You guys are great. Ben, I’ve watched you now for a few years. Definitely inspiring man. As a car enthusiast myself... this is something I’d like to someday do full time and possibly get paid for. Also, love that you and your wife tag team these reviews. Keep pushin bruh✊🏽
Great review as always, you make a compelling case for the v8 and the front end is probably lighter making it more agile. That being said I think it comes down to the driving dynamics. Nothing gives you that smooth acceleration like a 12 cylinder, it’s more like a trust you can’t get from most cars.
I have the GTC W12 and loveeee it! Bentley offers both models because they’re different personalities. I can see the appeal of the V8 and why certain people would opt for it. But for me the W12 was just right as a daily driver. I have a few vehicles including another GT I got this year ( not as redundant as you’d think) - AMG GT 63S 4door which is a sportier more spirited GT( not to mention loud af 😂 )There’s just something about a convertible Bentley W12 that just fits my daily driving personality perfectly. Whichever model you choose when you transfer over 300K ( after options ) for a car you should love it ❤️ happy driving
Very nice. Though you make a valid argument (top speed not much different, V-8 exhaust is louder), I would still want the W12. I would cruise in it and want a quiet(er) exhaust.
Red V8 convertible specd like Aleesha said with the red on cream interior. Also glass packs and a really loud but high quality sound system, run flat low profile tires, chromed out nose and rims, heated seats.
Coupe, V8, Cricket ball or Orange flame, white/beige anterior, diamond stitching, dark brow and paino black double veneer, definitely rotating display ;). Don’t always comment but I enjoy your video, keep up the good work
Ben this will replace my Lexus GS F V8 in a few years. However, will have to buy used. You can find a '15 or '16 Conty GT V8 for under 100k now. That is a buy !
The dynamic ride system ( I consider a must have) that comes standard in the w12 is about a 5k option on the v8. So when purchasing a v8 make sure you see that on the sticker. I may go with a w12 simply because I’ve seen more of them with the specs I want. Just a little something to consider if you aren’t building one. Great reviews by the way, always a pleasure watching your channel.
Very nice review Ben. Also, very classy lady. Good job to both of you. I just purchased a 22 GTC V8. It is amazingly fast and agile. I had the GT previously, a 2015. This is a game changer for Bentley. V8 is plenty good. I wouldn't waste money on W12. The starting MSRP of V8 is 231K, while the W12 starts around 311K.
Great video and i think you should let Mrs Wayne do a video it couldn't hurt after all it's the age of the woman....since the interior is a grey like color i would do a blue exterior maybe black rims... not sure i would have to see it up close
Mine would definitely be the V8 with amazing Cricket ball paint and optional blackline spec. As for the interior cricket ball and magnolia hide split E...
Great video, Ben. In my humble opinion, any version of the coupe is good by me. I'd probably get the V8. I've seen the windsor blue model and I have to disagree with your wife here; I think its breathtakingly attractive. My first choice of exterior color is havana brown, followed by verdant. I also love the Bentayga. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of convertibles, and I really don't care for the Flying Spur. It's the Continental GT coupe for me allllll the way.
Great review as always. It seems like you and your wife make a good review team, you like speed she seems to prefer luxury and comfort. Maybe in one of the videos you could switch the drivers seat so that we get both opinions of the driving experience.
Acceleration wise they're actually pretty close, but the V8 sounds way better. So if was ever rich and in the market for one that's probably the one I'd get. 😁
W12 is only slightly smoother, you have to put in the effort to notice it while cruising. As far as acceleration is concerned W12 is way smoother, V8 feels more like a sports car
I think every car company across the board is downsizing their engines, as they find it more performance efficient. More hybrids in the making. God help us.
Ben is right, the V8 in the Bentley cars is so good that you dont need the V12. All the V12 gives you is that you have bragging rights that you have a v12 under the bonnet. V8's spin up quicker than V12's as well as there is less metal to spin up in the v8 compared to the spinning metal in the v12.
The W12 is nothing more than an experiment from Dr. Piëch in the hay day of the Volkswagen-group. It’s still alive, despite itself, because early 2000’s VW thought that 12-cylinders were a dying breed and it wasn’t worth the money and effort to develop a proper V12. So they kept pushing the W12 down the road, hoping BMW and Mercedes were about to kill-off their 12 cylinders...but they didn’t. So VW decided to improve the W12 to make it “acceptable”...and I guess they did to some extent. But truth is that a W12 can never make a V12 sound, which is OK on itself, but the W12-architecture has inherent flaws that van not be solved. Temperature management of the internals and fuel efficiency to begin with. Those two are consequences of the original (read complicated and irrational) architecture...reliability and durability are the next victims. The only good thing this W12 has is the limited dimensions of the engine (especially lengthwise) which is an advantage if you use the Quattro 4WD-system...which puts the engine in the far front of the nose, in front of the front wheels. A V12 would make Bentley’s even more nose-heavy than a W12. Great review my man. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
if you have to explain your point so much, you have no point, man. I don't see W12 owners explaining so much why W12 is better than V8. But I see too many *trying* to explain why 8 is better than 12.
Bentley heritage is in the V8 just like the 6.75 was never pronounced six point seven five but always six and three quarters The W12 has no place in a Bentley other then to satisfy the insecurities of show off owners
MARSHALL127 that’s not what it means at all. They are offering variety. Some people enjoy a smoother more luxurious experience and when it comes to that , the W12 is the way to go. If you like a more sporty experience with a louder exhaust , the V8 would be a more suitable choice.
@@SGTMARSHALL1 I have been in a clients W12 that just had a S/S sport exhaust with valve mounted, it is significant louder and grunt and sound great at full throttle(when the valve is open, when it's closed it's just a bit louder than original! The V8 probably sound great too if it got same type of exhaust! It's not cheap but if you cant afford a exhaust you should get a cheaper car!
Ben I totally agree with V8 and I would add the rotating display, very cool feature! Gorgeous car!

Corey Spivey true. And especially the W12 is known for its “turbine-like” way of accelerating. Less dramatic and violent than a V12 but very comfy.
I'm not cheap by any means but 16000 dollars is 16000 dollars I'd would get the V8 with the Naim audio system in instead of the W12!
I like that combo a lot.
It nice to see black couple or friends collaborate and videos like this, especially in light of recent events. God bless you both.
Good review ! Ben knows luxury !
Thanks for watching!

My wife and I need to get team together like this. Love the car and you guys always a pleasure to watch. Peace and love...
If only manufacturers will listen and stop spending tech on TopSpeed and 0 to 60sec. Just spend the extra money on making them more reliable .
Very nice. Though you make a valid argument (top speed not much different, V-8 exhaust is louder), I would still want the W12. I would cruise in it and want a quiet(er) exhaust.
Oh yeah, I should get two of 'em !!
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been considering buying one myself. Your insights helped me better understand V8/W12 difference for you.

That would be an interesting spec, I definitely appreciate you watching!
Forget the car - what a classy couple!
Ben - good to see there are still other people around that get a smile on their face with a decent car. So, V8 GT or Benz S500 / S63??
Thats gonna have to be the V8 GT for me!
@@BenWayne85 And the reasons?
Scott Ballantine The GT is not as common, interior execution in my opinion is far superior as well.
@@BenWayne85 Thanks Ben - keep up the great videos. We appreciate them...

Jonathan Kenton yea dynamic ride is a must.
A V8 convertible for summer adventures. 💛

Good Review, mama Wayne is looking a lil sleepy 😂
Ardent Bull we get started EARLY! 🥱
Very well pointed Ben, good job!

If you're happy with it then great. But the W12 is quieter, which is a plus for many people, including myself.
The V8 growl is not for everyone.
correct, the smoother and quieter W12 is the better pick for many folks. All depends on what you want. I'll take either LOL

Ntokozo Makhanya I’ve been trying to talk her into it.
Hello, another great video. My question for you is Does the sunroof in the Bentley continental gt open?
No it doesn’t
@@BenWayne85 Thank you
Great review you made some really good points👌🏼
your lady does not care at all about the engine size ;-)) That look was funny..
Same RBF my wife has when I’m explaining my golf game.
what about with the last gen flying spur? V8 or w12?
Acceleration wise they're actually pretty close, but the V8 sounds way better. So if was ever rich and in the market for one that's probably the one I'd get. 😁
V-8 w/ all the options, even the Torch for the Boot.
Yes but w12 are cheaper around 60k but how did you choose it over S63 coupe ?
🇦🇺Like the car and review ,Sadly this car would be double the price here than in the states.Do the rear seats have sufficient room for adults?
Rear seats aren’t adequate for adults at all
Which one is smoother/quieter? That's the one I would pick, if there's a difference.
W12 is only slightly smoother, you have to put in the effort to notice it while cruising. As far as acceleration is concerned W12 is way smoother, V8 feels more like a sports car
Thank you for all the information. Keep up the good wk. Ask your wife what car would she get you for ur bday if money was no object.
Windsor blue is amazing
Totally awesome color.
Great car but so many options. Do you have any thoughts on exterior color? Blues, Reds, Greys, even British racing green?
My favorite colors from Bentley are Extreme Silver, and Dragon Red II.

W12
True if Rolls Royce has V8 would be better too 👍
I prefer a big V12 on a Rolls
I trust you Ben if you say so
Ben knows luxury !
The W12 is supposed to be like an elephant on Adrenaline and holds the curves very well do to new modifications
Very cool !
Tell us about the ranfola.
V8 means I can take it to Audi for service...
Money not an issue which one do you prefer V8 or W12?
V8 easily.
V8 all the way....
Ben, I think you should let your spouse drive a vehicle occasionally.
Ben Russakoff I’ve tried...
Get the wife the drop 💰 top 🇱🇨🇲🇸🇬🇧
Sorry Ben, I’d still spring for the V12 to get the panoramic roof.
stevevgoodman there isn’t a v12 model, there is only the W12. Pano roof is available on the v8 as well.
Ben Wayne maybe something has changed. I live in NYC and they ordered one for me because the glass roof was only on W12
stevevgoodman interesting, regardless, congratulations on your purchase!
If I'm buying a continental GT v8 I'd go the for the S model
W12 First and in the GTC

I disagree with you, W12 is way to go.
Nope... the V12 is a MUCH better BENTLEY.... who cares about handling?
Only It was a V12 , but is a W12
If you enjoy the V-8 sound more than the W-12 that means Bentley failed
