I was kinda disappointed when I came to the end of the available videos on this subject when I was researching so I figured I'd make as many as I can. I'm glad you find them useful and good luck to both of you! 😀

Hello Nurse Mentor! Thank you for introducing a Q&A series - these are awesome and very helpful! A question that I have is if you have any input on how to handle scrutiny from others about your nursing goals? I have had people be incredibly supportive but others have been very discouraging.

That's a great question and I'll include it in a future video. I say that type of response goes for a lot of things in life and I believe the naysayers are projecting on to you what they have going on within them. Without knowing what type of responses you're getting and about what specifically, I say people who are unhappy, experience self-doubt, or feel threatened are the ones who are most likely to be negative. I personally don't share my goals outside of a small group of people in my life because I'm a sensitive person and I don't like to use my energy to give myself a confidence boost once someone has tried to "rain on my parade". If it's someone that you value the opinion of, maybe you can point it out when their remarks are discouraging. They may not even realize how they're coming off or what impact it's having on you.

@@NurseKaylana Thank you SO much!! This feedback is pure gold and exactly what I was looking for. I agree and will take your advice to heart about being more selective about who I open up to. In this current climate especially, I have experienced a lot of scrutiny from others about becoming a nurse and many going so far as to predict and express to me that I will hate it and that I should just pick another profession altogether. While I do have tough skin in many areas, I find these comments penetrate deep and leave me feeling confused at times about what I have chosen. I am eager to be a part of the nursing community and I understand that the job is far from easy but I am OK with that! I have always loved a challenge and I truly love helping others as well. I am one that always tries to utilize whatever resources that I can to build myself as well as others. Again, thank you and I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on this topic.

hello, i have a question. I am currently in BSN school, i’ve got one year and a half left. I desire to be a CRNA but i’m not sure on what are the process. Can you be ab np and move to become a CRNA?

Please check out my video about Basic CRNA Requirements and see if that answers your question as far as the process. Can you become an NP and then become a CRNA? Technically, yes, but I question the desire to do that.
