You have to remember the producer did the Hills as well, which was loosely based on reality. Producers text them what to talk about. Don’t take Selling Sunset seriously. Christine is the Kristin Cavallari of the show.

It’s mind blowing to me how people commenting do not realize that reality TV is not real…yes, she was made to be a villain, but that is not necessarily always the truth! You know this upon joining a reality show. You have no control of what you do, they tell you exactly what to do and you cannot argue it.

See, Christine’s husband is the real/loyal type. I have one too. I cannot get him to change his style but he is who he is. Frustrating at times, but I also don’t doubt his commitment. He is real and what you see is what you get. Not wishy-washy. Mind you I’m not financially rich like her, but he works and takes responsibility for his family. 23 years and 5 kids later.
He lets me be me which is higher maintenance than him. But I’m not rude and I don’t expect unfair things. We let each other be individuals & it works for us.

This seemed a little catty and just almost seemed like there shade was thrown the entire time and that’s not what your podcast is about. 🙃🙃 I LOVE Christine. Honestly, I stopped watching the SS show after she was gone bc love her or hate her, she was the show, the comedy, the drama, the glamour. She really delivered what is needed for a reality BUT is all the inconsistencies I don’t like about her. She has gone to some podcasts like Call her Daddy & she threw some different facts about the show. I remember she said she would love to go back in time to amend her friendship with Heather bc she was close & bff before the show & the way she speaks about her in all the interviews is not looking like she really appreciated her at all. Also with Mary bc they were roomies as well for some years & even Mary said she felt bad about losing her friendship with Christine bc they knew so much about each other like sisters. I don’t know, still I hope Christine comes back for another TV or reality show, the woman has the charisma, she’s witty, smart & beautiful enough to have her own show.

I actually love this cast because Savannah took a “villain” and was able to show she’s actually human and relate to manipulative producers that Destroy who they really are. This podcast shows beyond the pettiness of show biz.

CHRISTINE THE BEST
At the end of the day I take Christine at her word because she actually left Selling Sunset, and therefore does not have a vested interest in making the viewer believe the show is "real." Besides, alot of what Christine is saying tracks. Before they rebooted the Hills series, much of the original cast spoke out against the producers. They said pretty much the same things Christine is, that they manipulated storylines and forced the cast to do scenes they didnt want to. It's why Lauren Conrad famously left the show.
To the commenters saying "I don't believe her," keep living in your "cult-vibe world." 🙂
I wonder why Adam Deville (producer) doesn't make them sign NDAs or even threaten to sue when a cast member spills the beans?? He sounds like he is money-driven and probably litigious ... maybe "all publicity is good publicity"
@@rovertnitram123 I actually think he does! What I'm about to say is purely speculation, but I think the Hills cast did sign NDAs that were is place for X amount of years. It wasn't until about 2016 that the cast started speaking on which storylines were manufactured. I do think the Selling Sunset cast are under contracts not to disclose what is true and what isn't.

There were just too many blatant lies she was caught in for me to trust her in an interview. Even if edited, the premise of her lies are very apparent throughout the show (initially she's just hyperaggressive. Toward the end she's morphed into a freakin pathological liar, which is clearly *not* "an act." This was an authentic, self-absorbed human attempting to cover her tracks as she continuously got caught in lies, or planted seeds to brew hate OFF of those lies.
There’s a HUGE difference between joking and being flat out mean. You were mean, Christine. They weren’t jokes, they were hits below the belt. Ugh this podcast episode makes me wanna puke.

I just binged all the seasons this weekend and i LOVE her. I think she does lie but dont we all. I think when she was pregnant the other girls were bullying and being mean. Espesh after she had the baby. What if she had postpartum and really needed a friend but instead Mary was drunk yelling at her while the others wanted to have the "gangbang intervention" it's shitty, imo
Nah. You dont expect or deserve empathy/sympathy after harassing your coworkers for 3 years. Christine was nasty from the beginning, in the first episode Chrishell walks in looking to be friendly with everyone and then it cuts to an interview of Christine saying Chrishell has terrible style and needs help picking out dresses. That’s a shitty friend, she was instigating from the start. The other women in the office can only be expected to rise above for so long

I really dislike Chrishell. I think that Christine is a narcissist but Chrishell usurped the role of the bully very quickly. It was all organic, in my opinion; in that, Chrishell didn't plot to create division between Christine and Mary - because she didn't have to. Christine's narcissistic personality did the job enough for her, and organically created that division. But Chrishell saw the shifting tides and capitalized off of it like the realtor she is. Notice how Chrishell began rolling her eyes every single time Christine walked in the room or even was mentioned by name? Chrishell became the bully 100%.
Mary started off super chill and by the end of season 5 and 6, notice how she stutters over all her words and emotionally disregulated. She acts like she's always coming off of an opioid high, its so weird. I think she does stimulants for the fast pace job. Or maybe its that she's a closet alcoholic. But there's SOMETHING about Mary that slowly became off over the seasons.
