Damn because of Bourbon Junkies I have all those bottles except the Old Carter & Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 🥃 Lol 😂 thanks a lot guys...I have hunted for all of them in person no online purchases just good ole hunting & searching and it’s a blast love it 😍
It's always fun when it pays off, cheers!
Bourbon Junkies online is cheating too me and no fun lol if the taste is in the pour...the fun is in the chase
I think everyone needs to try Sazerac Rye it's amazing!
What does the Michter's Rye mentioned go for?
It doesn't come to our state, but I think it's suppose to be around $80. I'd buy for anything less than $125
Bourbon Junkies thanks.
Do y’all have a daily drinker? Or do y’all like to switch it up? Right now, I have at least one pour of blantons a night, it’s just so good lol.
Early times BiB for sure is my go to
Okay! I will buy the Elijah Craig toasted Barrel.
It's good promise!
Certain releases of the Barrell stuff are worth hunting and not impossible to find. I've seen all kinds of old batches sitting on shelves.
I tend to agree with a lot of your content..great content. The Sam Houston 14 is good on the nose, good on the entry and great on the mid pallet. But the finish is non existent. It’s like it just closes shop after the mid pallet. If you don’t mind the experience disappearing quick i guess it might be worth the price tag but I haven’t found it online for less than 150 shipped. I’d rather buy 2 bottles of B520... 1 bottle missed.. maybe Balmorhea. Markets might be limited but amazing bottle. 2020 might be better than 2019
For sure a bit more delicate, I'll have to revisit ours when I can drink again. I don't remember the finish being super short on ours. What state and batch do you have?
Bourbon Junkies definitely agree with more delicate and I don’t mind that at all. CA-1 is my batch. Bottle 7 barrel 240. If this had a finish it would be top 5 this year for me. Similar notes of a Rockhill farms but more pronounced while still delicate. It’s a special bottle .... just with weak finish on this particular one.
No Michters 10 Rye or Bourbon?
We got a guy for those
Bourbon Junkies I guess you don’t have to hunt for it if you’ve got a guy. 😂
What are your thoughts on new riff? Which bottles do you prefer from them?
We've just not been a huge fan of them. Some are better than others, but we don't go out of our way for them.
@@BourbonJunkies funny story about New Riff. I have their BiB, but I also have Wilderness Trail wheated SiB BiB (I ❤ the WildernessTrail) . I went to pour a dram of WT with my lunch yesterday but realized it was almost gone. Ended up not enjoying that pour as much as I remembered liking it, I assumed maybe it was my lunch messing with my palate. After lunch I'm putting my dishes away in the kitchen when I see the bottle of New Riff is on the counter. Then I remembered I elected to save my last remaining Wilderness Trail juice and poured the New Riff instead.
Lesson: I don't like New Riff nearly as much as I Iike WT.
Bourbon Junkies thank you for getting back to me on this!
And I will go with:
Kentucky owl bourbon batch 9
Kentucky owl Rye batch 2
Rebel Yell 10-year Single Barrel
IW Harper 15-year
Little book chapter 2
Oh wait I forgot the sarcasm:
Kessler 1.75 jug
EC stepped up their game on Barrel Proof a bit longer than 2 years, with their B517 being an exceptional release, that won double gold & whiskey of the year & is still one of my favourite releases from Heaven Hill.
Man, I want to try Elijah Toasted Barrel, where can I find this in Michigan?
Honestly I'm not sure we only saw it at two shops up here and it was gone in a day
Dude I’d love to find some too. Not sure where you live, but Whigville in Grand Blanc has a good selection. Another store that could have it, is Ben Stein’s in Walled Lake. It’s in Oakland County. They have an insane selection for bourbon.
Only thing I would add is Four Roses Small Batch LE BS I have the 15, 18,19 and probably not gonna be able to find the 20 cause it was by sheer luck I found the other ones in MS
Elijah Craig my go to
Larceny Barrel Proof I believe deserves a mention.
If anyone in Texas can find the Sam Houston 14 it is awesome. I would also love to know if you find it so I can get another bottle. I am in the DFW area but will travel for it so please let me know!
Hey I think I saw it at a store here in Arlington or Fort Worth. If you want we can talk about it and maybe we can do a trade or something
Typically, i drink irish whisky. With some scotches but i enjoy your videos. W/o a job/, steady income my drinking is minimal
Sorry to hear, but what's your go to irish?
@@BourbonJunkies my initial foray was Bushmills- really prefer the 10 yr version. Tullamore dew.- great economical ones. Writer's Tears. Irishman. Just tried Glenrothes.👍. Glenmorangie. Macallan. Tomatin. Hyde. Not a fan of peat. Just a clean taste. Bourbon- tried Maker's Mark.
Yes I do
i found an OFBB 2020 for $399. i bought it. haven't opened it yet. Was that too much?
In California I'm seeing the cheapest price as $900. Bottles like that seem to be an investment like wine. Or gold. You can always hold it and sell it if you don't want to drink it.
I'd rather buy gold
Curious as to how much others are paying for Blanton’s. I’ve only found 1 in my area but wasn’t sure if the price was reasonable.
59.99 in Michigan
MSRP is $60. I'll pay $80 if I'm lucky. But I usually see it for $100 or $110. I won't pay that price for Blanton's.
What about Old Forester 150th? I may have overlooked from a previous video
I don't see availability being very high on those
Smoke wagon uncut/unfiltered
Where do you guys hunt for theses great Bourbons. Hell I can not get a single bottle of Eagle Rare here in Cincinnati.
Actually all over Michigan, Dan made 2 trips down state last week when some store picks dropped.
Thank you, Guess I will have to travel throughout the Tri State to be successful. I did however finally find a Knob Creek 12 and 15 year not far from me in West Harrison Indiana.
You mention Dan that you keep some bourbon in you bunker. Maybe do a list of the best bourbons to keep/hunt for the end of the world?
Holy crap on that Blantons flip. Dan knows he was like a millimeter away from that bottle exploding.
The Jack Daniels bottle flip he did on the myths video was so close to exploding a rocks glass too
@@BourbonJunkies - Well atleast it was only Jack and Blantons 😉
So you guys like the small Batch more than the toasted barrel?
Nope we both like toasted more
Cool I found some right up the road from me I’m gonna go get it 70 bucks a bottle in Deerfield Beach Florida
For just a taste of that OF Birthday bourbon. A guy can dream can't he
