? :)
Randy Nunez you can't use it in bass but you can in flw
Fish 365 why not lmao
Would this work with two small (1.5-2") stinger tail minnows for crappie?
Can you weight this rig at all without causing problems?
is there a triple fluke rig
Super excellent congratulation
How is he tying an in-line Palomar knot-can someone direct me to a UA-cam video showing me how? Thanks
You can’t. I had to do it a different way. Tie everything first and put it together last. If that makes sense. It worked out though.
mmiikkeett yeah that’s what I’ve done in the past too but I’m trying to figure out if the Palamar can be reverse engineered so you don’t have to pass the whole leader and hooks through the Palomar loop
I was wondering the same thing but I think he meant to say another knot but said Palomar
I love the theory of the rig ,are you using this for Bass or Flounder? If I use weighted hooks 3/8 oz possible to try for flounder in shallow water will this work or tangle up ?
This is for Bass.
Can I use weighted hooks for this rig?
yup
Is that a M or MH rod? When you set the hook does the line break? I have problems with line breaking with 20 lb braid. Power pro
Braid doesn’t stretch so it will snap at its weakest point. Use a flouro or mono leader and it will give some stretch. Helps a ton.
Would you slow down the retrieve in the Fall season?
Not necessarily. The fish can get very aggressive during the fall. So it's always good to try different speeds to find out what the fish want.
Can you fish that rig in October and November in NC?
Yes, absolutely Brian Christy! Thanks for watching!
Talk about fish catcher. Try pink flukes in muddy water and man do they like it. I simply tie a power shot but instead of weight just another hook, zero issues.
Yes, absolutely @robertgill8833! Thanks for watching!
Scott Martin lives in my town and he goes to my church
Micah Grooms lucky man

I'm jealous...have you met Brandon?
I go rollerskating in a wedding dress.
@@sluggou812beotch who caught the garter?
Silly question ... This rig isn't really for fluke or summer flounder like what we have up here on long Island. It's just the name of the rig, right?
Fluke up here are bottom fish ... Which is what prompted the question. Rick
Yes, it's the name of the lure, not the fish.
You can't tie a palomar knot onto a swivel that is attached to the main line without sending the entire rod and reel through the loop of the knot. Notice the video cut at that point...
MrAdamseye Lol, good catch
TheBushwooky I have done the same thing a few times. For a second I though he had a better way, but no.
***** I know what you mean, and that is why I am glad I don't only Bass fish lol! Ever since I went on my first party boat and watch a mate make a fluke rig with just line, I was hooked on learning more!
Thats why you should tie the leader strings on to the swivel first before tying the swivels onto the main line
I noticed and was wondering how he did it. I fish this and have tied many. Gotta use a different knot in 2 places
i tried this it gets tangled up hard around the main line still like every couple of casts
Which bait is more likely to get bit, front or rear?
Rear
Wouldn't it improve your chances of a second hookup if the free-moving bait was on the longer line? You'll get a straight pull on the hook set on whatever bait they hit first, but if the front bait is tied directly to the main line, there's no possibility that it will slip when trying to hook a second fish. Wouldn't that result in better hooking percentage when a second fish hits the front bait?
How do you tie a palomar onto both sides of a swivel?
Easily?
does a double rig work well with magnum flukes? lol
Especially with 1 super fluke on the main line end.
I've seen this work on walleyes
Wont the two baits get tangled up all the time
Not if you rig it the way shown in the video.
What time of year do you use this rig setup?
Spring through fall
when is it best to use this rig? or how do I know I should use this rig
Jay Chapman when the baitfish are schooling
Is this legal to use in tournaments or is it outlawed like the Alabama rig?
is the double fluke rig legal in california?
Double hook rig is legal. You can use up to three hooks in California.
ah yea i found out a while ago thanks, hmoob yaaj :OOOOOOOO
My problem is I can NEVER find the right hook for a fluke. They always seem to stretch out the plastic and throw off the motion. Totally giving this a try though.
Check out Shure-set Tackle. It’s what I use mine on. I’m no way connected to them in any way just excellent fluke hooks.
3/0 worm hook. Works perfectly.
I do this around docks or wait till I see schooling bass and wait till they strike then throw near them
That’s a good tip as well, rainx21 outdoorsman. Thanks for sharing.
Now put 6 flukes in a row and see what happens
I did 4 and it was a tangled mess
Umbrella rig?
does is need to be a spinning reel
It's not required, but it's easier to throw with a spinning outfit.
Wow
Its like a mine umbrella rig
Isn't this an old video?
R u a NASCAR driver
Adrian Caro what 😂 he’s not
Donkey style✌🏻🎣
I bet he never uses that in competition...
Ain't this just the Donkey rig?
Tou Vang yes
This guy likes him a palomar knot
That action in the water makes me wanna eat them fish
Is this legal in mn?
Braden Holmes probably not on a lake. Maybe on a river.
Too much work Scott.... LOL
Thanks for the headache...
?
good nigga
Been fishing this for 20 years and the flukes shown here are to far apart... I like them to,slightly overlay one another (about an inch) and it looks like they are chasing something together.... they will also roll over each other’s back.. TRUST ME it is dynamite....
That’s a good tip as well, Charles Graham MacLeod Stuart. Thanks for sharing.
Just us an umbrella rig....
This is more like a "finesse" umbrella rig lol
