    Thank you Kreg! I learned a lot and took notes. I was important to see you have issues too, and what you did to overcome them.

    Beautiful paint!!! I agree with you as far as air brushes go. I have an Iwata Eclipse, GSI Procon P290, a GHAD-39 & a couple Amazon specials. Each have their purpose, by far the Iwata is my favorite😁

    Great vid Kreg, I started with MCW clear but switched to ACME. After watching Matthew on MCV. And use the harder on the MCW enamel. Besides my goofs the combo works. One of the reasons was MCW jar lids welded and put in Tamiya jars which did also.But like you say what works for you. Thanks for a great lesson as always.

    Kreg, Let it dry real good,Sand your imperfections with 2000 grit and touch it up,then shoot your clear. Give that a try.

    Impressed with how fast the stubborn roof blemishes disappeared when you switched to 2500.
    I understand why you weren't aggressive early on those, but I think I learned some things about wet sanding here.
    My F-Series pickups have all been black. It's definitely a tough paint to work with and get polish right.
    After 28 years on the '96, I think I'm going to be forced to get a repaint, it's hazy now. It required using a clay bar to get it to shine the past 2 years, but I've gone too deep with it now.

    • @kregskorner8851
      @kregskorner8851  Місяць тому

      Thanks Ray, the 2500 cut the time down quick, although I ended up with a burn through on the roof line, not too bad, the 5000 just didn't cut it for the mark on the roof, I knew I should have cleaned my paint booth out, I'm in need off new filters and get some spray back at times not pulling the fumes out good enough. These things happen, yes black can be a tough on to work with shows all the flaws. My dark blue Merc Capri needs a repaint, she's little thin also, hopefully one day... Have a good one Ray!

      Thanks Kevin, for the enamel colors I have an Iwata HP-3 Plus and for primer and lacquers I use a Point Zero, it's an Amazon special, but works good..

      @@kregskorner8851 Thanks Kreg. I was wondering because you seemed to have a fairly wide spray pattern and the paint appeared to go on nice and wet.
      The reason I ask - I'm in the process of applying MCW Lacquer using a similar airbrush (HP-CS with .3mm needle) because the colors I chose are only available from MCW in lacquer. I know it's off topic, but do you have any experience or advice with spraying MCW lacquer?

      I find using the fuzzy side of the micro fiber towel works good, if it has dried and fights you, I will add a little more polish to the gaps and hit it with the towle till gone.
