- The Huawei P30 Pro flagship has a huge battery, absentee bezels, and a promising new quad-camera system. It will compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series for supremacy in the high-end Android smartphone market across Europe and Asia. Huawei is also launching a non-Pro P30, which scales the screen size down to 6.1 inches, has a smaller 3,650mAh battery, and accepts slower 22.5W charging, as well as the Huawei FreeLace earphones.

What features are you excited about with the P30 Pro?
Don't know, but what I don't like is the water droplet notch. I've tried that notch, and it's very unattractive

Those embargoes are such a strange thing. And media companies respecting them are even stranger. To have information and to sit on it because a corporate overkords told them too? If all or most media simply ignored those, they would cease to exist.
@@KeepCalmAndTravelOn It gives companies the possibility to give devices to reviewers while retaining control over the timing. Otherwise, Huawei (or whoever) would just give out phones after the embargo and then it would be a race which channel puts the video out first. It would then be later for us and probably lead to lower quality.
The reviews must have been channeled through the intelligence services first!!!! 🤣🤣
@@KeepCalmAndTravelOn these are not breaking news but consumer product unveilings. If a media break embargo repeatedly then they'll just get banned and not get access next time. I agree phone brands should be more selective and maybe have waves of embargo instead of like 100 media at once, however.

@Galva Tron TBH I don't shoot that much video anyway. That periscope camera looks promising.
Obviously different release dates but away from Samsung/Amazon et al, you could pickup either S10/+ for a lot less than the P30 Pro. It'll be interesting to see whether they've been aggressive enough in terms of pricing given the little difference between the S10 and S10+.

@@milpatel83 Nope P30 Pro is much cheaper than the S10+ here in Canada, $100 cheaper than even the Mate 20 Pro P30 is cheaper than S10 too it's a no brainer.
Amazing phone and my first Huawei as I originally wanted the P20 Pro. Breathing Crystal finish is a beautiful colour and the camera is ace.

Well well well. Cameras on smartphones just got a whole lot better.
Now this type of content is very, very, much appreciated and needed! I don't know what it is about Vlad, but because of him, I actually enjoyed the video and it made me feel good for the phone, the audience, and yes, the Verge itself! Great work, great video.
As far as the phone is concerned, well, I am so glad to be existing in this timeline of the tech world! Awesome piece of technology there. Lovely devices. I believe we all should keep every controversy aside and just take a moment to appreciate and admire the wonderful piece of tech Huawei (and others as well) have created.

I don't like that the P30 Pro is the real Flagship while the normal P30 is the speced down version but they still marketing the P30 Pro as the "Pro" device. It should rather be P30 and a P30r/P30e version so it is clear that the P30 ist the best phone. P30 has made way too much sacrifices.
I need amazing battery life
According to the preliminary testing, P30 Pro's battery out runs the mate 20 Pro. So the battery life is fantastic.
@@ericliume but the Mate 20pro doesn't outperform the S10+ which only has 4100mah lawl so even the P30PRO won't be as great as the S10+ in battery life since it shares the same sOc as the Mate 20pro 😂

@@tshepangescobar18 s10+ with exynos 9820 processor has average battery life. It's Not worth getting if you can't get your hands on the s10+ snapdragon 855 version. The battery on the mate 20 pro is better than s10+ exynos 9820

Great video, but one observation, not meaning to be offensive in any way. Now, I don't think I'm having difficulties understanding the English language (and/or British dialects), but for me, I feel Vlad is a bit too fast and not clear in his speech, making it hard for me to understand what he's saying sometimes. When the subtitles also contain transcription mistakes, there can be some misunderstandings of what is actually said.
I just wanted to make a heads-up and a tiny plea/wish for presenters to be as clear as possible when presenting in videos.

I love this. The only drawback is the loss of stereo speakers which i loved in the p20 pro. But all the rest is great

Not many of us are going around using our phones as professional photographers. Please there are many great details about this phone your passing up on to review the camera.

I often wonder, with all of these advancements in the smartphone industry's cameras, would these technical advances hurt the professional photography industry?!?!
I think this is a good and bad thing such as the access is a positive but the negative is that photographs hey less business. There are lots of pros and cons, we still have to wait and see
Actually not really , all these phones take stuffs that are good for small screens but frankly comparing the cameras of dslr is still light year away, maybe prosumer cameras probably like entry lvl dslr and compact cams
Is the AF less jerky in zoomed in aperture mode on the P30 Pro? On the P20 Pro it's unusable.
Also, does it still over-sharpen pics after it takes them?

P30 Pro has better cameras, better performance, dual SIM, better battery life, faster charging, IR blaster, dual band GPS, wireless desktop mode, faster LTE, better everything than the S10+, this is hands down the best phone out now.

I love Huawei, been going back fourth with other brands, to see the difference but, lately Huawei has been pretty liable for me. This model has me excited.

apparently the 1x sensor is good enough, and on video mode, you won't be getting the jittery transition that normal phones get when changing from 1x to 2x
