I have the Trek rail 7.....Super awesome!!! Very versatile. It has a 150 rear but can fit 170, plus it has a flip chip. 750 battery lasts a while before recharge.
I own the gen 3 Levo zero rattles unlike most others. Wanted to upgrade so I test rode many of these bikes . The Levo is still the best for me . Pivot shuttle SL was my least favorite I tried (because of the fazua motor) . Haven’t tried the shuttle am though but it has that rattle which I can’t get over . Nice review Sam !!
Please go for the Enduro Gas Gas. My favourite bike is the Gen3, maybe the motor technology is not the state of the art, but kinematics and reliability are the best ones.
I've just bought the Pivot Shuttle AM in its Pro version. I was afraid that the rattle would be quite noticeable, but so far I haven't noticed anything. I'd like to point out that I've only ridden it 250 km.
Super cool bikes! I've got a newbie question: How big a battery is needed for riding 25 km of trails in total (up and down, e.g. in the Alps) with a lot of help from the engine on inclines? Thanks!
@@SamsBikes Great! I hope it will answer this question, in realworld scenarios over hours of biking in trails in natural parks, rather than in bike parks. 😊
I’m looking at the E160 S as well and this will be my first eMtb. Not looking forward to humping this over gates and stiles but it looks a great bike. Just going to have to plan my routes with extra forethought. Also like that you can take the battery out otherwise the Mondraker Craty R would have been a contender. If you don’t mind me asking how are you finding the sizing. Not seen one to try yet but at just over 5’11 I was looking at the large. Bit different from the Crafty as this was definitely a medium.
@SamsBikes no you are right. Its a beast at 26kg it is my first ebike so haven't got much to compare it to but being in your position sam I bet you really notice a heavy bike.
@stevieb1505 yeah I'm bang on 5 11 and 100kg the bike is great to be fair. It's my first emtb and 26kg over 24 kg bike being lifted over a gate or fence isn't much. And with the crazy sales on the whytes right now you can't go wrong for your money. It truly is a great bike
@@callumjohnson9433yep there are good deals to be had at the moment on Whyte, even the 2024 models are around £1K less than their 2023 counterparts. Enjoy your ride👍
Canyon spectral On is my favorite ebike but I also love the pivot shuttle as well but the price difference between the canyon and shuttle is what gears me towards the canyon the crafty bike is nice too
That is a great list sam , glad to to the old levo still made it , having rode the gas gas just in the dealer car park 2 weeks ago I can say that bike feels lighter than the levo , hopefully over the next 2 weeks we are gonna have a proper demo on the gas gas ecc6 , Will be interesting to hear your views on the new Shimano motor as there are some nice bikes out there with shimano but I’ve always been put with that engine , also having gone from levo gen 1 to a cube stereo back to a current levo, would I find the latest Bosch as good or better the the current brose , atm I’m definitely prefer my levo engine over the Bosch I had in the cube . The sram brose motor in the gas gas was near silent .
Hey Phil, please keep me informed on the Gas Gas. I'm in talks with them about a test, and if I get it, I'm going to do a back-to-back Motor shootout on all the motors for us bike geeks, haha... The Shimano EP801 is good I have really enjoyed my time on it. The power is way better still a little off Bosch and Brose but the motor is so natural feeling it really feels like a analog pedal stroke. Right now I see it like this Bosch is a powerhouse but not natural or refined, The Brose in the Specialzied is a beast slient and with the Specialized App you can turn it the way you want the motor to feel and the Shimano is really natural all good options right now... The Sram well maybe I can tell you in the next few weeks. Speak soon champ.
It's hard to pick one without riding it first. I have several Trek dealers around me, so I would probably pick the Trek Rail simply for service if needed. Next choice would be the Specialized for same reason.
I have a Trek exe with a 160mm front fork which for general duties is a wonderful bike. But i hired a Whyte E160 in Rotorua for 150km in the redwoods and it was super impressive- 750w battery did 60km with 1600-1700m of climbing. First time on a Bosch motor which was a responsive, non laggy bit of kit. I was buggered so just right!
Im considering to get a Bulls ebike am 3 (just because of price point) is that brand not good? i never see them much on youtube lists such as these.. anyone has imput on those bulls bike?
Great video mate, but as I’ve said before you need to include the Whyte E-bikes which have some of the best Geometry of any E-Mountain bike in the world and are also a great all round package especially in the E160 range, although I love my hard hitting E180 as it’s a proper mountain muncher 😎
All riders here must be so lucky. Of all bikes out there they choose the best one in the world. And then they wonder why their models isn’t on the list 😁 I mean they have tested at least two different bikes and read about four others. So they must know what’s best 💯 Great vid!
@SamsBikes can you help I've a specialized turbo tero 3 it says I need to take it to a dealer to upgrade the firmware can this be done easily by me or do I actually need to take it to a specialized dealer as I'm not close to one
The bike that made the blueprint for the Emtb needs to be on that list. The Haibike Allmountain almost 4,000 Uk miles in heavy rain/sleet/snow from the Peak district to the highlands the Pw-x3 has been %100 reliable and has plenty of power 80nm and can still put in the miles with the 720Wh battery. I've had other brands in the past Spesh/Giant but this thing is solid compared.
How come Cube never get a mention - on my 2nd Cube e-bike and they are great value for the component & use the Bosch Gen-4 motor so no worries there either.
Sam, where is the Orga products? These are fabulous bikes, wild as well class full power, Enduro and of course the new rise 2 as for Power also in a late way package. I think you missed .

Great selection of bikes bro. I’ve got my heart set on the Canyon Spectral ON but any idea as to why we can’t buy this in NZ or Australia?

Hey rider, unfortunately if the ride Specialized App says you need yo take it to a dealer you really need to.
Hey Sam thanks for answering it's really appreciated...dang I'll have to leave it as is as the dealer is way to far to take my bike
