My son and I caught our first taug last Monday because of your great videos. We enjoyed it so much we went out for another successful trip on Friday. Nothing but shorts but a lot of fun. Keep the videos coming.
@@TriboroFishing WOW! Awesome video! I never tried going for Tautog before, but now I want to after watching your excellent video. If you don't mind some questions, why do you say it's frustrating? Is it because of the risk of getting snagged in the rocks? What month was this? Also, was this at a particular spot next to a particular private pier that belongs to a certain private club? 🤫
Nice catch!! I honestly learned so much from your videos. Why do you use a mono leader instead flouro? I’m going to test out this new rod & reed combo today. Hopefully henri brings the fish to shore. 😂
Appreciate you watching and glad I could help. I use mono just because it’s cheaper but I’ll use flouro for fluking because it’s thinner and better for finesse fishing. Normally fishing before a storm is good because fish will feed before a big storm and hunker down during the storm.
@@Ghost-sz7uo with the MQ body and Magsealed it’s probably smooth and strong reel but don’t like all that blue color. I think im going to past this one.
You might want to try making the loop for your hook about an inch above the loop for your weight. I like to have my hook almost touching my weight so the hook can fall into the holes in the rocks. I’ve crushed blackfish at that spot up to 14lbs throughout the last decade and that’s my go to rig.
Very addictive fishing for Blackfish. When flipping rocks for bait to catching its awesome.
Catching your own bait make fishing a different experience.
Jetty fishing for Tog is the most challenging type of fishing, compared to sheepshead southern jetty fishing

I’m glad I could help. Tight lines guys
@@TriboroFishing You taught a nine year old to love jetty fishing. I'm not sure how great of a gift that is to a father. Thank you again. Tight Lines.
Do you think it’s better to leave the legs and claws attached because I was taught to cut the legs off and cut the crab in half
Good stuff,I always see you out there.Glad you got on one👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Finally got a keeper after so many shorts it was definitely a happy moment lol thanks for watching
@@TriboroFishing yea the short life is real this year.Next time try point pleasant, bites been pretty good on the jetty’s
Awesome job getting on that first keeper tog of the season! I agree, they are super hard fighting fish, particularly for their size!
Way to get it!! Nice catch!!
Thanks
Nice Vid! Togs can be tricky sometimes but always one of my favorites to catch. Thanks for sharing 🦾
Same here love catching tog but it gets frustrating sometimes lol

Nice video. Really hope you didn’t leave the clipped mono on the beach…
Really good stuff
Sweet rod bending . Great vid
Thanks for watching buddy
So basically move the rod up and down until i get bite and once i get bite stay still until rod bends?
What tide do you like for jetty fishing?
You can catch some oyster toad fish if u use clam right at your feet
What is the best tide to catch tautog.
Low tide?
Nice!👍 I will be there soon!😉😊
Awesome good luck buddy

Are they there throughout the Winter months? Good fishin' btw!
The larger tog move out to deeper water in the winter but sometimes few big ones stay inshore year around.
Where are you fishing?

I’ll try that, thanks for the tip.
Do you ever use tog jigs? Like bottom sweeper jigs?
Yes I do. I normally use jigs when the water doesn’t have to much current or I’m vertical jigging like on a kayak or boat.
is this manasquan
greetings my brother good fishing what address is there
Where are you catching these togs
Nice, keeper tog at shark river inlet
Nice video. Pick up yah trash tho
Are any of these jetties near the Verrezano New york?.. any chance you can give me a Google maps location?
I think you mean an octopus hook not a circle hook.
Yes it was a octopus hook thanks
10 minutes for a 2 ounce fish.
1 fish 🐠 1 person 1 Trip 1car 1 day 1 lunch 1 tanks of gasoline. Very expensive fish 🐟. Fish eat toxic food
Cheaper and more fun than Six Flags, and not any more toxic than any food they sell there! That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it! 😆
what a moronic comment
nice way of measure the fish, keep doing that until got caught one day
