    This dude is a master at these 24’s!! Been watching for awhile & get inspired every time. He’s already got these fcx24 working out hopped up doing things others don’t even know about lol. I watch a lot of legit 24 UA-camrs & they complain about this & that with the fcx24. They were complaining about the wheel base “rear” & I thought to myself don’t you guys watch 2fmrc? Really appreciate that! Yeah I’m enjoying this truck. Takes me back to when the scx24 didn’t have all the bolt on options. It’s fun to make things work. That’s why I wanted to do this brushless setup. At the moment I have the only brushless fcx24 I know of just because no one has figured out how to mount a good one up to it yet lol. In a year or so everyone will have one just because there will be 15 people making mounts for them lol. Definitely appreciate this comment more than you know! I consider this truck defective by design. I have two stripped gear carriers on my truck now. The wheels spin until any pressure is put on them (like the weight of the truck) then they don't. It's obvious to me that the plastic is not the problem. The pins are right against the housing and they should be enough away to reach inside the nut instead of a rounded top of the pin being all that is inside the rounded slot on the damned EDGE of the nut. I have zero confidence in metal parts making this much better. Axial has proven that this nylon (or whatever it is) is strong enough but looking at my fcx I'm surprised anyone has 4WD after running it for any time. I think the holes for the pins, if 1/32nd to 1/16th closer to the outside and the nut slotted that much deeper is the only way to have confidence in these portals enduring. Mine is shelved. I may epoxy all gears to the pins and give this away as a toy.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  2 роки тому

      I killed one gear when I got a bb from a fake mud pit hung up between the wheel and portal cover. I flipped the gear and notched it out for the pin and have been running our 3 to death with no other issues. I absolutely love these trucks and don’t really even need my scx24s anymore lol

      @@2fmrc I took it apart to glue them. The front left stripped one first and noticed that if I press the gear into the axle that it grabs. Looks like play. The lower portal gear at the hub has a lot of play.
      So instead I put an O ring on to see if I could eliminate the play. Upon putting the covers on I noticed that three of the screws out of four would not even begin to tighten up a bit with the pieces in perfect contact. I have not touched those screws until taking them out a half hour ago. I did not strip them.
      The good news. The gimmick gift in my case just happen to be the back of the portal casings with virgin screw holes. Just noticed and that's where I'm at now.

I'll have to see if I can find some screws the fit these holes or I'll have to glue the housings closed too. One of the stripped gears keeper is rounded, totally stripped out. The other has what looks like a clean slot and still won't grab. Both bushings are in the housing.
