I am wanting to see which will end up being better between the Intel 20 Core Ultra 2 I9/I7 processors and the Ryzen 9950X3D processor when it is eventually released as I plan on doing my major upgrade next year.😁
Hey Jason, the Ryzen 7 5800X has been around $120-128 since a week ago on Newegg! *Around +200 bucks price PLUS "$81 off w/ promo code FTT224DX759, limited offer"
Waiting for the 9800X3D is tempting. I actually think they (AMD) has learned from their total flop of release of the 9K series and that the 9800X3D will actually be a very good processor. Perhaps a bit expensive, but still good. The Ultra Core processors from Intel will be good. They can't really survive another CPU failure so they will be very careful with these processors, and they will be just as reliable as Intel platforms has traditionally been. They won't break the performance barriers with the first gen though. The benchmarks that Intel has presented already show that. But they will perform at a very decent power draw compared to the 13'th and 14'th gen processors. But if you want the best games performance the X3D processors from AMD will be this generations kings. The 7800X3D already spanks the fastest Ultra Core processors in Intels own tests, and the 9800X3D will be faster than that. Now should I really wait for either of these? Well no, I don't think that's going to be a good thing as I know I won't be spewing the money needed for a real high performance GPU over Nvidia. They are simply to expensive even at the 4070 range. So I could have the fastest gaming CPU and only run into the block wall of GPU bottle neck. As for normal use performance I really don't need all that much. The only thing performance limited I do is playing games, and spending thousands of dollar on a GPU is just not an option. And here is where I think AMD is doing the right thing not trying to meet Nvidia in the high end GPU market. The 5090 and 5080 will be so expensive it's ridiculous, and the market will not be all that large for these. If AMD can dish out the performance for cards more in line with the price for 5070 and spank them badly at that then they will be selling a lot of those cards. Or at least increase their market by a solid amount. Another to look for is the Intel Battlemage series. With any kind of luck they will be a much better alternative than the Alchemist series was. They have a lot better drivers and they have had time to reinterpret the hardware solutions. I really hope they are revealed to be a very decent option at a decent price point. Anything that can chew off a bit of the Nvidia market cap is a good thing. And this comes from a Gou who has had Nvidia cards in all his computers since 3dfx folded. I like their cards and their drivers. I don't like the total control of the market they have held for the last ten years. They need more competitions. If they want to sell AI accelerators then let them do that. They can make their money anyway they want as long as it isn't by sucking the gamer market dry. They are making hardware and software for AI applications but they built it all on selling GPU's to gamers. Either they serve us or we don't pay them. Right now I hope AMD and Intel will take a larger share of the gamers market.
its crazy how the 7800x3d was just like $430 on amazon the other day when i was making builds in pc part picker then i woke up yesterday to them either being sold out completely or $800
yeah i jumped on the bandwagon when it was like 350$. I knew it was go up when the 9k series dropped, i knew they was gonna be only 10% faster with a higher price.
I legit just bought the bundle at micro center with the Ryzen 7 7800x3D a couple days ago and now they are out of stock, finally building my PC for the first time
@PCBuilderChannel Just purchased 1st build ... Went with 7800x3d paired with the 7900GRE thanks for your help in picking parts , assembly next week once my AIO arrives !
Dude my brother did the same build recently and we both are new to PCs so we had no idea how hard it was to get this cpu, he got it no problem but now I want to build a similar build and don’t want to spend 100+ what he did just a few weeks ago for the same part lol
@@luvedrage3578 I refused to pay the upscaled price for thr 7800x3d so I waited for micro center to get a shipment in and snagged one for $440 when they opened lol good luck!
I just built a new PC this week. Retired my overclocked 8600k and settled for a Ryzen 7500f from Aliexpress for $125. Very happy and I now have an upgrade path.
@@Daniel-yz5qj I've ordered CPUs from JS-Computer PC Hardware Parts Shop1102738350 PC Parts Cpu-Top SZCPU For sure there are more, just look at their reviews, prioritizing choice sellers and free returns
I am SO glad I got my 7800X3D back in July, I paid around like $330? I got it at Microcenter within a bundle for $500 with a motherboard and RAM. The bundle had 6000 megatransfer CL32 RAM, so I may upgrade that soon, but I haven't played any games or done anything where performance has suffered greatly.
$100 for a CPU that can check email, surf, UA-cam and still games... I think a lot of people buy more than they need. At least for a child's machine or Grandparents. That would be perfect with better performance than has ever existed in my lifetime.
You're acting like the 5600x is a Celeron 💀. It can still crush any game it needs to and plenty to meet recommend specs for most games. Gpu prices though...
I can't see how rushing the 9800X3D to market is good. It miffs those who were waiting on Ryzen 9 X3D, and brings with it all the potential issues that come with rushing a product.
No. If AMD wants to capitalize on profit and share, they need to rush out the 9800X3D. Matter of fact, they should release the 9850X3D as a halo product and stunt whatever the blue team has.
So happy that I got the deal of a lifetime yesterday seeing the Ryzen 7 7800x3d sold out. Got an RTX 4080 Super + 7800x3d build with an msi maestro case and a 42” lg oled tv all for 1900! Both were used for less than 2 months with all original boxes! Might upgrade if the new Ryzen cpus perform well
@@Gokulze This was from Facebook Marketplace, so 1900 was the total that I paid for the PC and TV. In my honest opinion though, I don’t like to buy secondhand items, certainly not fully built PCs and an OLED tv, but this deal was north of $3900 pre tax when I saw it and I got it for $1900, which absolutely insane. I managed to re allocate my budget into a better monitor, better keyboard (Wooting 80HE), and was able to even buy a brand new laptop (which was also on sale). I now use this PC both for my work and gaming needs, which is why the only thing I would change about this build is surprisingly the CPU. I probably would have gotten the Ryzen 5 7600X just to get by, then upgraded to the Ryzen 9 9800x3d immediately when they come out because leaks indicate that their performance will be MUCH better for productivity, and slightly better in gaming, at only a $100 different in MSRP. Hold off on buying one for now, wait for the new AMD cpus (and possibly the 5090 if you’re looking for the best pc money can buy), and go from there. Future proofing at this price point is paramount, but this deal was too good to pass up for me.
Here in the U.K., the only places that still have a stock of 7800X3Ds start at £394.99 and range all the way up to £532.74. Last month I found two for £250 and another for £320 but I don't see the point of buying a 7800X3D when the 9800X3D will be released soon hopefully by Black Friday.
@@HideNameMe yes, I grabbed the Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AC Ice.. as I want to rebuild all white! Also grabbed some DDR5 6000 RAM from G. Skill in white as well.
I saw that, however it is 5600 CL28 so the latency is still 10ns, though 6000 frequency is more the sweet spot. I don't expect more than a couple % difference. The biggest difference will be not cherry picking the best applications to show on a slide, which we'll get with 3rd party reviews.
Intel allowed 250W power consumption .. meanwhile AMD's Turin is crushing (384t with 500W that's 1.3W/t and it blows Intel's Granite Rapids away). We KNOW Zen5 is bandwidth starved and that AMD has a track record of 5800x3D, 7800x3D and 5600x3D crushing price performance of high end i7/i9
Just bought the 7600X3D. Really good so far! Looks like it's just a little slower then the 7800X3D in most games. Good thing you can just order it online here in Germany :-)
Jason Thanks for the videos! i have decided to buy a 4080 super + 7800x3D next month. hopefully it will last me years. my only issue is finding a good monitor with it, i refuse to buy OLEDs now. i will wait couple years when tech is better.
@@matrixist 7800x3d has been having stock issue since late august, what are you talking about lol has nothing to do with people panic buying because of the strike, and everything to do with the 9000 series flopping right after the 13/14th gen issues started popping up, on top of the 9800x3d being close to release and 7800x3d production stopping/slowly trickling out
Still using i7-4790K+1070, I will wait for 9800X3D and 5080... I hope it will take no more than 6 months :D Have built gaming PC for my wife with 7800X3D+4070 Ti Super, so having 1 generation difference will help to postpone next upgrades a bit, at least not two at once :)
I upgraded my 2020 premium parts AM4 build CPU from a 2600X to a 5600X3D for $119. I bought the bundle and sold the new board and RAM. It competes well in games against the standard Ryzen 9000 series using a RTX 4090 but, on a mainstream GPU performance is near identical. AM4 allowed for some of the best value opportunities to ever exist in DIY PC gaming, Micro Center raised it up to pure insanity.
Midrange dual tower like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE or Phantom Spirit. Could get away with a budget single tower but might be a bit noisy.
I recently upgraded my CPU but decided to stay on the am4 platform here was my reasoning. (1) I didn't have to replace my motherboard or memory (2) doing a full Build takes time and is expensive ( 3) figured I could just upgrade to am4 and then wait for the AM6 socket to be produced in 2028. Then do a full upgrade. Allowing me to save up over the next three and a half years (4) I've got a good GPU in that RX7800 XT dual from Asus and it's a decent pairing with my current CPU since I do mainly video editing and a little light game
Upgraded a 2600x to a 5600, huge diffrence in games and apps. I also got a 3060 ti used for 200 dollars, huge deal. My pc got 300% faster in games. Probably gonna upgrade to AM5 in 4-5 years. Love your content, it's very well documented! Cheers!
@@JeffreyBernabe That’s a huge upgrade dude! Nice job! I wanted to invest as low as possible and make a huge diffrence. In your case, i think that you will be good for 7 years for sure 😂. Just upgrading the GPU maybe in 3-4 years depending on what you have now.
Really appreciate all the notes on production side of things! I'm still unsure about the future system (from scratch) where the only real concern is production (gaming is good enough on those systems imo anyway), so while I know it's not your focus and overall it always depends how much it matters what you focus on, I'm thankful that you include those notes in and talk about it!
Happy to help! The good news is a strong gaming pc is also a strong production pc. I recommend little tweaks for production around cores mostly like we go over here. And check out our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for more, we highlight adjustments we'd make for production focused there too
Extremely unlikely the new arrow lake socket will be reused by nova lake in 2-3 years with nothing in between, intel builds are for people who want to upgrade non video card parts every 6-10 years and know they will last forever without issue (this last 13/14 gen debacle being the first exception where intel had major longevity issues like amd builds usually have). If you want to be upgrading often then you always go AMD.
Just upgraded from a i5 11400F with a 2060, got a new motherboard Asrock Riptide, 7500F cpu, and 7800XT gpu, pairing them with a 850W corsair power supply. Very happy so far!
Hi Jason & editors. Fantastic video as always. Just wanted to point out a subtle typo (probably) at the end of your description. You mentioned this video covers best cpu for June instead of October. Just something I noticed which is still insignificant but yeah ^_^
That's great to hear! Thanks for letting me know it means a lot. Congrats on your build and show off a build pic if you like on twitter/threads @pcbuilderjason
Hey Jason, I enjoyed your video as always. I'm about to do a new build and will keep my overclocked 3090 ti but move from my 11900k (OC 5.1) to a new processor. My application is Video editing (feature films) and 4k gaming. Trust issues aside I was considering getting a 14900k for the film work. Do you feel like a new 14900k built from the start with the latest BIOS updates would be a problem? Thanks and keep up the great work.
@@PCBuilderChannel Thank you Jason, I didn't realizing they were coming this month which works perfect as I have a friend buying my old rig in November. Thanks again.
From your chart the 7950x3d got the same score as the 7800x3d. Is that accurate? Price to performance if it equals gaming to the 7800x3d buy is also great production cpu wouldn't that be a big mention? For the win period of its same gaming performance and productivity
Got a strange question! My 12th gen 1700K, with a 3060ti, 32gig system, runs very hot, with gpu temps approaching 100C, when playing flight simulator. It is in a mid-size PC 'case' without much venting. In fact, the game would shut down periodically, until I added an additional fan at the top. Pulled out my older 3rd gen core i7, with a rtx 1660 gpu, 32 gig system. Its in a full-size PC case with tons of venting. Runs cool as a cucumber with the rtx 1660 (also quieter since its fans are much larger) never exceeding 76.2C, while playing flight simulator with similar (though slightly downgraded settings). Do you think the 3rd gen core i7 machine would throttle down or increase my MSFS performance, if I put the 3060ti in it instead? I'd essentially be putting a new 3060ti, in an older 3rd gen core I7 machine? In both machines MSFS is on a M2 Mvne drive, all by itself. I don't play any other computer games.
Hey Jason, I have a budget of $6,000 for a gaming PC. I want to build it with the top of the line GPU and CPU. I've been saving the money for a while and I really want to spoil myself with the PC so thats why i want to go eith everything top of the line as far as performance in gaming. Ao my question to you is, do you think that I should wait for all these new CPUs that are coming out from Intel and AMD and alsom the GPUs thats arr coming out from Nvidia? It should i just go ahead and buy the Ryzen 7800X3D and a RTX 4090 and build the PC with that?
I agree with Ty, rumor is the 9800X3D will come out this fall so might as well wait a few weeks and see what happens there. I would however grab a 4090.
There were some excellent deals for 5700X3D and 5600X combo deals. NE offered 32GB RAM kit initially but replaced it with a 1TB NVME with the X3D. And B550 mobo, 16GB RAM and 500GB NVME but later remove it with the 5600X. If you want the CPUs individually, there are elsewhere to get it cheaper. The 5900X was also a good deal for $200.
Was looking at the am5 platform a 7700x upgrading my am4, i decided to pop a 5700x3d in there and undervolt it. I think im good till am6 now for gaming everything runs ultra at 1440 no problems.
Agreed, especially AMD. I didn't find anything AMD that was price/performance competitive to Intel. My upgrade dollars went to the Intel LGA 1700 platform.
in the uk the current platform cost for the i5 12400f is way cheaper than the 5600x would it be a good idea to get the i5 12400f and pair it with arx 6750xt?
You certainly can and it will get about the same performance as the 5600X. The only issue is the 5600X has an upgrade path on the same platform with the 5700X3D. The 12400F really doesn't due to the degradation issues of 13th and 14th gen Intel. So not necessarily a deal breaker but important to note.
I know for the Micro Center 7700X + B650 motherboard + 32GB DDR5-6000 ram bundle it's $350 and they dropped the price of the 7700X to $101.30 if you get the bundle.
@@PCBuilderChannel is there a link/video of your build? I’m thinking upgrading to a similar GPU, since we have almost the same CPU (7600X). Or maybe wait for the new GPUs coming soon…
just starting to buy parts for a new build, was going to get the 7800x3d,but like you said :( so hoping the 9800x3d is not outrageous. question though ..i'm planning on the nvidia 5090 (will sell arm and leg) ..which power supply would you recommend? Or should i wait until we see exactly what power connections it will need if different? Also recommended ram for the auros 670 elite ax MB I bought ..love your channel
I still cant believe i got a 5600x3d mobo RAM bundle from micro center last November for 290. I recently swapped to 32gb of RAM so technically 320 after I sold the 16gb kit. With performance right between the 5700x3d and 7600/x, and my $40 cooler, unless I'm missing something, that's a gaming price performance of $2.14-$2.34 depending on 16 or 32 GB of RAM. I paired it with a 6800 for $410 that I got last year too. I would have loved a 6800xt or a little better but I didn't have the budget at the time and my old mobo for my FX 8350 died and my rx 580 wasn't gonna cut it anymore.
I managed to grab a 7900X3D off Amazon for 433 USD after not being able to find the 7800X3D anywhere. Since I couldn't wait for luck to happen (I was abroad in the US 3 weeks ago with a limited time-window to complete my setup purchase), I affirm that I couldn't be happier with my choice. I've never seen a 7800X3D performing though - and I guess I never will. 🙂
Feeling a lot better after picking up the 7700X for £219 for a 1440p 144hz Monster Hunter Wilds build on Prime Day honestly. Hope the GPU’s keep getting slashed.. wish buying a 7900XT was a no-brainer too because of the sales but unfortunately, DLSS and NVENC are important to me :( Great video nonetheless, keeping it locked here for sure to get the best deals for the rest of my build, thanks Jason!! 😇
For those lucky enough to live near-ish to a MicroCenter, they have a bundle deal for the 7800x3d, either a b650-a or b650-e board, and ddr5 ram for either $600 or $650. For those wanting to upgrade off AM4 and wanting to get a good deal on the 7800x3d, that could be an option to look at.
Hi, i look at reviews for like a month now, i want to build a pc for productivity and doing light gaming and want to ask for your opinion, is it better to wait for the 265k and pair it with a 4070super or the 7900xt is doing a good job and on the productivity side. Appreciate you very much

Good information today, TU. I think covering preorder lolcow prices for intel ultra is pretty much useless. I also think intel is looking to refine this latest cpu in future generations perhaps making future cpus interesting but this gen a pass. I’ve read conflicting information about the 13400, some are saying it’s unaffected by the microcode problems because it’s a rebadged 12400. What do you think?
I was looking last month for a 7800x3d for my first build and just kept checking on Amazon(sold out). I got lucky and spotted a 7900x3d for $340 sold by Amazon and just got that instead, I figured a $100 discount(at the time) should help close the gap on that price to performance.
I am on a 12400, paired with 4070 ti. 12400 has been wonderful, crazy its $110 now.. with me being on a lga 1700 socket, and there is no huge difference with 12 thru 14 series as a gamer.. with the 12900k in stock everywhere for $260 USD or the 12700k being only $219.. i'd probably buy two extra years off of this platform instead of having one meaningful generation and disposable pc
I don't recommend it personally. It will bottleneck at the same GPU level as a 5600 and for the price you should get into AM5 platform. If you are upgrading a AM4 build I'd go 5700X3D, if buying new in AM4 I'd stick with 5600 or get to 7600.
I have a question. So I have a i5 8600k and a few months ago I got a Radeon RX 6800. Obviously I am bottlenecking and I am looking to upgrade my CPU. I missed the sale for the i7 12700k for $166. Right now it goes for $212 the KF version, but the i9 12 900KF is $235. So should I go for the i9 or the wait for another sale on the 12700k?
I think because it's not seen as good at gaming compaired to 5800x3d? It's also usually more expensive. If i remember the 5950x had fairly low clocks compaired the the 5800x3d? The 7950x and 7800x3d are closer in clocks but the extra cache really helps in a bunch of games.
5500 still makes sense for super budget builds but there's no scenario where I recommend 5900X or 5950X in 2024. They both bottleneck at the same GPU level as a 5600 and for the money you pay for them you should get a 7600 instead and get to the latest platform. They just don't make price to performance sense in 2024
@PCBuilderChannel yeah getting onto am5 is a much better idea. Upgrade the 7600 later when you find a price/performance sweet spot. I checked prices about a year ago and am5 was only a little more than am4 back then. Maybe $150 more? But all new and ram upgrafe from 16gb to 32gb. So when you factor that it wasn't bad to upgrade my brother from r9 2700x 16gb to r5 7600x 32gb. That little more was worth it.
do i need to change my CPU from 13600k to 7800x3d, i pair my cpu with 4090 (i started with i513600k and 4070 then i got good deals on 4090 and own it) , i mainly use for gaming, streaming and editing video (using Davinci Resolve)?
I would wait for the 9800X3D or go with the 9900X if you're going to the switch. There have been issues with the 13th and 14th Gen K CPUs but if you haven't had those issues and are happy with performance you don't have to change.

For a new build, even though it is cheap, the B550 and X570 platforms are limited on the number of M.2 drives so it is hard to recommend over something like the 12700K (which is insanely cheap) for production, and the 5900X is only about as fast as the 5600X in gaming. Again, this is for new builds only, not evaluating if you already own it.

Naming nomenclature, Ultra is better than 'i'. But I'm not sure why they didn't just go with Ultra 9 290K, 270k, 250k? Makes identification of the series a bit easier. They dropped hyper-threading, which seems odd to me. I guess that would also add efficiency to the chips? I'm just skeptical of Intel with the 13th and 14th gen issues.

You really need to specify if you want Nvidia or AMD these days with raytracing. Nvidia i would definitely wait for the 5000 series of cards. They're gonna have half the power consumption than the 4000 series. If prices aren't crazy higher than the 4000 series the 5000 series would be a no brainer. Certainly if you've videocards for a few years in your system. 6800xt or 7800xt for AMD. At least get 16gb of memory for AMD cards if you are spending around 400. I bought a 6750xt a while ago and wish i had bought the 6800XT. Still a good card the 6750 xt by the way. Most games on 1440p.
As I said on another channel, Arrow Lake is innovation, and it will reflect on next gen after this generation comes out. 24 core they are releasing will set a mark on how to do things moving further. Alder Lake did not work on Raptor Lake, too many cores, too much voltage. Arrow Lake seems like a good step in right direction
Im a first-day buyer of the 7800X3D and was hoping Intel would finally be able to deliver a decent gaming CPU with the newest architecture, but am very disappointed. Am looking for a CPU that is more than decent in the gaming department but with a lower power consumption than the 7800X3D that also needs a high-end CPU cooling system to 1. keep temperaturs down and 2. provide a pretty silent gaming session. Intel says no. Now I hope the newest X3D will do better on the mentioned 2 points.
So the 7800X3D is the fastest gaming CPU due to the price/performance but what if the prices end up equially or pretty close as a 7900X3D or 7950X3D? then we could say by the price now the 7900X3D or 7950X3D are the fastest gaming CPU? or is just because how the 7800X3D is made that is more good against the others for gaming? or simply the price? because if I can get a 7900X3D or 7950X3D for gaming should I ? or still a 7800X3D due to its architecture is better for gaming and still beats the others?
Sadly no the 7800X3D is just more powerful in gaming than the 7900X3D and 7950X3D. But yes on our formula if the prices keep adjusting its possible those will pull ahead in terms of "price to performance"

What are your thoughts on Intel Core Ultra CPUs? Are you waiting for the Ryzen 9800X3D? Did you get a deal over Prime Day? Waiting for Black Friday? Tell your story in a new comment below!
YES 9800X3D bekliyorum ama umarım bütçeme uygun fiyatla piyasaya çıkar sen, TÜRKİYE den severek izliyorum senden çok şey öğrenmeye başladım kanka

I can't see how rushing the 9800X3D to market is good. It miffs those who were waiting on Ryzen 9 X3D, and brings with it all the potential issues that come with rushing a product.
Miffs them? Why?
No. If AMD wants to capitalize on profit and share, they need to rush out the 9800X3D. Matter of fact, they should release the 9850X3D as a halo product and stunt whatever the blue team has.
Intel new gen is a dud, no performance boost, such a dud that it pushed sales of the 7800x3d

Nice!
Enjoy!
How much did you spend in total after tax and can you drop the link for the case please

Then do a full upgrade. does intel change their socket every two or three years? I'm amd so I really want to try intel.
Every two to three generations but we don't have any word on if these new CPUs will have another generation on this socket.
Hope the GPU’s keep getting slashed.. wish buying a 7900XT was a no-brainer too because of the sales but unfortunately, DLSS and NVENC are important to me :(
Great video nonetheless, keeping it locked here for sure to get the best deals for the rest of my build, thanks Jason!!
Appreciate you very much
You certainly can wait but the 7900XT is a good choice too.
Yup..... totally happy with my 7600x
It's amazing!
So glad I grabbed a 5800X3D a few months ago.
cant seem to find one here in denmark!
@@johnbernhardtsen3008 same. As far as I know, they're all sold out here in the US. I was lucky to grab one before the prices skyrocketed.

I'm going with the 5 7600x, is thre a better cpu?
I wanted to buy the 7 7800x3d but is a 600 on Amazon..
Good information today, TU. I think covering preorder lolcow prices for intel ultra is pretty much useless. I also think intel is looking to refine this latest cpu in future generations perhaps making future cpus interesting but this gen a pass. Even though my rig is a 10400 everything in me says just wait. If the gun was to my head to build today I would buy a 650e motherboard with the Kmart special Ali Express 8400f for sub $100. Then a future x3d when the products are out and pricing has stabilized.
Wanted to get a 7950x to go in my streaming/content creation build but the SI sold out of them! Should I just go 9950x?! Pairing it with an 7900 xtx
You can! See our 9950X build guide for more. You might also want to check out our Best Prebuilt Gaming PC 2024 video
@@PCBuilderChannel I was really asking in the sense of core parking as I know that the 7950x didn’t have it but the 9950x does have core parking
Jason I have a question I never hear you mention the Ryzen 7 8700F. Any thoughts on this cpu I purchased for $245?
Return it. It lacks integrated graphics and for gaming is slower than desktop CPU such as the 7000 series with the l3 cache cut in half.
@@itsatrap4986 I bought a 7800xt graphics to pair with it. Is that not enough. It says it can run PCIe 4.0 at 20 lanes
@@panamapat507 no. It's not a great CPU You should return that for a 7600/7600X instead if you can.
Yes but Ryzen desktop 7000 or 9000 series are pcie gen 5 compatible with more lanes. I'd would return it for a 7500f for $120 or 7600/X if you prefer retail.@@panamapat507
I would return it for sure. Terrible for gaming. It has limited pcie connectivity for the GPU and should be avoided
9950x beats the 14900ks in almost every game, plus it's amazing for productivity. It's expensive but if you do both it's the chip.
Jason, what are your thoughts on the 5900x?
I'd wait for another sale. Or you could look at the 12600K.
What Ty said. the 12900K requires silly amounts of cooling and power. I'd go 12600K or 12700K
just curious, why is ryzen 5950x not included? because 5500 is AM4 and so is 5950x
That little more was worth it.
do i need to change my CPU from 13600k to 7800x3d, i pair my cpu with 4090 (i started with i513600k and 4070 then i got good deals on 4090 and own it)
, i mainly use for gaming, streaming and editing video (using Davinci Resolve)?
I would wait for the 9800X3D or go with the 9900X if you're going to the switch.
There have been issues with the 13th and 14th Gen K CPUs but if you haven't had those issues and are happy with performance you don't have to change.

Thank you for doing best CPU / GPU videos . I was be able to choose my best build . Keep up the good work !
Glad you like them!! :)
Jason what are your thoughts on the Ryzen 5900X? Didn't see it on the spreadsheet.
@@PCBuilderChannel I don't own the 5900X but I do have the 5600 (non-X) and was wondering if it was a viable upgrade path instead of the 5700X3D. Not looking to change out the motherboard at this time.
@@CreepyBlackDudeJason would say no. Unless you need those cores for Production Work.
@PCBuilderChannel quick question. In terms of perfomance what you think ryzen 5 7600x with 7900 xt? Is Worthy actual value for $650? instead of going for 7900 gre on $550?

That's better than its been for sure!
I got a 7950X3D sold by Amazon for $450 w/ 2 games. Absolutely stoked I pulled the trigger when I did considering the 9000X3D leaks and how 7000 has improved over time.

I see the $450 7950x3d on Amazon right now. The issue I noticed is that the seller only has one review, and it was about napkins. It looks fishy to me.
@@gpcarnage4881 Yeah it’s fake. I got mine direct from Amazon when you order you gotta make sure of that. I know you can report the seller, but like a brand new seller is gonna be way harder to pursue a refund from vs something sold directly from/by amazon

7700XT or 6800
7700 XT or if you can reach up, the 7800 XT especially with the game bundles (note Amazon is not selling some with game bundles, but Newegg does).
