This clever and creative video is great! All Dirty Harry fans must see this. I have been in San Francisco and can relate to the location shots. This must have been a labor of love paying homage to the motion picture.
was watching Adam the woo in San fran and i thought of Dirty Harry movies, looked up filming locations your seemed the most info, liked and subbed! hello from Ontario Canada
I don't know what it is, but everything just looked better in the 1970s. The same spots look sterile now. Probably the film stock helps to make everything look gloomier as well as the different lighting. Some places were surprisingly eek preserved all things considered.
I've just recently watched Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, and The Enforcer for the first time. Sometimes I would go on Google Maps to find some locations (also the video game Watch Dogs 2 has many of these locations) I'm glad to have found your video!
I've just realized after all these years, I have only seen the edited for TV version. I have seen DH probably ten times mostly on KTVU 2 in the mid to late 70's
Excellent ! Très bon boulot ! Montage digne de Don Siegel himself ! Ce film est une référence pour qui aime SF et cet extraordinaire acteur (et réalisateur) qu'est Clint Eastwood.
Some people would rag on Eastwood as an actor, but he gave a special nuance to Harry Callahan, and the other roles he played. He was never just a one dimensional “action hero”, like we saw from so many who tried to follow afterwards!
See the nightclubs and stripper bars along North Beach? When I was 7 and my best friend was 7 my hippie big brother and his GF took us walking along the street when the barkers were all outside the doors yelling "Come on in, come on in, gorgeous chicks, no cover charge, beautiful chicks!" and my friend and I thought it was so weird that I told her "let's play 'The Stripper' on our kazoos" and so we did. One of the barkers teasingly (I hope) said to us "you girls are pretty good! You wanna job?" Being 6-7 we just blushed and giggled. Today that would seem way more sinister, don't you think?
Have you done shooting locations for "The Conversation"? Every time I see that movie I feel like I am 6 again, going downtown with my hippie big sister.
@@bonzo319 I'd rather have "Scorpio" as a neighbor than the string of sissified spoiled noodle house brats that have infested my neighborhood over the last twenty five years and screwed it up. "Scorpio" would just shoot me, not slowly disgust me to death.
That was totally awesome, I have a few questions, but I think I will just ask one if I may, at the very end of the video where you showed where Clint shot Scorpio into the lake or whatever it was, when the scene transformed, are you actually showing what is actually there today in place of the old Rock Crushing plant? Thanks again, all your videos are Top Notch.......
Gotta ask this before I forget, at the beginning where you showed the segment where the officer was following the guy in the pink Cadilliac, when they showed you at the Golden Gate Bridge, what is the name of that road that exits off of the golden Gate Bridge and winds its way around and goes underneith it, checked Google maps, and is it Alexander Road?
You don't angry, but, Your second name "Attia", in sicilian dialect it is: *To you!* 😂 For example: (Attia e a mammata!) In English: To you and your mother!
at around the 14"55 mark, where they pull the female out of that manhole, do you happen to know if thats still there or was that just a prop that they built for the movie back then???
I think they based the story on the Barbara Jane Mackal case (except she survived) where a young woman was buried in a "coffin" that had a fan and water and a small supply of food and every 2 days the kidnappers would check on her.. It was a very odd story, and very similar to the Chowchilla schoolbus kidnapping incident. Coalinga. Around the same time period we had the Tylenol/cyanide capsule baloney and also many other dorky insane cults and such stuff. Sarah Jane Moore....Squeaky Fromme.....it's just weird. Someone once said about Elvis after he died that "the pure products of America go crazy". Well....they don't have to. They can just ignore the media and live their lives. Marry and have children and take them to a traditional church. Pleeeeeze!!!!
Another well done video, But now you are starting to get a bit silly. What's next, You're going to redo "The Planet of the Apes" location video, and insert yourself running through the corn field? (lol) ..actually, that could be rather humorous ... but time consuming.
I got to see many of these filming locations in Aug 2023. SF is still a great city!!
I am from Sf, my father is from sf, my brother is from sf,my grandfather is from sf, this movie is sf.well done. Clint is the man.
I miss the 70's. Thanks for doing this video - it was great!
this evening I saw the movie again and immediately after I watched your video, so I could fully appreciate it. Good job ☺👌🎬🎥

Hey Herve, this was a heck of a heck of a job! Just fantastic! The very end was superb.
Extremely well put together.

The salient question is “Did Dirty Harry collect all the spent shells and recycle them?” This IS The Bay Area, after all.......
Lol!
Albert Popwell at the end...1 man, many characters, all in the Dirty Harry films.
He even played a good guy 😂
Legend.

You have a hippie big sister too? Sweet!
Great stuff as always Herve!!
Well done, Bravo
Excellent!!
awesome, thanks, made my day!
great video from you as always
rip albert popwell xxx
.... love the ending! and there was me thinking Harry did it all on his own!
The old tunnel pretty cool. Gees 50 years ago
this is brilliant
It's a shame if there is no lake from the last scene ! They should have left it as a shrine for us who loved that movie !!!
How is Herve doing? Anybody? He uploaded his last film here more than 10 years ago...
Sadly, the city could use another Scorpio.
What do you mean?

I wonder that too. I ponder the possibility that Harry's badge might still be down there somewhere. lol
It'd make one hell of a souvenir.

he inserts himself in the film....a bit much & trying to be Alfred Hitchcock, or what? still alot of work was done & great job.

At around the 17 min point, you had buffalo in the field...
2:49 Pine & Market St don't intersect...
did this movie actualy have the movie house playing play misty for me???

Gee I would love to see the video but it starts out with 5 fucking minutes of ads, literally, bye
Is the pond in the last scene still there ?

What's the name of the song at 15:10?
Song ? This is the Dirty Harry main theme by Lalo Shiffrin.
Not as good as Bullit, or Once Upon a Time in the West , but still ok. Funny the wooden R/R bridge Harry jumped off of is gone.
