I started a side business window cleaning / pressure washing company. Today is my first day full-time business, and we are on track to do 11.5k in business this month alone. I'm sole owner llc
Not just Americans, people from around the world are seeking entrepreneurial opportunities every day to escape the Matrix forever. That's only good for all of us humanity.
I am a SAHM, but my kids are older, and I easily can pull in $2,000 or more per month doing various side hustles. I am a seamstress, and I often make half or more just form that. I drive Uber. I drive for Doordash. I also edit sometimes. I make enough that, if rent weren’t an issue, I could pay for all my own living expenses and have money left over. If I had to pay rent, I’d rent a room for $800 or so, and it would be tight but I could do it. I love being able to keep my own schedule and having the flexibility to be there for my kids.
That said, I don’t want to do all this gig work forever. I have plans to become a mental health coach (currently training), and eventually to go for a master’s in counseling and become a licensed therapist. The nice thing is, all these gigs will work around my future school schedule so nicely! And once I’m seeing paying clients, I’ll be pulling in enough to drop Uber and Doordash and only do the things I really enjoy.
I work Full time as an assistant manager at a credit union, seasonally at a minor league baseball park being a stadium usher, and I sell tshirts and sports cards on ebay. To be honest I put more time and effort into my ebay side hustle than that credit union job. Credit union is the same thing every day, same coworkers, same members, same work. It is groundhog day. My ebay business though is exciting and if I can prove to myself (and my wife) that I can do that full time then it will be so long to the credit union. It is funny though that 62% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, but the workforce participation rate is also around 62%.
Sounds like one or both of you need to get a new job that pays better. That would take the strain off of you. I got a new job last year and I make almost double, it was well worth it.
Pointing fingers on greedy financial guys who give out loans needed for underpaid worker to survive. May be those workers wouldn't need student loans and credit cards if they were paid like back in 1960s when 800 workday pays of an assembly worker were enough to buy a median house.
I can make a weeks paycheck in one day with my saltwater aquarium. I am NEVER working for a boss again. If they’re so valuable, they can do it themselves.

There’s so much missing information here…

I work full time for a police department, a part time cop at another, and a seasonal employee of the sheriffs office.
Everything you’re talking about has taxes involved I’m involved in something that you don’t pay tax and it’s legal
I miss my side hustle at FedEx Ground.

I know single means simply "one", so you are saying "one serving friend? what?
