@gripNslip I disagree, this scene is suppose to highlight the similarities between Vincent and Sonny. I just can’t get over the helicopter in Atlantic City. Like just stupid to throw in an over the top 1980s action sequence. The Godfather always was grounded in the plausible but they jumped the shark with that one bad decision.
There were no action heroes in the first two Godfather films. There were also no warmed over stupid cliches like, "Go ahead and kill the hostage because I'm SO hard, but not really because the audience has to like me." This scene was an immediate tell that the movie would be terrible in comparison to its predecessors. Even as a 15-year-old, I knew it immediately, and wanted to just walk out of the theater. But it was Christmas and I was with family, so I had to sit through it.
The ending was so sad. Karma finally caught up with Michael after the decades of evil deeds he committed. His punishment, seeing his only daughter murdered in front of his own eyes. In the final scene, he dies all alone. Sad and with nothing left to live for. Karma.
Point of order, if you find yourself in a similar situation, consider putting more than one round into them. If the Police are trained to keep shooting until they are sure the threat is neutralized, you should too. One to the dome isn't always enough.
I would've liked to see a Godfather 4 with Vincent as the new head of the Corleone family and how he handled things throughout the 80's & 90's and even early 00's.
Vincent had Sonny's temper and strength and Michael's cool bravado under pressure. The only person in that room who stayed cool and in charge was Vincent. It was a very "Michael" moment.
The Godfather part 3 was a great film. It was well done and a great way to complete the trilogy. I agree that it's the worst of the 3 but think about it, parts 1 and 2 are in the discussion for greatest movies of all-time.
Gold point. GF 3 was « only » a good film, unlike GF1 and GF2, which were masterpieces. But it is still a good film. If you take away Sofia Coppola’s wooden acting (she is a helluva lot better behind the camera than in front of it) and the one scene I think is very cheesy (where Michael names his heir) it is a pretty decent film - it just pales by comparison with the first two.
This movie was suppose to be a stand alone film, not the third part of a "Godfather Trilogy". In fact, when trying to create this film, Hollywood decided to scrap the stand alone idea and make coppola and puzo design the "third" part. Even worse, they had 9 weeks to write this script in comparison to the 9 month duration given for the other 2 films. This movie is bad in comparison to the other 2, but it is a great film if you consider it a stand alone.
Sure is. If Coppola would get the budget and the time, I'm sure this could be just as awesome. Especially if they would give Duvall the money he wanted... He was so missed.
GF3 is the continuing story of Michael Corleone. It can't possibly be considered a stand-alone film. The idea of Michael getting honors from the church and his being remorseful after killing his brother and closing the door in his wife's face was utterly ridiculous. Kay didn't belong in 3 at all. ha ha ha ha!!!
@Gabriela Kiedis You're not the only one. That gorgeous beautiful eyes🤤
I would've liked to see a Godfather 4 with Vincent as the new head of the Corleone family and how he handled things throughout the 80's & 90's and even early 00's.
no way

😂
Vincent was the ultimate godfather, without any doubt
I remember seeing this scene and realizing it was the best scene from the whole trilogy.
Slap de bum at 0.58.priceless
Vincent had Sonny's temper and strength and Michael's cool bravado under pressure. The only person in that room who stayed cool and in charge was Vincent. It was a very "Michael" moment.
More like Sonny and his grandfather Vito. Vincent was very physical and streetwise like them.
Sonny is one proud father at 1:07.
Godfather part one and two just really set the bar high for this film. This scene alone is almost sopranos like.
0:58 In all the commotion he still has time for a "good game" slap!
The Godfather part 3 was a great film. It was well done and a great way to complete the trilogy. I agree that it's the worst of the 3 but think about it, parts 1 and 2 are in the discussion for greatest movies of all-time.
It was good, but nowhere near as amazing as the first two
It was garbage compared to the first 2. It's been dead to me since I watched it for the first and only time.
I think part 3 sucked big time
Comparated with the godfather and godfather 2 is a very bad movie but the movie isn's so bad
Andy Garcia is awesome
00:51 the fool with the knife wished he'd brought his brown pants to work
Never bring a knife to a gunfight...
Dinero and Connery were the only two real actors in The Untouchables. And such powerhouses that the film was great.
True Son of his Father and great nephew 😊 I think everyone wanted life arc with Vincent as well!
Andy Garcia's at his BEST!
This was probably the best scene in what seemed more like a TV movie than the iconic Godfather I and II
17 who disliked this were searching for a two girls one cup lol
Damn straight! I am gonna unlike thus
he really clipped his head with that gun, look at andy’s reaction, they cut the clip there.
beautiful resolution of a conflict
Why no one talks about Andy Garcia?
His was a stellar performance!
He can be a great actor.
He was awesome as Stone in The Untouchables. Yes, Connery got an Oscar for it, but Andy held his own in it as well.
We can all blame Paramount for not allowing the masterpiece potential of this movie!
Ryan Shahid it’s not a great film however you consider it. Nonsensical comment
And Anthony ..... an *opera* singer?
Hes like if you combined Michael and Sonny into one person.
Bopa Bola absolutely agree. Garcia nailed this performance
really looks like a jr. al-pacino. great casting.
0:36 *SO MUCH FOR THAT PROMISE!!!*
Vincent is the definition of BADASS!!!!
Yes but the 2 guys were completely worthless if we are supposed to believe them to be professional killers tbh.
@@soumyadeepbanerjee964 It's like the real killers subcontracted the hit.
this is one of the most badass scenes ever put to film.
This and Michaels confession are my two favorite scenes
I always rewatch this and the biting Joey Zaza meeting.
both sonny and vicent get emotional but when they are at war, they can handle the situation in calm manner.
Andy Garcia is so F**"ING dreamy!! 😍😍😍
