The Prince says that he choose Rue because she loved him! But if Rue really loved him she should have seen all the pain she put him through sooner and realized. She only wanted him to herself. She just lusted after him. Ahiru deserved better, I wish she would have stayed human with Fakir. I shipped her and Fakir.
Rue originally just wanted him to herself, but broke out of the boundaries of the story after finding out that the raven had tainted her from the beginning. Ahiru loved the prince from the start, but never questioned why. She then realized she never actually loved him, and her feelings were only there because of Drosselmeyer. Rue had loved the prince of her own will, and not because of the story. That's why they ended up together.
Inabasa I still see it as lust not love. She put him through so much pain. Love is willing the good for another but she was so focused on wanting him only to love her. Unlike Rue, Ahiru put him above herself. Ahiru could have chosen to keep his last heart but she didn’t. In the end it doesn’t matter because the series will never change. I don’t ship Ahiru with the prince anyways but I still think that the prince choosing Rue over Ahiru was a dick move.
@@nopenope1068 Did you remember what I said tho. Rue hurt the prince because she was following the raven. She wasn't actually trying to. When she realized she was being controlled, she acknowledged her mistake and asked ahiru not to return the final heart shard.
@@inactive_ina Yeah but I don't understand how she even made the mistake in the first place. She has the raven blood in her. She has felt the pain and she still subjected Mytho to it. If you truly love someone you wouldn't subject them to that kind of pain and torture. Rue only focused on what she wanted a lot of the time and she really dealt a number on Mytho, not that I really care about him. My only concern is Ahiru and Fakir. Those two deserved much better treatment, especially Ahiru. Ahiru didn't get what she deserved in the end and Mytho honestly didn't thank her enough so I greatly dislike Mytho and Rue.

Rue acknowledges how cruel she was to the prince in one of the episodes ( when he's a crow ) and then asks Tutu not to return the final heart shard to protect him. She was in love with the prince, but while she was being controlled by the Raven, he had told her that the Prince "belonged" to her and that she should take him for herself. We all found out that in reality, the Raven was just using Rue to bring the Prince to him so he could eat his heart. She made the mistake because she was kidnapped as a child, grew up with a sadistic beast and was groomed to be manipulative. Why wouldn't she act that way? Does it justify her actions? No, but she says that herself. She says that her best memories were when she was human, not when she was with the Raven. When she says this, she's referencing all the lies she was fed by the Raven. Since she had helped the Raven get most of what he wanted towards the end, she does the only thing she can do: try to stop Tutu from restoring Mytho's heart. I get that all of you fans who adore Fakir/Ahiru want to demonize Rue and Mytho, but you guys need to understand that they did what they could in the situation. Ahiru's ending happened the way it did because Fakir erased all the influence Drosselmeyer had on the world. Drosselmeyer's influence included Princess Tutu, and if there's no Tutu, there's no human duck. The ending hinted that Fakir is rewriting it to make her human again, but it seems you all ignore that when we talk about what Ahiru "deserved" or not. The Villian was never the Raven, it was Drosselmeyer, the one writing and influencing the entire story. Princess Tutu is about defying Fate-The Fate Drosselmeyer had intended for them.
i guess i would have loved to see duck and mytho together, but i thibk the point of having rue and mytho become a couple was to teach acceptance for things you may not want? just assuming since the show was meant for younger people
I swear they should have had a better development and ending if they wanted rue and mytho tgt. Him basically saying he just went with her because she hurt so long really spits in the face of what others genuinely did for him. It was ridiculous
.... Not really. But the anime is beautiful anyways. And thinking about it, it's a Bittersweet happy ending, because if ahiru had declared her love for the prince, she would've dissappeared. In the end, she managed to save everyone, defeat the raven and give back the pieces of missing heart to the prince. Even if they didn't end up toghether and she went back to being a Duck, fakir swore to be by her side forever... Which is so sweet and heart breaking. Probably fakir will find a way to give her a happy ending, since in the final scene, he was writing.
