Hidden under those bright lights and useless but beautiful skycrapers like Lotus tower , this is the real life of most people in colombo.
These are the people who hit hardest by the economic crisis too. Not the filthy rich 1% that live in this same colombo city.

I don't think that it's the life of most people in Colombo! What do you mean by most people in Colombo? 75% of the population in Colombo lives in this kind of places?
@@satansfans acvording to the goverment reports about 50% of the people in colombo do live in low income settlements. You can check them out your self if you want.
@@ManjulaD there are some people who continue to live in slums, even after getting a house from a government housing project. They rent out the house to someone else and continue to live in the slum.
Few decades before there were loads of slums but then government build loads of apartments and gave them to those who live in slums and then the government demolished all of d slums and now u cant really see slums a lot like in India, Indonesia, Philippines, Bangladesh but nevertheless there are few places like this and im glad that he showed another side of city even tho there aren't a lot of it!!

I am living in retirement in Sri Lanka after half a century of hell and near-hell in London. These people are the best in the world - literally. They live by the railway tracks, "on the wrong side of the tracks", but they make the world work. Their intentions are the best :)

Usually people would be embarrassed, but they welcomed you with open arms. That place is clean, and they're doing ok. I hope things improve there. Sri Lankan people are very kind.

It’s a very nice content and may almighty god bless Davud ,Kusil and the rest. The family was so pleasant and kept the house neat and tidy.Our people are in this situation because our politician who did not have proper vision for the country from independence. Remember Singapore has set example of our country some time back and where we are today ? Very sad!

As a Sri Lankan living abroad, your are an amazing person showing the world about what I call my motherland. I came their in November after 31 years. But as I left when I'm as a teen , not sure what to do and where to go. You can also say nanri (nun-ri) if you meet tamil speaking people so they would be even happier. I dont think tamil speaking Lankans are familiar with Sthuthi since it's barely used by sinhalese as well

It is so sad such an educated person doing a job earning little income.but proud of the whole family as the stand on their feet an independent .I imagine she study as a nurse and working is USA .she speaks good English.One reason why Sri Lanka is,still a developing country.Huge ammount of man power and hours wasted.No opportunitis to people to use their energy and abilities .The country needs the leaders who believe the peoples power of this country.
