Funny you mention rear steer , I ordered a spare front axle assembly along with my metal portal gears . That should add a bit of weight to the rear ! 🤣
Yep! I ordered 6 sets of axles for these rigs. I knew my future builds were not gonna include worm gears any longer 😆. Can’t beat the price of the things either!

Really appreciate that! Yeah I’m enjoying this truck. Takes me back to when the scx24 didn’t have all the bolt on options. It’s fun to make things work. That’s why I wanted to do this brushless setup. At the moment I have the only brushless fcx24 I know of just because no one has figured out how to mount a good one up to it yet lol. In a year or so everyone will have one just because there will be 15 people making mounts for them lol. Definitely appreciate this comment more than you know! Makes the 4-5hrs of figuring this setup out even more worth it 🤘

Turned out good once the body is on it won’t have as hard of a time getting up the hills. I’m not able to spend much money rn but once I can I’m gonna get a stock one of these it seems to perform similar to the upgraded one

@@daig1984 unfortunately you got the v2 transmitter which gives no adjustments for drag brake or throttle modes. I told FMS they were going to ruin this truck with the new transmitter 🤦🏻♂️
Hello back watching again, I just got the pancake motor in my bronco got the lizard pro and the avatar radio and receiver hooked up I calibrated the radio, it will not bind When I turn on the steering grabs but that’s it it won’t turn it won’t go forward backwards nothing the blue lights just flashing fast, so I’m back watching again and see if I can figure it out
Hmmmm. Motor is plugged in well? Can you try another motor with it? Make sure there is nothing catching or touching the motor. It’ll hang it up fairly easily. My chassis on this fcx24 was touching it just a hair and it wouldn’t turn at all.

@@jaysonchrzanowski9230 man I bought the g7p and have yet to use it because receivers are so hard to get for it. I haven’t really found any micros for it. I do think it’s better than the gt5 because of the mixing & it’s feel (feels great once you change the wheel, stock wheel is plastic crap) Plus you can mount a camera to the front with ease. I guess if I didn’t have the noble I’d probably use it more. I’m kinda waiting to see if the micros for it become more available. All I’ve found are small receivers with no antenna for it. Not what I would actually call micros

It’s based on the ant protocol but not sure what all receivers actually work with it. That’s really my only complaint with Flysky. They need to pick a protocol and stay with it that way their receivers & transmitters are interchangeable.

@@JPWirt I’m not going to argue about servo productions. They are made in the same place, they do not have the same quality of board life when it comes to service life. Do your homework before saying things like this. My suggestion was the new micro 179, the comparison was made thinking of the micro 99. Two completely different servos.
Hi good morning , I'm from Singapore and I just started into rock crawler my vehical is axial 24 jeep scale 1:24. I would love to see it with 3s battery performance. Hope u can do a video on this spec. Tq.
It’s a pain on the Traxxas transmitter but you can reverse the ch1 (steering). You’ll probably have to find a video or instructions online to navigate through the menu on the stock Traxxas remote. You basiclly follow a series of flashes on the controller. It’s a a pain lol
@@2fmrc thanks again it's nice I can count on you for answer's. I spent 80.00 dollars on a savox servo hated it from the start loud and never could get it to stay straight. Bought a 22.00 dollar servo and ended up with two servo's and they are better servo's. Have one in the bronco and the gatekeeper. So thanks again.

Did my unboxing yesterday! My 10 yo got it bound up behind a couch cushion and snapped the front driveshaft ears. FMX will replace. Still a fun truck!! Can’t wait to try some mods. Amazing how far your already taking it. Hey, do you know what the two-pin connector on the headlight wiring is for?
@@2fmrc awesome, should make for less tire roll. That’s the only real downside of the slingers.. I mean they are kinda narrow compared to 90% of tires but man they can GRIP

I consider this truck defective by design. I have two stripped gear carriers on my truck now. The wheels spin until any pressure is put on them (like the weight of the truck) then they don't. It's obvious to me that the plastic is not the problem. The pins are right against the housing and they should be enough away to reach inside the nut instead of a rounded top of the pin being all that is inside the rounded slot on the damned EDGE of the nut. I have zero confidence in metal parts making this much better. Axial has proven that this nylon (or whatever it is) is strong enough but looking at my fcx I'm surprised anyone has 4WD after running it for any time. I think the holes for the pins, if 1/32nd to 1/16th closer to the outside and the nut slotted that much deeper is the only way to have confidence in these portals enduring. Mine is shelved. I may epoxy all gears to the pins and give this away as a toy.
I killed one gear when I got a bb from a fake mud pit hung up between the wheel and portal cover. I flipped the gear and notched it out for the pin and have been running our 3 to death with no other issues. I absolutely love these trucks and don’t really even need my scx24s anymore lol
@@2fmrc I took it apart to glue them. The front left stripped one first and noticed that if I press the gear into the axle that it grabs. Looks like play. The lower portal gear at the hub has a lot of play. So instead I put an O ring on to see if I could eliminate the play. Upon putting the covers on I noticed that three of the screws out of four would not even begin to tighten up a bit with the pieces in perfect contact. I have not touched those screws until taking them out a half hour ago. I did not strip them. The good news. The gimmick gift in my case just happen to be the back of the portal casings with virgin screw holes. Just noticed and that's where I'm at now.
@@2fmrc The new casing half didn't work. the screws would not tighten up on them either. The axle and bearing and joint on these look pretty nice, but the housing lets them down. I'll have to see if I can find some screws the fit these holes or I'll have to glue the housings closed too. One of the stripped gears keeper is rounded, totally stripped out. The other has what looks like a clean slot and still won't grab. Both bushings are in the housing.
I don't mean to spam but to inform. It's really a no brainer with complete axles (with linkage and drive shaft it looks like) at $13. I glued the gears to the pins and the housing halves together. For now I have 4WD and no regret that it is now unserviceable without a complete axle assembly replacement that will get the same treatment.

My FCX showed up today, your video the other day stating that FMS would replace all broken plastic portal gears with metal sold me to try one.

What drillbit size do you use to drill out pinion for the 2 mm bore? I still can’t figure it out. I know it has to be smaller than 2 mm.

Anything can be done! I haven’t messed with that truck at all to know how much work it would take though. I doubt it would bolt straight up.

The cheat code is the best Scx24 chassis but my $8-900 cheat code build can’t touch an almost stock fcx24. 2 speed just slays it lol

Pretty sure that’s just there because the lights are used on other models.
