Blair did Louis so dirty. The show makes us hate him for paying off the therapist and threatening Blair at the wedding reception, but after all the running around Blair did, unable to make a clear choice between him and Chuck, leading up to the humiliation of Blair declaring her love for Chuck at the wedding (which I'm guessing was at least nationally broadcast since it's a royal wedding? So now the whole country gets to see) like, I don't condone his actions, but I at least understand.

I will always say- Dan and Blair were a great couple. They built up their friendship and relationship throughout 3 seasons, and then suddenly they break up to appease Chair fans. Their breakup made NO sense.

Really? Dair was pretty toxic too for the 5 eps they lasted in my eyes. He manipulated her onto a relationship whilst she was vulnerable bc she needed a friend. I think ppl glorify it too much as the other option for the little time they had.

I looove Blair and Chuck! I know these two have their toxic moments but to be honest, if you keep their backstories in mind and all that they struggled with it seems okay to me. They both were broken at some point but they managed to heal and grow together. I only wish they had more screentime at the end of season 6 because their wedding felt really rushed to me.

I don't know why Louis even started dating Blair she FULLY failed the prince test on their first date. I don't like test but Blair did only want him bc he was a prince and tried to go back to Chuck at every turn🤣
Everyone has their own opinions, so here's mine. Chuck is a r*pist and he should have died in the car crash.
There is no going back no matter how many character restarts they attempt to do, how many good things "new" Chuchk does, he will always be that guy that forces himself on girls, including 2 of the main girls. (And according to Kati and Is, this is a common ocurrence, so he has done it before.) For me, there is no redemption available.
I do understand the pressure of the "Chair" fandom pushing the producers to try an rehabilitate his image so they can give the audience what they want, BUT... how is it that Ben Donovan who gave the order to beat up the captain, is an irredeemable character, yet Chuck who is a r*apist, who is a blackmailer by nature, who is a creep of the highest order in every scene he's in, who technically killed his own father.... is a good kind hearted hero now.... like ??? Nah, not buying it.
Chuck is toxic waste, even leaving all of that behind and just analyzing his relationship with Blair, he wanted her but the minute she wasn't the perfect girl anymore he called her a horse, "Rode hard and put away wet", DEMEANING HER. He made her suffer for the longest time by not telling her he loved her. Then when they're finally together he valued his property more than her, using her as leverage to get his hotel back, later on trying to gaslight her into believing she went to Jack on her own terms. MANIPULATING HER.
He ruined Blair's night when being presented to the royal court, he almost punched her when she told him Loui had proposed, cutting her face with broken glass. ABUSING HER.
Their entire relationship is toxic. Chuck is toxic. Chuck should have died, so Blair could finally move on and actually be happy.

This comment is perfect. I cannot for the life of me figure out why they let Chuck have a happy ending with all the crap he pulled in the show. I know the lawsuit was staged to make him lose control of the hotel, but the fact that only two out of the alleged several were found to be lying about their assaults doesn't absolve him of anything! He was maybe the most emotionally corrupt character besides Jack.
It's fair to not like him for me he is a very interesting, complex character but Chuck always loved Blair with all her sides. Her good and bad unlike Nate or Dan he never wanted her to change. You seem to be stuck on S1 and no he definitely messed up A LOT like everyone else (blackmail) turning slowly into a better man by each mistake he took and finally being ready to sell, bankrupt himself to pay off Blair's debt. It showed for me how far he came wether it was deserved is another debate but it was the entertainment.
They are all Enablers, Blair my fave, is an abusive tyrant + bully who challenged Chuck to go after J in the pilot where he was the planned villain, Nate dated a teen, he is a p*do, Dan is GG, stalker and hara$$er who tried to ruin everyone's life. Serena filmed Dan and her sleeping the released it without his consent. She made sure that happened.
In the end they condoned everything and never judged each other. In my eyes the same breed.

I personally think that Blair and Chuck is the best relationship- not because they make each other better or crap like that but because they love and embrace the worst parts of each other and they’ve loved each other to “better” people. Their chemistry and just their characters had a lot of similar values and goals which meant they made so much sense. They were also committed to being “better” but for each other with Chuck having more sympathy and care whilst Blair being able to let herself embrace her darkness- none of her other partners would have been capable of letting her be her evil, scheming self, running an empire and all of that like Chuck did. (Side note: my love for Chuck and Blair as a couple doesn’t mean I excuse all of his bad actions not only towards Blair but also towards others).
I think that Dan was a great frenemy for Blair and their chemistry like that was amazing- simply because they were like the same person in slightly different fonts and that made them a fun friendship to explore but dating each other went against the fundamental values of the two characters (imo).
Louis was an amazing partner to Blair (healthy and making her a more happy version of herself) but I understand that, for the sake of the fans at the time, they had to make him unlikeable and unlovable to give Blair a reason to want Chuck (not that she needed one tbf). I think that maybe it was that he didn’t understand Blair’s dark side and couldn’t embrace it because he was so used to loving the public image of perfection Blair had and he wanted to believe that that was who she was. And although he was insecure (for which he had a valid reason to be), he had so much love for one specific side of Blair that their relationship was doomed from the start because he couldn’t understand Blair’s need to be the way she is.
Nate (for me ofc) is a good and horrible first boyfriend that was meant to teach Blair a lot about what she wanted and didn’t want in a relationship. He was good in terms of his patience with Blair’s antics and his self-sacrificing puppy nature. However, I think that he was also distant, absent, naive and incompetent as a partner to Blair. She needed an equal, not a child to guide on his way to whatever goal he had. I will also never forgive Nate for sleeping with Serena when he and Blair were together and for his actions regarding that event subsequently. That taught Blair a lot about loyalty (not that she didn’t know already). But yeah, although he was seemingly good to her for an innocent, puppy love for Blair for a few years in their youth, by the Thanksgiving flashback, it is clear he is not the man to stand by Blair and be her number one fan in the same way that Chuck is.
Sorry if this is a bit of a rant, just had some thoughts on the ranking.
This!!! I often see ppl saying Dan should've been it but in my eyes he always tried to change her, Blair and Chuck accepted each others worst. They never needed to pretend to be better or change. Dan and Blair made no sense to me for Blair's character

@@marple4830 I personally think that Dan was judgemental in a way that wasn’t like Blair- in the sense that he was so righteous and had a victim mentality throughout the show. He was a child that yes, wasn’t as rich as the other four but he was relatively wealthy too so his victim mentality and acting like he wasn’t also a Nepo baby. He also acted so righteous when in reality he was just as bad if not ultimately worse than the others, seeing as he was Gossip Girl. I think that those traits of his weren’t compatible with someone like Blair who was openly the “villain” and didn’t ever pretend to be a better person than others. I think that whilst both of them were excellent intellectual snobs (and that worked for a semi-friendship, or at least an understanding between them), that wasn’t enough of a foundation for a relationship. In addition, a central part of Blair’s values as a character was that she didn’t like those socially or financially below her and a relationship with Dan went against her entire build-up as a character. Also, I think that Dan cheating on Blair with Serena knowing that Blair has always felt insecure and unlovable in comparisson to Serena and knowing how betrayed Blair felt with the whole Nate and Serena situation was so sad. It showed, to me, that Dan could never be Blair’s man. In comparisson, when Chuck and Blair were together, she was the only woman for him and he never once wanted to be with someone else, let alone with Serena. And Chuck was also one to embrace his privilege and not be ashamed of it or in denial (Rory Gilmore style) like Dan was. So yeah, people really liked the idea of Dan and Blair being the ultimate enemies to lovers and an intellectual couple was appealing to many of Chair’s haters when in reality, there was no base for anything but a frenemy relationship.
I totally agree that Blair and dan should have just been friends, especially because, if you just focus on everything we know about dan from the last FOUR seasons, blair isn't his type at all. he's always liked the humble and nice girls, which Blair is not at all. Even in season 4, Ivy/Charlie says 'Dan loves a damsel in distress". But even then I can still understand his crush on her and whatnot, like with their common interests and just the Blair in general is an amazing person but maybe that's just my bias. Mostly I just don't understand why Blair would romantically like Dan, he doesn't suit her type AT ALL, like zero exceptions to the rule yknow.

I LOVE Dair as a friendship - that scene where they are watching the film together over the phone is so sweet. But it’s obvious that Chuck and Blair are meant to be in that they don’t, and will never, love anyone as much as they love each other. Yes, they’re toxic, but I honestly can’t think of a single couple on the show who isn’t. Chair romantic scenes always just leave me giggling and kicking my feet
Jack was in season 2, mid season finale time. She was barely 18, which still makes Jack a grooming creep.
If anything, I'm a Chair shipper because as I've grown up, I've realized that they are the absolute truth with each other--and they not only know each other's dark sides, they still love each other with those dark sides there. And in the end, they didn't encourage those dark sides with each other so they actually became better for each other. Yes, Chuck is still a felon in many ways after that marathon redemption arc and Blair is still the meanest girl anywhere she goes--however, we all have dark sides and in many ways, we don't accept a lot of people's dark sides in our life. It is inspiring to actually see 2 characters love each other, light and dark.

Chair did have some chemistry and made sense at the beginning, but they were one of the worst and abusive couples and Blair deserved better than Chuck.

Dan and Blair, anyone & anytime someone mentions Chair, I say “correction it’s Dair”. Because Dan never sold Blair to a uncle for a hotel. He did not force himself on Blair. He did not try and sleep with an under age girl and more so he did not cause Blair any emotional abuse.
Dan listened to Blair. He valued what she wanted and the things that she said he showed vulnerability that Chuck only showed too little too late. And plus their status didn’t matter it’s only about what they gave each other emotionally but all it took was those chair fans to ruin a good relationship that was so fresh and I was so built up just so they could have their endgame.
Dair was the healthiest relationship in the show . I loved how they bonded over Nerdiest stuff. It like showcased blair in a new light which was contradictory to her vindictive and scheming personality. And dan as well for the time he didn't leave someone for not living according to his presumptions and selflessly sticking when she needed someone. I loved their but them being a couple was so random and didn't make sense at all. Then we knew dan only falls in love with a certain side of people's personality be it serena or Blair. He never truly accepted the blair at heart is a selfish person who only cared for her close ones .

The Dan and Blair friendship was superior. I feel like they could've been a good couple but when Dan starts to have feelings for Blair he becomes like Joe from You. He doesn't quip with Blair anymore and just takes her insults and plots to do crazy things to destroy her relationships behind her back. If they let Joe continue to be his sassy, noncrazy self when he's actually dating blair i think it could've been good.
Entertaiment-wise, yes Chuck & Blair 1st for sure. But with time, I realised that Dan & Blair are the most obvious best couple. They're SO good for each other together. Their chemistry was amazing, and they destroyed their relationship and made Dan do weird shits cause they wanted chuck and blair as endgame, which was quite frustrating cause technically it was clearly the right time for blair to move on from chuck and the awful things he did to her and for her character development it would have been the best

Blair & Jack slept together over new years in season 2 because she was trying to find out where Chuck was cause this was after his dad passed and he disappeared. And she was 18 at the time. Still supper gross and I wish it never happened.
For Louis, I thought they were cute in Paris and then when he first came back to her with the shoe. But there was never really and chemistry & he could never trust or believe her.
I agree that I liked Dan & Blair as friends and I thought they had good chemistry there but there was no romantic chemistry between them. I wish they would have had them kiss but then realize that there was nothing there and they are better off as friends. I will say that Dan was more trusting in Blair then he was in Serena.

Ah Blair. I love that girl. She's the Queen Bee, the princess and I love that. Is she a good person? Hell no! But I love her anyway. At the same time you can't blame her considering the way she was raised and the issues with her mother regarding her weight and eating habits was so awful. Then her dad cheating on her mom only to find out he's gay and he moves away. Blair is definitely flawed and has issues and you can kind of see where it comes from. Even so, I love that she is the Queen Bee and basically runs the school and she has her little minions and her schemes. It's so great. Definitely makes for great TV. I also love Leighton. She's so gorgeous and sweet and she is the perfect Blair in my opinion. When it comes to your rankings I pretty much agree with you. The only thing I would change is that I'd move Carter higher up to number 4 and push Louis and Cameron down to 5 and 6. I really liked Carter and his dynamic with Blair was great. I would have loved to see that relationship explored further. I am in agreement with your top 3 and the order you put them in. Like I said in your Nate video Blair and Nate were really cute and sweet together for a time but they obviously were not meant to be and that's okay. I like them as friends and I'm glad they stayed that way to the very end. Honestly, Nate was way too nice for her and as you know I like him with Serena. Him and Serena are a better match and her and Chuck are a better match. Now when it comes to Dan and Blair I did like them together. There was some chemistry and I liked their banter and intellectual interests and conversations. They had their cute, sweet moments, but they were not meant to be. I think Dan should've been with Vanessa and Blair was meant to be with Chuck as I've said. Now, let's talk more about Chair and why they're number 1. Chuck and Blair have a lot of common. They are both flawed, scheming, terrible people and I love their dynamic together. Chuck was her first. He was the one who ended up taking her virginity and that changed her. She had never experienced such passion like she did with Chuck. Chuck was a bad boy. He was dark, mysterious, and exciting. That scene in the limo is iconic. Ugh! So good! The music, the chemistry, the tension was off the charts and when they leaned in and kissed I lost my shit. I was like 'Holy shit this is so hot! Wow! Such passion, such heat!' I love that scene so much and it's a scene I would shamelessly rewind and watch again and again because of how amazing it is. That first kiss was everything and it started the whole rollercoaster of their relationship for the rest of the show. I love that afterwards Blair was initially in denial, yet she couldn't deny her attraction to Chuck no matter how hard she tried. All the sexy tension between them was so so good and when they both finally gave in I was like yaaaassss. I love their relationship so much and I was utterly consumed and invested in it to the very end. They were both the other half to each other, partners in crime and it just worked. I loved when they schemed together, their sexy evil games, the teasing. Yet at the same time there was so much emotion and passion as well that was undeniable. They go through a lot together and there are a lot of ups and downs but in the end, they were always meant to be together and I'm so happy they got that happy ending. They had such sweet moments together. I loved everything about their story. Both the good and the bad. I do agree about not liking Louis because I felt he was getting in the way of Chuck and Blair being together. Chuck and Blair deserve each other. They are the ultimate power villain couple and I love them so much. So yeah, Chair all the way! Sorry not sorry!

The fact that you don't have Cameron DEAD LAST already tells me your list can be improved. He's literally THE most forgettable of all of them. Zero chemistry. Zero storyline. Nobody cares. Carter deserved a much better place, they've hooked up multiple times over the years, it's just that sometimes it's alluded to rather than outright shown on the show. Completely agree with what you say about Louis, they were sweet in the beginning and throughout their engagement up until Blair started lying to him, slept with Chuck, the fiasco with Dan and then Louis' trying to ruin Chuck etc.
My list goes like this (I don’t even count Jack): Marcus, Louis, Nate, Carter, Cameron, Chuck, and Dan.
Marcus was gross PERIOD. Louis not being a snake from the beginning makes it even worse for me. People forget Nate was with Blair because she gave the Archibald’s status and helped his dad’s career, he always had a crush on Serena. Carter, meh at least he wasn’t a complete d. Cameron was willing to get to know the real Blair and that’s what she wanted, but she wasted the opportunity. Chuck deserves better, Blair deserves better; just like she came to the conclusion that Nate had to stay in high school, she needed to leave Chuck behind. Dan started out as a friend, he waited so long for her to be ready, he respected her boundaries and was willing to let her be herself, and encouraged her to embrace her scheming side lmao (plus he was also willing to mentally accept her friendship with Chuck). Dan and Serena were too toxic for each other, it felt gross and wrong to me that they ended up together.
