I’m not sure ‘There is nothing you are missing from not partaking in the drink’ is a very valid statement coming from someone who has never drunk. You may ask ‘ok, what am I missing out on, then?’ Well, ironically - the real world. Because, even if you, as an individual, are living the perfect, healthy life, you depend on everybody else to follow suit for your proposed alternative to really work. And, so long as that is not the case, you are - quite literally - missing out on the real world. You are entirely ruling out a learning experience that more often than not, doesn’t have life-destroying repercussions. If there was something the whole world was doing, and raving about…something that I had never tried…well, I’d want to know what all the fuss was about! It’s basic curiosity. Give it a shot and see what happens - I can assure you that you will live to tell the tale.
    Edit: spelling

Btw I'm not condemning you for not drinking - that's a totally reasonable choice to make, and I respect it. I am also not encouraging you to drink. I'm just pointing out that you are commenting on phenomena as someone who doesn't really know, which makes your video seem a little contrived. You are merely relaying what you have heard, rather than what you have learned. Most people would rather take advice from an ex-alcoholic.

Interesting video. I agree with a lot of what you said about alcohol but don’t think it’s a completely negative thing. I think life is about balance; and after being sober for a month I found that, a few drinks with friends was a positive, but getting very drunk OFTEN was not. I think you should mention the distinction between drinking and binge drinking. In my opinion, drinking alcohol alone is not a negative; DEPENDING on alcohol is.

Thanks for watching. This article suggests to me that young people should be cautious of drinking alcohol when their brain is still developing. www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2161831322001429

@@thinkingthingsthrough123the conclusions of that article seem to say lots of the effects are unclear. i don’t think alcohol is good for you, but it’s not unreasonable for people to do a cost/benefit for it. if you think the cost outweighs the benefit then fair enough; but that may not be the same for everyone.

Why do young people drink? BECAUSE ITS FUN! I will gladly do things simply for this reason and until it stops being so.

Great 👍 . My video is a word of caution to those with anxiety (a lot of young people) who are thinking about drinking. The science proves that drinking will only exacerbate any mental health issues you might have. Especially young people about to leave home, the anxiety of meeting lots of new people might draw them to drinking. And they may become dependent on it in social group settings.
