Going into the 2023 NFL season, no one really knew what to expect of the ‘new look’ Green Bay Packers. With Jordan Love taking over for Aaron Rodgers as QB1, a highly revamped offense for HC Matt LaFleur to work with, and a Packers defense still looking to meet their expectations, the Packers opening game vs Chicago Bears showed us some things that I don’t think ANYBODY in the NFL world expected to see.
When looking at the Packers offense, despite not having much experience to work with in terms of targets like WRs Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Samori Toure, Malik Heath, etc, Jordan Love thrived under Matt LaFleur’s playcalling. And when tying in the run game with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, the Packers offense could legitimately have a very impressive two-way threat if the Packers offensive line continues to impress as well.
Then when getting back to the Packers defense, they have shown more promise just against the Chicago Bears than what’s been seen from them in a while. And with returning pieces in guys like Kenny Clark, Devonte Wyatt, Preston Smith, and rookie Lukas Van Ness up front, to Quay Walker, Rashan Gary, Jaire Alexander, and Rasul Douglas, they might finally improve drastically on this side of the ball in 2023 also.
This video includes 2023 Green Bay Packers highlights, also including topics like Green bay packers 2023, packers vs bears highlights week 1, jordan love highlights, packers bears week 1, jordan love packers highlights, jordan love interview, aaron jones highlights, aaron jones packers, aj dillon packers, romeo doubs highlights, romeo doubs packers, packers week 1 highlights, gb packers, packers new today, packers injury news, aaron jones news today, christian watson injury news, jayden reed highlights, luke musgrave packers highlights, jordan love vs bears, all throws jordan love, jordan love post game, matt lafleur packers, packers vs bears reaction, packers bears, packers watson, packers full game, packers live, packers practice, packers vs falcons preview, green bay packers vs chicago bears, etc, which I do not own ANY of the rights to whatsoever, as these are intended to be used under the guidelines of fair use through UA-cam.

I loved how much Love spread the ball around rather than just honing in on one target all game. It was something that held the passing game back in previous seasons with Davante. Their ability to limit the run was the most surprising thing to me on defense, it was the one cripple they had last season and if that stays consistent they could have a top 10 defense this season. I couldn't be more excited for the Love era in Green Bay!

It felt like since Love was drafted, we have always been hearing from other people's opinion on him. I was wondering if it was because he wasn't as good as expected, or because he just didn't let the pressure in. Thus game finally gave me an answer. As a Packers fan who got his season tickets during college years, I predict 9-8. I loved the Bears outcome, especially after they picked up so many trades and free agents. They will improve and the Pack will face better teams this season, so I’m tempering my enthusiasm. They are fun to watch and there is no quit in them. Rodgers showed little fire last year and the trade might re-ignite that chip on his shoulder that powered his career formally. With Love, it’s a win-win.

Win that one and it’s going to be nuts in Lambeau for game 3. Still an extremely young and experienced offense outside of the lineman. They will have their lows and some beatings by better defenses. Just a different vibe and chip on their shoulders than the last 3 years with Rodgers. Talented but seemingly thought they were entitled to win because of ARod and our history of a playoff team. Should be interesting to watch the progression. Love is a very smart and humble QB right now. Something we need.

A noted NFL expert (me) told everyone that Love was the real deal when I saw how much he improved in last years preseason. It was apparent that Clements had coached him up and he was ready. Packers should've listened to me and dealt Arod after the failure in the NFC championship 2 years ago, and could've gotten at least the Wilson package for him. I call it the "reverse Hadl fail" and could've set GB up for a dynasty for a decade.

Not all teams are the level of quality that the Bears are. Some teams are going to be a much tougher ask. So, I'd pump the brakes on anointing the Packers after week one.
If you see the Packers competing with and sometimes beating better teams, like the 49ers, Cowboys, Eagles (and this year, the Chiefs and Lions), especially in their house, then you can call the Packers truly legit. I'm feeling good about them at this time, but I recognise with such a very young team overall, there will be troubles ahead. I don't think the Packers will be bad this year (as a lot of media guys thought) but they could be anywhere from decent (say, 7-8 wins), to good (9-11 wins).
Injuries might make a mockery of their season, but that has always been true. With average or better health this season, we stand to get a glimpse of what the Packers might be over the next few years. One thing does stand out to me, which is that the Packers drafts of 2022 and 2023 are looking like they could be very good indeed.

Little worried about Musgrave in that game. He flopped two easy TD's by stopping on the route instead of continuing. At least he caught the second one I guess. Should be an easy thing to coach, hopefully it happens because Jordan didn't make many bad throws.

I agree, but the Packers O-line is one of the better in the NFL and JLove is pretty mobile as far as QB's go. They'll be fine against some heavy pressure D-lines. As long as his wideouts can get open they'll have no problem.

Packers are the 2nd youngest team in the NFL, but they didn't look like it @ Chicago (8th oldest team in the NFL). Rodgers really hurt the team last year. He put very little effort in helping prepare his younger receiver, but yet he was quick to criticize them. It had to be hard to be around him. Heck, Rpdgers can't even get along with his own family! It has been 5 years since Rodgers played a preseason game. Rodgers was no longer carrying the team. He had become an anchor. This year is a breath of fresh air! I wish Jordan Love the best!!!

The Bears still suck. I became a die hard Packer fan shortly after Favre took the reigns of the franchise. It is way too soon and the wrong team to hope to use as a baseline when looking at footage for traits like poise and decision making. It defintely helps that this is the hand he was dealt in his first big moment of stepping into the role he was drafted for. But this is not a true test. The Chicago fans and players are subconsciously cursed at this point and getting overly excited about dominating their weakness serves no meaningful purpose. I'm grateful for every victory, but balancing emotions and expectations is crucial towards the grueling NFL season. Edit: 2 quarters into week 2 and I've seen enough. Jordan Love is the truth!

I've been super tentative to say it but I remember Rodgers' first season and I thought he would be great before his first start; I am even more confident in Jordan than I was with Rodgers. I don't really believe in jinxing anything but I mean I kinda don't even wanna say it but the truth is he is an amazing QB. Packers were 6-10 in Rodgers first season even with a good performance from Rodgers. This team is better than that team so I think it is more likely than not this team lands in the wildcard slot.

Yes it's hard to say I just one game but all three preseason games look exactly the sameand it doesn't count and a paxos to England and preseason but that's because the King was cut short by 10 minutes and having a serious injured player like that that was very smart to stop the game.I've seen a lot of quarterbacks come and go over the years with the Packers before favre and Rodgers and most of them were really bad if they can bring this intensity every game you better watch out or even get blown out. I'm watching comes back it's going to be all new show
