Hey man totally random question. I own two v6 hondas 11 accord and 07 ridgeline I have no idea if they have ever had a valve adjustment they run perfectly and I take really good care of them. Are there symptoms for needed a valve adjustment? I have come across many honda owners with very high mileage on their engines most well over 230k miles and most of these owners have never had a valve adjustment and they have been perfectly fine so I guess I'm just trying to understand how some owners make it so far without one and if I need one ?
hey sorry for the late response but valve adjustment are good to do to make sure the engine is running at its best. sometimes if your valves are too light you'll get a misfire pretty common on older Hondas. extreme cases you can run the risk of burning a valve if their too tight for too long.
One more thing you should tell the people who’s watching that is not familiar with doing this. Tell them they need to shift the gears and test drive after ATF change. Not all people know.😅
Good point but it depends on the car some cars you need to get it up to temp and test drive going through all the gears others you need to get it up to temp and just shift from P all the way down to the lowest selection on the gear selector then back up to park while waiting about 3 seconds between gear selection changes but this particular vehicle is a manual transmission not an automatic so all this information is irrelevant for this particular car
2012 tl owner and not worried about the recall. 🙏

You don’t need to measure temps?
Not on this vehicle with the manual transmission
