Hello Casey. When I was a kid back in the early 1970s, We had two of the Gravelly Custom Convertibles which was also a two wheeled tractor with the pull rope starter and a sulky so that you could ride.
The Gravely featured in the video was a later model being that it had the Kohler engine because the older Gravely tractors used an actual Gravely engine.
The round mower head on the other Gravely tractor was mostly used as a “Brushcutter” head for rough mowing applications and often were equipped with the debris deflection chains when used for right of way mowing for highway department usage.
Gravely offered the very heavy duty blades with a dual blade variation which would grind up anything just short of the Titanic it seemed.
The optional secondary blade was formed where it would cross the other blade, but most generally one blade would work quite well.
The amount of side shields determined whether it was for rough mowing or for finish mowing.
Gravely offered many different attachments which were interchangeable between many of the two and four wheeled tractors that had the 4 bolt pto flange.
Wow, I wish that I was closer to you, Because I would love to have both of the Gravely tractors.
Those tractors are not toys and can be very dangerous for someone who do not understand how the Gravely tractors are configured and what they are capable of doing because they don’t bog down - They keep on trucking.

Thanks for all of the info! Yes many people don't realize what these are and how dangerous they can be. They are some beasts of walk behinds, I think they weigh 800lbs before attachments! I didn't have it with me but there was also a 2nd sulky and a row cutter attachments for planting seeds in a field or garden. Someone will find these worth buying! I have no idea what they are worth. The brush cutter vid will be out Wednesday!

    Casey
How Can You Say You Basically Rebuilt The Deck ? All You Did Was Free Up The Spindles & Put A Couple Of Belts On It. If You Would Have Done A Rebuild You Would Have Put New Bearings In The Spindles. You Should Have Replaced The Wheel Spring, But You Decided To Take It Off & Leave It Off ? It Had Dual Wheels On It, You Really Should Have Asked If The Lady Wanted A Couple Of Tires To Put Back On It ? Did You Ask Her ? Did You Check The Gearbox For Oil ? I'm Sorry Casey Sometimes Your Work Is A Bit Questionable.. I Don't Mean To Be Too Critical , But You Should not Call That A Deck Rebuild, Because It Was Not. It Was A Deck Fix. Also Did You Check The Gearbox On The Front For Oil ?

I have reflected the deck rebuild question in the video title as you are right. Gearbox was checked and oil was added to it. I replaced the wheel spring after filming this video. In regards to the tires, I recommended a tire shop do them as they could do them cheaper and much faster than I could, and would have more than doubled the repair costs to the point where she would have been close to breaking even. The person buying this is likely buying it for the nostalgia and will likely not mind working on the machine to keep it going. On that premise is why I did what I did on this repair. That and to preserve as much originality as possible with the machine.
