One thing I really appreciate in this video, that I dont see mentioned as much is that you simply point us in the right direction, so many other content creators tell you what to do and what happens. I appreciate that you don’t especially in such a detailed, lived in world like this every quest is fun.
I watched this video being pretty confident I didn't miss anything in act 2. And I was wrong! I had no idea about the secret room in Balthazar's chambers. So, thank you! There is another very missable thing you did not mention though. In the mindflayer colony, there is that brain puzzle in one of the rooms that gives access to an ok weapon that deals psychic damage AND a brain jar that has to be inserted in a thingy in the laboratory which will enable dialogue with a dead githzerai who grants permanent advantage with int saving throws which is extremely handy against mindflayer mind blast.
Love that you were able to point out the content without spoiling it, keeps the fun in the game for any who are still finding these for the first time!👍
Don't have to leave from the mountain pass if you planned originally to leave via the Grymforge elevator. I usually clear the underdark then the mountain pass and leave from the elevator to ensure I can path easily to the Harper's and save them from the Shadows on my way through act 2. But that's just to make sure people know your not locked into that method after clearing it out. (Good playthroughs)
worth mentioning that "Cat's Grace", from The Graceful Cloth, gives you ADVANTAGE on Dex rolls and also on Dex skill checks,.... that's right, never roll a 1 again when you're trying to disarm a trap (gotta love em)
@@Blackwind_Legacy yeah, they're super useful for the beginning, I used em a lot before the mountain pass (because I'm a dirty thief). But once I got the Graceful Cloth those gloves got sidelined real quick. Advantage on Sleight of Hand vs Advantage on ALL Dex skill checks and Dex rolls, also only take half fall damage, and get +2 to Dex (up to 20), and get +1 to Dex saving throws, and increased jump distance.
@@maxmurray8950 just don’t do it man. Honestly from what I’ve read the best thing you can do is keep the egg and leave it for the whole game in lazzels inventory. You get a nice line of dialogue at the end
You don't have to play hide and seek with Oliver to do Halsin's quest. If you investigate Arte in Last Light when you first arrive, then talk to Halsin in camp, he'll go to Last Light to do his own investigation. From there you can go get the Lute from the Surgeon, do the next step by the lake, and THEN Halsin will tell you to go to the house where Oliver is. At which point you have dialogue that skips playing hide and seek.
Where would we be without nerds like yourself. You’re getting me through this game lmao. I restarted my first play through after I realized I missed so much in act one
11:30 I know this is old but for some bizarre reason even with all patches it doesn't use up the iron for Karlach quest, you need 1 infernal alloy (from duegar archaeologist in grymforge) for armor, and 2 infernal irons (same icon but generic) for EVERYTHING else. So just 3 in act two and one used up in act 1 to stabilize her. You can find them in blacksmith place where you do sussur bark masterwork weapon, another in goblin camp sanctum treasury, and one more in Zhentarim camp behind a closed door (pickpocket key off blondie or just Astarion brute force everything). And 4 masks are all in grymforge area, most in ruins, one I almost missed at the table with duegars near Nere cave-in. Good video!
It's always great to remember act 1 is actually huge. It spans across 3 large zones, the Grove underdark and mountain pass. Do all 3, you can even do all 3 technically in some bit of out of order (you can go to the underdark super early if you jump down the green glowing pit at the bottom of the well in blighted village with featherfall. Bam easy underdark and you don't suffer from not touching the primary first area. Just make sure you go back to the surface and not to the shadow cursed lands. Mountain pass to my knowledge does require slightly more story in the Grove to go to safely. If you don't do it and you try to go there, and you attempt to go there 3 times it will be a game over and you turn into mindflayers.
I pretty much missed all of the interactable Moonrise content in it's entirety. I allowed my main character rogue to be captured by trying to travel the path to Baldur's Gate (alone), broke out of prison, rescued the gnomes and tieflings and left. Then I felt like it was probably important to finish up the Shar dungeon before doing anything else in Moonrise, and you can guess the rest.
14:30 You can also push her off the roof and insta kill her if you are worried about not doing enough dmg or really need to save up(or just hide your money and give small amount)
When we did it it didn’t insta kill her (patch maybe?) but she’s basically weak enough to kill in just a few hits if everyone but the pusher is ready outside the window.
in my playthrough, we went to the cursed lands area and did a majority of act 2 first, and then popped from their to the other side of the githyanki creche. So I don't think it matters too much which path you take, as long as you don't finish the selune temple in act 2 completely before you loop back to the mountain pass.
You actually dont have to deal with the inquisitor before getting blood of lathander. You can walk right around him, get it, and come back to him with it in hand.
They may patch it out at some point, but you can turn undead and start togling the light of lathander in the passives tab. This causes all the undead in the affected area to keep taking damage.
Another weapon to keep in mind is the drake glaive sold by the zent moonrise. The glaive itself is meh, but element ability to give +1 and an element damage boost can be used on other weapons until the next long rest without concentration
Fantastic content man - very thorough without feeling like a tutorial I look forward to your act III video once I get there to make sure I don't miss out on anything notable!
Regarding Geringothe Thorm (or whatever her name is) I killed her without giving up my gold. I happened to have summoned creatures with everyone and death ward on two characters (and potions of Supreme Healing helped), she also started with hundreds of hp, but you can do it.
Didn't realize this was even an option (just giving HER all your gold), killed her the regular way. Her gold armor drops on the floor for each minion you kill and she becomes this skinny undead with barely any HP (talked her to death first run with Bard). Granted, she 1 shots at least 1 companion first round with gold in inventory, but you just heal them up. I guess just sending your gold to camp before the fight works as well if you plan to fight her.
There is infernal alloy you can get to make all 3 pieces of equipment from Dammon. In the Grim area, 3 speech checks from the Dwarf in the rubble or buy it from him for under 300 gold.
I actually missed out on the whole infiltration of Moonrise Towers on my first playthrough. There were so many quests pointing me into that direction that I thought I should explore everything else first so I don't progress the story prematurely. Which is exactly what I ended up doing because of it. First time I went there was when it had already been attacked by the nightsong and everyone inside was either dead or hostile. Missed out on a huge chunk of interesting stuff, and so many NPCs that I would have met again in act 3 were just gone.
I get that you are avoiding spoilers as much as possible, but it’s not a spoiler to let people know that not only can they complete the Githyanki Egg quest in a peaceful way, but for those wanting to romance Lae’zel you get her approval if you pick the right dialogue choice when obtaining the egg. Also, after you give the egg to the woman that wants it, it will complete the quest so you can pickpocket it back from her. If you take it back and put it in Lae’zels inventory it adds a unique storyline in the epilogue. On a side note, for collectors of unique weapons and armor, if you take everything you can grab or steal (e.g. this includes cups, plates, incense, bones, etc.) you can sell it to vendors and will always have enough money to buy everything you want from any vendor.
thank you so much for your time and effort on this videos I'm to busy with life to be able to sit and fully enjoy this game but watchin your vids help me enjoy the game i try to not spoil myself but i cant play 5 hours and just wonder looking for all the quest so these vids help me alot thanks PS. I love how you just show us how to get to the quest and say now its for you to do love the commentary and choice of words wholesome thanks alot
The Lady who wants you to "acquire" a gith egg, also can sell you some good equipment, you only have to click on her barter icon on the bottom left of the screen. while in conversation with her.
Mountain Pass and Underdark (inc Grymforge) are both Act 1. I usually do Underdark up to catching the boat, then Mountain Pass and then Grymforge before moving on to Act 2: The Shadow Cursed Lands! You can get more Moon Lanterns (2 IIRC) and can release the pixie for another for EXP but can't release the other.
The mountain underpass is still act 1 the devs say so. The cursed moonlight towers area is act 2. You were meant to decide which route to take in act one, either the under dark or the mountain underpass both is still act 1.
I did self-same trial twice, the first one i did notice to pick up the Killer's Sweetheart ring, then i realize that after the enemy disarm my character, my weapon is gone aswell. So i reload then repeat the trial once more. At the second one, i forgot the ring because my focus is on the weapon. I watch this video when i am one step closer to baldur's gate, and remember i dont have the ring. I came back to the trial, and the ring is there. thank you brother. But I didnt get the permanent +2 Strenght :(
If you don't want to steal the egg from the githyanki, you can also roll a skill check to receive the money up front. It is quite high though so if you're not very charismatic you should probably use a wee bit of save scumming
In Araj, make sure to visit her with all your companions - you can get 200 gold and an elixir for each one. This includes all your party at camp so just go and swap them over
I’ve always considered the Underdark, mountain pass and the crèche part of act 1. Since you don’t get the achievement for completing act 1 until you actually enter the shadow cursed lands.
You can just convince Esther to give you the money up front with a persuasion check and then leave the gith egg in Lae'zel's inventory at the end of the game so she adopts it as her son. She tells you about it in the epilogue. This way, Omellum and the Brilliants don't get slaughtered and Xan has an actual fighting chance.
If you are looking to get loot off of Balthazar, get the dawn master mace. Invis somebody that can use it and post yourself in a way to blast him and not Nightsong and let him have it. Also spec Shadow heart to Life Cleric and let her radiant abilities go off.
I haven’t seen anything about this yet so I’m saying it just in case. In the middle of the four main buildings (masons, house of healing, toll house, waning moon) theres a Shar statue with a puzzle. All I’ll say is some of the rewards go away after a long rest so might want to rest before doing it.

I sent the hunter after Astarion on Act 1 and he is no longer with us, so I never met the chick who ask for a bite (maybe I just missed her, but I think since I didn't have Astarion she didn't spawn at all?). Also, it's best to not do the Balthazar lantern and get the concentration buff for Gale.
I don't mean to be pedantic, but isn't the Githyanki Creche still considered part of Act 1? I know it's a bit of a weird grey area, but I just thought I would mention, still a solid video with good information!
Didnt realise I could use the bell to get the pixie blessing again, but actually I dont think you need to. At least on my playthrough once Id got the blessing once I had no issues with the shadow curse when the blessing wore off
I released the pixie, left to the under dark and came back, the Harpers had gotten infected with shadow and I had to fight and unalive them. Did that happen to you as well?
All the harpers at Last Light Inn or diff ones? Either way no this did not happen to me, feel like thats to do with the selune priestess no the pixie?@@cthulhutentacles4994
Not sure if there is another way to get this item, but the Hat of Fire Acuity I believe can only be found in Act 2 by murdering a specific NPC in Last Light Inn. The hat gives arcane acuity when you deal fire damage (other items give arcane acuity but through weapon attacks).
if you do the egg quest you miss out on a lot of content in act 3 where the egg hatches and instantly kill the society members that have quests for you.
Im so glad you held back on the legendry maze spoilers. Just wow. I love this game even more When you said kamehameha for shadowheart. I was instantly sold. Haha
i convinced esther pay me before getting the egg and then never completed the quest so they wouldn't get attacked in act 3, then i get to sell that and the owlbear egg for extra money that i don't really need anyways
Just to let people know, you don't have to give the gold lady a single piece. I beat her pretty easily without giving her a single coin, just defeat the enemies around her and they'll take huge chunks of her health away until she's left as an empty husk with one HP and you can just tap her.

There's gloves from act1 that give advantage on sleight of hands checks. You have to pickpocket then off the vendor in the zhentarim hideout.
Yup just got the gloves yesterday :)
As someone whose rolled two 1's on advantage... SIX times, yes it's still possible to roll a 1. :(
I strongly recommend you don’t hand her in the egg. It doesn’t have a enjoyable ending and a lot of interesting characters are lost.
I gave her the egg then killed her😅
Why would I treating characters be lost
@@maxmurray8950 just don’t do it man. Honestly from what I’ve read the best thing you can do is keep the egg and leave it for the whole game in lazzels inventory. You get a nice line of dialogue at the end
I gave her the egg and then stole it back
@@wuwei473 interesting, was she in baldest gate when you got there?
Going to the underdark under level 4 is not advised unless you've got a cheese ready for the minotaurs.
You need one piece of Infernal Alloy for the Flawed heavy armor set. The Infernal Iron is used for Karlack's heart.
There is one more item that is actually easy to miss on Act 2, the Ritual Dagger of Shar
Not worth taking tho unless you’re a guild artisan
I pretty much missed all of the interactable Moonrise content in it's entirety. I allowed my main character rogue to be captured by trying to travel the path to Baldur's Gate (alone), broke out of prison, rescued the gnomes and tieflings and left. Then I felt like it was probably important to finish up the Shar dungeon before doing anything else in Moonrise, and you can guess the rest.
Yeah now the entire castle is Aggro and those zealots keep hitting me for like 30 each Turk
14:30 You can also push her off the roof and insta kill her if you are worried about not doing enough dmg or really need to save up(or just hide your money and give small amount)
you can also talk her to death if u have enough carisma (or just do it the hard way and kill all the skulls then kill her)
When we did it it didn’t insta kill her (patch maybe?) but she’s basically weak enough to kill in just a few hits if everyone but the pusher is ready outside the window.
in my playthrough, we went to the cursed lands area and did a majority of act 2 first, and then popped from their to the other side of the githyanki creche. So I don't think it matters too much which path you take, as long as you don't finish the selune temple in act 2 completely before you loop back to the mountain pass.
Hey man didn’t know you made other content outside of League content!! THIS IS SO GOOD AND HELPED ME OUT SO MUCH!!
I love this game so much, I wish I could take a full week off work to just play it.
This is perfect, I was looking for a video to watch while I eat just before finishing up Act 2
Or at least what I think is close to the end of Act 2
Killer's Sweetheart Ring is available after finishing the trial and leaving.
I went back and the ring was still on the ground!
Man, all those people must’ve partied *really* hard, shows just how wild BG3 is XD
Another weapon to keep in mind is the drake glaive sold by the zent moonrise. The glaive itself is meh, but element ability to give +1 and an element damage boost can be used on other weapons until the next long rest without concentration
Fantastic content man - very thorough without feeling like a tutorial
I look forward to your act III video once I get there to make sure I don't miss out on anything notable!
Still watching these in December. I appreciate your spoiler free humility.
you can give the devil foid mask to dammon like the infernal iron that you find in grymforge so he can forge loot.
He forge one of the best "bombs" in the game. I had two - not sure ther are more.
@@MareczqZglos I think I had around 5 masks, but after holding on to them for a while I ended up selling all except 1... RIP
Regarding Geringothe Thorm (or whatever her name is) I killed her without giving up my gold. I happened to have summoned creatures with everyone and death ward on two characters (and potions of Supreme Healing helped), she also started with hundreds of hp, but you can do it.
i just pushed her away, then insta kill to get the achievment.
I talked her into dying lol
Same
You can just have one character move around and kill the visages in the different corners of the house to reduce her max health by 100 each.
Regarding the Killer's Sweethart ring, if you missed it and left it in the Gauntlet of Sharr, you can still get it by just going back :) I just did
Do the mountain Creche and get the Blood of Lothander before going into the Underdark.
That weapon blinds many of the fights down there.
Thanks for the tip! I missed the Killers Sweetheart ring and went back, indeed it still remains!
4:50 if you give her the real gith egg you screw yourself over for act 3, just give the owlbear one, youll be thankful later
Great job again. Thanks for this. I already started my second playtrough and I am following your video about ACT 1 now!!
There is infernal alloy you can get to make all 3 pieces of equipment from Dammon. In the Grim area, 3 speech checks from the Dwarf in the rubble or buy it from him for under 300 gold.
Got recommended your first video today before work then just getting out of work I got recommended this one! So sick!
Excellent advice. Thanks for not spoiling too much!
3:37, My favorite way to do this is sell both eggs to different people(i jsut dont like her) and pass a check to get the money upfront.
Bonus tip for Quartermaster Talli. Speak with her with every character and she will give 40 camp supplies to each of them, to a max of 3 iirc.
Great style! Just a hints nearly without spoilers! Great work, man!
Big thanks. Your videos is my check list for second play through
Bro, you're taking off! These videos are fantastic! Cheers!
Thanks for making these man! Really helping me throughout my play through. Looking forward to the act 3 one!
thank you so much for your time and effort on this videos I'm to busy with life to be able to sit and fully enjoy this game but watchin your vids help me enjoy the game i try to not spoil myself but i cant play 5 hours and just wonder looking for all the quest so these vids help me alot thanks
PS.
I've played about 100hrs and still havnt made it to act 2. Keep starting new games. It's like an addiction at this point
The laugh after "and it would be rude to wake her up" got me 😂
Mountain Pass and Underdark (inc Grymforge) are both Act 1.
I went underground can I still go baxk ans go underpath??
I did. As long as you don't go into shadowlands, you can do both.
Went back to self same location and got the killer sweetheart ring. Glad i watched this !
Also, Quartermaster Tali gives each party member a free Supply Pack if you use each to talk to her.
7:20 thank you, I appreciate showing how to get to the puzzle, but not immediately how to solve the puzzle
I won't say how but there's an easy work around if you can't solve the puzzle that made me not realize there was a puzzle my first playthrew
good, and I saw you made act 3. I look forward to watching it
Don’t have to give that lady gold to kill her. Kill the head minions when the fight starts. If you kill all 7 of em, her health goes down to 6 hp.
From my experience giving the egg to Lady Ester leads to more suffering later)
I haven’t seen anything about this yet so I’m saying it just in case. In the middle of the four main buildings (masons, house of healing, toll house, waning moon) theres a Shar statue with a puzzle. All I’ll say is some of the rewards go away after a long rest so might want to rest before doing it.
nice Video dude, really liked your style of Comedy and explaing, seems natural not like alot og other Guys. Keep on rocking an next time maybe set the like goal to 3.000 =D
Put me on to a lot of cool things I def would’ve missed ! Appreciate the video 👍👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great video- thank you!
15:47 well, when you asked so nicely - subscribed :) and good luck with channel
I don't mean to be pedantic, but isn't the Githyanki Creche still considered part of Act 1? I know it's a bit of a weird grey area, but I just thought I would mention, still a solid video with good information!
Didnt realise I could use the bell to get the pixie blessing again, but actually I dont think you need to. At least on my playthrough once Id got the blessing once I had no issues with the shadow curse when the blessing wore off
It does dissapear if you travel to an area not in the shadow cursed lands. But yes if you stay in the area it never goes away.
Yea my buff went away and I never reapplied it but never had trouble with the shadow curse from that point@@Kemachris
I completely missed the mountain overpass because I was having too much fun in the cursed lands
Not sure if there is another way to get this item, but the Hat of Fire Acuity I believe can only be found in Act 2 by murdering a specific NPC in Last Light Inn. The hat gives arcane acuity when you deal fire damage (other items give arcane acuity but through weapon attacks).
This Mage Hat may be the single best fire mage hat in the game, straight up. Its so fucking insane because it stacks infinetly in battle
I love videos like this because even though I try and look for every possible item/quest there’s still tons you can miss 😲
i didn’t find the Gymforge till my 3rd play through, i didn’t know there was a boat at the beach
if you do the egg quest you miss out on a lot of content in act 3 where the egg hatches and instantly kill the society members that have quests for you.
Eh. I'm used to missing out on content since i decided i wanted Minthara as a party member. No regrets.
I never do the lathander quest, I just take the mace then attack the lasers. It’s fast and easy.
First time I did it I actually chose to let the church collapse so as to bury the githyanki creche.
Dammon can also craft items for you from the masks you can pick up at Auntie Ethel's.
Great content dude! Keep it up. I look forward to your upcoming vids, thanks for all the tips!
if you have lazel in your party she can keep the egg and the storyline that goes with that is worth more then the gold
SHIELD BASH works! Get the shield from LLI merchant. And dont forget the cape too.
The diggy dwarf picture earned you a like from me
QQ I didn't know you could extend action bar up... would've made life so much easier, especially for Gale with his infinite spells
Im so glad you held back on the legendry maze spoilers. Just wow. I love this game even more
When you said kamehameha for shadowheart. I was instantly sold. Haha
I just went back and got the Killer's sweetheart. It was still there.
New here. 300 likes? Smashed that, brother! 😂 Great video. The amount of work put in is not lost on my tentacle brain.
What a great guide, I have seen no other like this 🎉❤
i convinced esther pay me before getting the egg and then never completed the quest so they wouldn't get attacked in act 3, then i get to sell that and the owlbear egg for extra money that i don't really need anyways
For dammon i was able to give him the admantine slag too to craft the dusk armors
I get most of them , but i AGAIN misses free +2 str buff omg .
awesome content man much appreciated
Just to let people know, you don't have to give the gold lady a single piece. I beat her pretty easily without giving her a single coin, just defeat the enemies around her and they'll take huge chunks of her health away until she's left as an empty husk with one HP and you can just tap her.
Definitely would watch an OP gear/skill combo video from you! Great videos man just subscribed
