    Nambour parkrun on Queensland's Sunshine Coast comes with quite a reputation.
    But is it Australia's toughest parkrun? And will we get to see Fluffy the emu?
    This is without a doubt one of the best parkruns I have done, but did it live up to his reputation.
    Come along for the ride around this stunning parkrun course.

    This looks like fun! I am a Sydney based parkrunner (we're unfortunately still a few weeks away from restarting) and my usual parkrun is St Peters which is a pretty hilly road course. I have from time to time done some of the flatter courses around Sydney though returns haven't been as great compared to St Peters. Thus, this course would be one I'd be intrigued on touring should I take a trip up north

      It will test you Ian. Hopefully you are back on the parkrun trail real soon and enjoying your weekly Saturday run. 👍☺

    Great video Neil. Had to share it on my FB page. We (me and hubby) were 'lucky' enough to have been out there twice and done both Course A and B. My vote for toughest parkrun in Australia goes to Nambour Course B.

      Thanks for sharing Jude. We loved Nambour. Gee, we thought course A was tough, course B must be next level. Again, thanks for watching. 👍☺

    I agree. New years day run a few years back. I couldn't understand why people were walking after the 2nd rise. Heat and humidity. I too was walking by the 3rd rise. The only parkrun that forced me to walk, gets my vote for the hardest parkrun.

    • @runwithwoody
      @runwithwoody  Рік тому

      Hi Paul, it may be tough, but I still rate this parkrun as one of the best. Running through those trails is great. It should be on everyone's parkrun bucket list.

    Thanks for showing us your Parkrun, it's great at how popular these are all over the world! I'm jealous your in spring mode with summer on the way, I feel like we need to fast forward a few months over here to get the good weather back ☀️🏃

    • @runwithwoody
      @runwithwoody  2 роки тому +1

      Spring is great for running here, but once the humidity kicks in coming into summer it gets very tough. I think the older I get the more the heat affects my running. 👍☺

    Love your work on the video of my home parkrun course!
    You need to come back when we do our wet weather plan b course which is an out and back to the creek!

    • @runwithwoody
      @runwithwoody  2 роки тому

      Great venue Muzzacar. That out and back course to the creek would be tough, especially coming back up that hills from the creek. 👍☺

    I have done 356 Parkruns, 105 different courses, in 6 different states. I have done many that locals claim to be the hardest, Lawson and Shellharbour in NSW, Sunbury in Vic. I haven't done Nambour. I also do ultra trail running. I have found that profile i.e. ups and downs, are only one factor in making a run hard. I have found that surface is another major factor. I have found that Kate Read in Launceston is the hardest, purely because of its technicality. Great video.

      There's lots of claims about the toughest, but this is the toughest parkrun I have done so far. Thanks for watching.👍☺️

    16 October. A quiet, low turnout, and not a lot of the regulars there. Blackall 100 was the same day, with majority of the regulars either competing or volunteering up on the range. I'm sure it was mentioned. :D

    • @runwithwoody
      @runwithwoody  2 роки тому

      Hi Helen, yeah there were a few away and it was mentioned. Also a few who were crewing at Blackall came along in between checkpoints for their runners. We headed up to CP2 after parkrun to catch a few coming through. 👍☺

    Bunyaville park run pretty hilly through the forest on Jinker Track but not sure of the elevation

    • @runwithwoody
      @runwithwoody  2 роки тому

      Hi Nathan. Yeah, I have done Bunyaville parkrun + run through there in the past. I reckon Nambour has it over Bunyaville for elevation. ☺
