I saw this very production in London in 1988/89. One of my favourite musicals and one of my favorite songs is Long Sunday Afternoon. Kiki Dee was amazing.
Hi Charlotte I agree with. You I am a female on my husband's login. I. Saw this in London seven years ago and I watch it every night on my huddle it is fantastic love the theatre my. Name is jc
I got the CD of this cast and it's thanks to them that I love this musical, although I've never seen it live! It's so great to be able to watch these videos, so thanks a lot for uploading! Also, Bright New Day is one of my favourite songs from the show and Kiki Dee is the only Mrs. Johnstone I've heard that sings that note the octave higher near the end, which I love! :)
@@Israel_Augustine I'd actually forgotten about this comment. It appears that my ability to recognise tone of voice through a comment needs some work...😂
We are doing this in English at the moment .When we watch these clips in lesson ,our teacher skips all the songs ,so I have to go back and listen to the songs so the book makes sense
This is the original version right? They are just amazing :O this is the very first version I've ever seen, (I mean on UA-cam) but it Is by far the best thank you so much! x

I've always wanted to see this version of the show. The soundtrack cassette tape was my introduction to Blood Brothers. I have seen the show six times and collected various soundtrack cds but, for me, Kiki Dee will always be Mrs J and Con O'Neill Mickey. The show is a lot more polished now, and I love it, but its interesting to see this dark, rawer production. Ive heard that a film is in preproduction. love how he goes from his child voice to that singing voice
Hannah I had a brain fart when that happened lol
Ya gay
Honestly thought that was someone else singing offstage
i like his voice!
dont you tho?
Blue Cherry what’s wrong with that dumbass.?
God that super quick change of voice is so amazing. I love this cast.
+skylar rose Con O'Neill :)
I can't believe that over 20 years later, the same person is playing the narrator! I saw him today, what an excellent actor! Fabulous performance!
31 years later time flies huh
Excuse me? Mickey's singing voice is a far cry from his talking voice. Oh, wow.
Con O Neil has an amazing singing voice! :)
GCSE squad where ya at??

Watching this for English class 😂 I actually love it. Marilyn Monroe and Sunday Afternoon have to be my faves.
Yes, I like them too. But for sheer poignancy, 'Tell Me It's Not True', is the most touching.
i’m doing it now and i’m still watching this version for english
When mickey started singing I had a brain fart, like, s'cuse me, that voice is a bit too deep for a 7 year old

Ideas people. Why do we reckon there was there no attempt to merge Mickey's speaking voice with his singing voice?
Do you really wanna hear his speaking voice singing
i love this play
He is meant 2 b a kid but his singing voice is waaay 2 mature i mean like from high pitched brat 2 HELLO HUNKY!!!
It's suppose to be like that so the viewer is reminded it's not real
