Yes agreed. Poor guy. Security idiot clearly has no class and on a power trip. Iv never been impressed by high end brands and the pretentiousness that comes with it. We are all equally as important as we are irrelevant.
Lawful speaking: If you are in private property and someone asks you to stop filming then you must stop, but they have no legal right to enforce you delete any footage you have already taken. You own that footage and they don't.
@@recuerdos2457 - I agree, bad PR. And if anyone asks you to delete videos or photos, just tell them that it is auto backed up in the cloud. But always refuse.
They forgot that social media is now the #1 form of publicity and awareness. After that experince, everything will be bad even though it’s already bad like the food and the coffee will just taste even bitter in a bad way
Don’t think the Dior Cafe head office would appreciate the security guard making such a scene in front of other customers. It probably is over priced, but that sounds like a problem with that particular staff member rather than the actual cafe itself
When he told his baby mum that he is on a work trip and his side chick that he works in Canary Wharf and you are recording him as a security guard 😂 that will do it
Poor you! Not gonna lie, these fashion brands are extremely rude and horrendously obnoxious in their stores and so this behaviour does not surprise me. Shame on them.
UA-camrs should realize every business and person has their right to not get filmed and not be a matter of public entertainment. As a responsible and cultured person, you should ask the authorities whether you can shoot the video on their premises or not.
Sorry for that and yes I agree with you, I’d be embarrassed too. Total overreaction from the security guard of all people. Thank you for your review, yes , I will pass. Not just from the mediocre cafe food review, but based on that security guard’s behaviour alone is so out of line. It’s uncomfortable. If I saw a security guard do this to someone for simply filming, I’d be uncomfortable big time. If a guest had issues with a recording and politely asked to have them removed from the video that’s perfectly fine. But the security guard has no right to behave like that to a paying guest. Specially a paying guest to such an expensive designer cafe. Not exactly the experience you were paying for. Again you did nothing wrong. Very sorry for your experience ❤🥰
Unless your a celebrity they class you as a peasant. It's rather pathetic especially when your trying to take pics of you and your family for birthdays and special occasions. They go nuts
I had a situation where I was asking directions from a security guard at Harrods and he completely ignored me what I asked him repeatedly he refused to look at my face I made a complaint taken a note of the time and the camera and location and they sent me a full apology and sent him on a training course apparently they are stuck up in Harrods
It is a bloody café, not a Dior boutique! Surely, I have seen many videos from other blogs whilst in the café with no issues. Dior should hire someone with great manners to serve their premium clientele.
That space used to be Lauree cafe, real nice French Rococo vibe. Now it’s kind of …. not sure what’s happening …. Don’t get me started on the Over priced cookies 😂
That’s when you change the video plan from the somewhat well performing “I went to this cafe in London” video, to “security harasses me for filming a food review” which would perform so much better.
I worked for Harrods many years ago as a senior manager in one of the fashion departments and the filming is a big no no, if anyone has done it before they would of have permission or been sneaky. But interesting fact Harrods is a very old school business like a constitution and the security of I remember correctly are ex SAS or SAS trained and if you think that is harsh imagine working there and going through staff security everyday it’s like going through customs, but it’s Harrods and they run a tight ship
Ok, so I’ve seen like 20 people standing outside Dior store in a queue, Waiting for store guys to let them in, so that they can spend more than $2000. Wow, that sounds like a luxury experience to me!!!
He was guarding privacy of customers. 🤔 So you film anyway stealthily, and was so mad you cant monetize this experience that it ruined it. But at the end grumpy clip about it can be sold too 😁
Imagine paying your hard-earned money to go to an exclusive café where the staff is not trained well to communicate with customers. Shouting at a PAYING customer must always be the last resort. Sorry for your terrible experience man.
I honestly don't mind them asking to not record or delete stuff, it doesn't hurt however to be decent about it. You can totally get away with citing copyright stuff. But BE POLITE.
What he also might not know is that some people like myself have a Google Photos back up using cellular. Meaning even if a photo is deleted on device, that photo is already uploaded and saved to a server.
You need a permission to film that’s normal. You can’t just go to high end places and whip out your camera that’s just reality. Every professional knows this you can’t take pictures or film people without a permit. It’s on you. So I you’re saying - after hearing this you might not want to go is ridiculous. Bloggers ruin everything and every relaxing experience with their cameras constantly out. Most people don’t want to be filmed and just enjoy their day. Thankfully there are private members areas where you’re not even allowed to take pictures with your phone. Sorry but it’s not your home and you can’t just do whatever you like.
Hey we totally understand this! However this is a specific cafe pop up open for PR purposes, it's been seen multiple times on TikTok so we assumed filming was encouraged :)
I had a similar situation in Apple store in Dubai, everyone was taking pictures but suddenly the female security came to me aggressively said (u should ask the ppl permission when u talk a photo .. delete it) that kind of act damage the brand image and does vad more than good,, thank you for calling them out 👏
Honesy the emarassing situation made the food and coffee taste sub par. if he hadnt caused a scene and made you feel mortified then you would of had a blast! Im so sorry you had to experience that.
Yes, that must have been very embarrassing for you. I’m so sorry that you had that experience BEFORE you’d even sat down. I probably would have wanted to leave immediately if it had been me. As a woman, I also might have cried a little bit depending on his tone. Hey #DiorCafe, I think that an apology is in order. A public apology not a form letter. So, what was that security guards BIG secret? I’m not really interested but I really thought it was going to be him telling you that filming inside wasn’t allowed. I’m now kinda suss about who they are employing for their security if I’m honest. 😳
The worst there. A friend and I asked a security guard to help us find the champagne bar. After walking for a bit he said. "Ahhh not sure where it is" and then just walked off 😂
Go to a nice local cafe and get treated well. Never appealed to me those kind of places.
Honestly, it's the local ones are sometimes the best ones. Personal service, great food, good vibes all round

Loads of bloggers have filmed in the dior cafe the security guy was being a prick .

Thanks for the heads up. I definitely wont be going!
Any time!
I won’t be going either. Bad behavior should not be rewarded!
I won’t be going since the food isn’t great.
Usually dior security lets you record with no issues. This was a rare occurrence that guy had a chip on his shoulder
That is terrible and should not have happened! Sounds like he was on one and took it out on you.
Sounds like he was power tripping. I’m so sorry you went through that, keep up the great filming and reviews! xx
Thanks so much Kelly!
So they come up with this cafe idea for PR and they are so rude that the PR they end up getting is negative. Wow, what a way to burn money!
To be fair, security is usually contracted, so no relation to the PR team.
Some of the youtube has made a video of this place. I don't get it why they took so serious with you. They are very expensive as well
Don’t think the Dior Cafe head office would appreciate the security guard making such a scene in front of other customers. It probably is over priced, but that sounds like a problem with that particular staff member rather than the actual cafe itself
Once the experience at entry has been slandered, no amount of good food or good coffee can brighten ones mood up.
