Tom - these vlogs have been such a treat as a way to "spend time" with you, and so much more pleasant, chill and natural to watch than other vloggers out there. Hope you continue to do them in the future, even in Orlando or elsewhere. If it's annoying or not fun, thank you for pushing through!
These vlogs are such a fantastic treat for a longtime WDWNT nerd like myself. Tom's running commentary is everything! lol SO thrilled to have read in a comment below that there's an intention to continue these regularly moving forward. Yes, PLEASE!!!!
OMG I love that one of the shield designs in Goofy's paint house is his default shield from Kingdom Hearts! Also I love that all the Goofy playing sports costumes are what he's got hanging and spinning on the clothes lines outside! Those kinds of nods and details are fantastic.
The super simple merch is interesting. I can only think of a use case for the water bottle and the tote bag. It would be cute to use all that white space for stickers or patches and customize them.
Hey Tom! Love the blogs. Make sure to stay hydrate. Good thing you went during a cloudy day. The worst is during clear day, temperature and humidity are brutal. It is sometimes less crowded these times as it is hot and humid and sometimes it is due to wild weather changes with fears it might rain. It gets crowded in mid July till August though especially in weekends when crowd really picks up compare to weekday. Did you go during weekdays?
The humidity was single-handedly the worst part about visiting Japan. I always thought back home was humid but it’s a very different experience there, just an unreal new extreme. I missed last year’s splash thing during my Disney day on my trip by, like… a week? I think?
I wished the map popcorn bucket was available when we were there at end of june. Bucket looks amazing and wonderful reminder of the two beautiful parks.
One thing that kinda irks me on the TDL Splash Mountain is the scene with the vultures. It’s a bit different where the original they were dressed like undertakers and you had this thunderstorm going on (in a cave). It’s a much darker lit scene too, and here they got a spot light on them.
It’s honestly pretty comparable honestly. It’s like an upkept version of old toon town, but it’s not really better or worse than the refurbed Disneyland version. I went to both last year.
Great video, Tom! I hope you might buy an extra popcorn bucket to auction off for the fundraiser in November. I love it so much! Excited for the Chinese park videos when you head over there.
I enjoyed these vlogs and missing Japan. Just got back and can't wait till the day to return. Thank you for the videos. Also the disney hotels have shoe dryer if you need it. We used it during our trip recently and was game changer
I’m in Dallas, and right now it’s 94 with a heat index of 102. This is actually a much cooler week for us due to that tropical storm. I’m looking at the midday afternoon temperatures in Chiba, and don’t really understand. I mean, I guess it’s hotter because you’re outside. My family absolutely would be against Baymax and rides like Splash Mountain because in their mind, it’s not about cooling you off, it’s about walking around soaked, complaining about chaffing. I don’t seem to have that problem. In fact, I rode Splash Mountain a month ago, and when I returned to my family, they were shocked that I was already dry. Of course, Japan has a version that’s wetter during the summer, but still. I think it helps that their boats aren’t always half full of water like the domestic boats.
Greetings, thank-you so much for your vlogs... they're so helpful when I plan for April 2025 for SWC... starting to learn little Japanese to be the polite American tourist...
Agreed a “wet” area of the park in Florida would be fun but where would you put it? The aisles are way too narrow to do this in fantasyland and all the other lands wouldn’t make any sense. Plus I could see Americans complaining about their stuff getting wet more than the Japanese. Didn’t they tone down splash mountain so the walkers by didn’t get wet on the final splash?
What about the Br’ers? Are the Br’ers coming out for meet and greets or is this just oh I’m going on the ride video title. Because if OLC is sticking it to TWDC and I left early I will never forgive myself!
I'm gonna be real here. I have ZERO nostalgia for splash mountain and song of the south and I gotta say Tiana's ride would definitely be the one I would prefer. I'm not by any means saying splash mountain is bad but just purely from a what I would prefer standpoint Tiana's ride looks more interesting to me. Also the people saying the animatronic on splash mountain were "better" because there were more of them are loopy.
I'll be honest I have never been the biggest fan of Splash, like I appreciate the huge mount of animatronics and how advanced it was when it was opened but I had always just seen it has a log flume ride, which I'm not the biggest fan of and tbf I probably just will feel the same with Tiana's when I ride it, although I must say the music does sound great for it but at the end of the day it is just the same ride

We do plan on continuing, I will be doing Shanghai and Hong Kong soon and Disney World regularly when I return home

woah 22:30 they're playing "That's what Uncle Remus" said lol
They are
Yep, it’s the same music loop they played in the Splash queue at WDW.
“It lets kids and probably me…” LMAO.
This is why we watch. The dedication and love is apparent.
🎼 “Oh no, there goes Tokyo. Go go Tom-Zilla, yeah” 🎶
While I don't think I could ever afford to go there, I'm really enjoying seeing how different it is and thank you Tom for presenting it to us.
It’s cheaper than going to WDW or DLR, even with airfare
You’d be STUNNED how affordable every single part of Japan is once you can get yourself on the plane. The airfare is honestly the worst part.
I OVE how OLC has a complete backstory/explanation for why anything happens out of the ordinary in their parks! That’s storytelling done right
New shirt soon, “I’m going to let Baymax absolutely destroy me.”

Waterboarded with Baymax now on Disney+ LOL
‘Water boarded by Baymax’ comment really made me laugh 😂 thanks for the vlogs Tom!
I like the idea of the melted ice cream making milk for the cereal in the bottom of your sundae.
Tom: "Why can't we have this in Florida??"
Disney: "We gave you a Moana splash pad, what else do you want??!"
🤣🤣🤣
I like Journey of Water
Fun hanging out with you today 👍 thank you 😊
These are always fun. The idea of a water parade on paved streets struck me as odd. THANKS TOM
Great walk about. Loved the character houses

Keep the Tokyo vlogs coming, they are sooo good. The quality is great. You need to host with Nana again at the parks.

Tom's face after getting whipped by water on Splash, lol
The Baymax Cooldown Parade would be a huge hit in WDW! Growing up in Philly, we had Mr. Softee too! Another fabulous vlog Tom
Tom's eating butts, yup that what i expected this morning when i watched this 😆
The humidity was single-handedly the worst part about visiting Japan. I always thought back home was humid but it’s a very different experience there, just an unreal new extreme. I missed last year’s splash thing during my Disney day on my trip by, like… a week? I think?
I love the idea for the baymax parade, I wish they did something like that on super hot days at Magic Kingdom. But hey, for now we have the camels.
Ok now you're making me miss Splash Mountain AND Mr. Softee!!! (Shaggy dog) 😅
I wished the map popcorn bucket was available when we were there at end of june. Bucket looks amazing and wonderful reminder of the two beautiful parks.
The Get Wet Max version is permanently on in California. 😂
Of all the things I ever thought I’d hear Tom say, “eat some butt” was not on the list

All 3 were different
These special summertime water events and features are amazing. I would LOVE this in Anaheim.
Even their Toon Town is better than Disneyland's even with Runaway... really puts American Disney to shame.
It’s honestly pretty comparable honestly. It’s like an upkept version of old toon town, but it’s not really better or worse than the refurbed Disneyland version. I went to both last year.
@blubba818 yes, close
But our version got rid of Chip n Dale's tree house and replaced it with.... nothing.
I mean they should never had removed the one from WDW, the area now is just a whole lot of nothing
Great video, Tom! I hope you might buy an extra popcorn bucket to auction off for the fundraiser in November. I love it so much! Excited for the Chinese park videos when you head over there.

Great, informative vlog! If possible, can you show more of Duffy and his friends in a future Tokyo vlog? Thanks for all the content!
Duffy is so cute
I can't even imagine Tokyo in July how humid it is there. I have enough of a problem with Georgia's heat and humidity. Enjoyed this video. 🥵

@@UmmYeahOkTexas is next level heat (I'm in the hill country) so everything seems cooler to us lol
@@strayiggytvYeah, I don’t know what Universal is thinking with its Kids Resort, but maybe most of it is indoors.
The worst I’ve experienced is easily Hong Kong in the Summer. It’s truly impressive humidity. It’s a d*mn jungle! Had to take two showers a day.
You said happy entry and my brain went in a whole other direction!😂😂😂
Greetings, thank-you so much for your vlogs... they're so helpful when I plan for April 2025 for SWC... starting to learn little Japanese to be the polite American tourist...
Baymax is amazingly, Tom.
I demand more character ass snacking options. Make it happen.
Love these
I don’t know if this was ever discussed, but how is phone/service while there? Do you just use your cell provider? Thanks! Love Tokyo videos!!!
Hello, it's 11:20 am here in the west coast as of, Saturday, July 7th, 2024
Love that popcorn bucket!
The country bear
How long are you permitted to be in Tokyo before u have to return to the states
90 day tourist visa is given to US citizens upon entry. He left and came back so it was reset then (last month).
Did Tom buy two Minnie Shop sets? One to open and one to keep mint?
1:04:55 Should have used Charmin. It doesn’t stick😅
Put ice cream in the shave ice that's 7+
1:09:56 oh yes i remember

Storybook Circus? The back of Tomorrowland?
@@WDWNT I always forget about storybook circus. Yes, that spot is perfect for it.
