The name of the first Electronic Computer was actually called "Colossus" and was built in Britain. Granted it was necessarily kept secret during the Second World War, and for many years afterwards. Therfore alhough ENIAC appeared to be the first Electronic Computer, I would have expected history to have been corrected by 2000 never mind the 2020s. Poor forgotten Tommy Flowers. My apologies if I seem somewhat pedantic, but as People trust the answers and occasionally learn from these sites accuracy is essential. Actually, the question would have been quite acceptable had it read "What was the name of America's first Electronic Computer started in 1943?". Happy New Year 2022.
Thank you for this info. I’m American but this question is one that I missed because my answer was Colossus. Even though I counted it as one of my six missed questions, I’m glad to know I was actually right.
A journalist friend of mine who visited China when it first opened up to Australians, reported that the hotel he stayed at had the world's slipperiest floors. They used a floor polish called "The Great Leap Forward".
overall nice but some big mistakes: 8 - Gutenberg invented the mobile letter cases and the printing, but the inking was not mechanized, the ink was appiled manually on each page 9 - no mention of Pakistan ??? 20 - Marie Antoinette never said that quote, totally fabricated
There is one mistake that everybody makes: At 5:05 you show the painting „la liberte guide les peuples“ by Delacroix. This painting is always associated with the french revolution, but its from the Revolution of July 1830.
I missed 5. I didn’t know what Turing’s computer was named, when Rome was founded or what Bombay used to be called and didn’t know what Canada was derived from, or the name of the Korean Emperor (who knows that?).
In the past the trivia were multiple choice. You can check those out in the playlist below when you have time! ua-cam.com/play/PLfbSejiSSajcdMp_2z8EaJF7jLks_k8HB.html

Good quiz, especially so for omitting multiple choice answers.
Great stuff
Very Interesting Quiz.
Thanks Helen. Glad you had fun!
Who the Hell goes around knowing what year Rome was founded? LOL, that one i missed.
In German, there's a rhyme saying "Sieben fünf drei, Rom springt aus dem Ei" (Seven five three, Rome jumps off the egg). Silly but it helps.
Wow I knew some of this. Great video. Great information.
Thanks for playing Malcolm! Glad you found it informative.

Good question ❤
Knew quite a few answers, but learned a lot. Thanks...
Glad it was helpful!
overall nice but some big mistakes:
8 - Gutenberg invented the mobile letter cases and the printing, but the inking was not mechanized, the ink was appiled manually on each page
9 - no mention of Pakistan ???
20 - Marie Antoinette never said that quote, totally fabricated
Thanks for the clarifications/corrections!
Marie absolutely said that she told me herself.
To be fair, the question stated that it was attributed to her, not necessarily that she actually said it.
40/50. "could do better" as my old teachers used to tell me.
Good stuff Mark! Your teachers taught you well. Thanks for playing :)
10 out ot all

There is one mistake that everybody makes: At 5:05 you show the painting „la liberte guide les peuples“ by Delacroix. This painting is always associated with the french revolution, but its from the Revolution of July 1830.

Napoleon was exiled to Elba in 1814 not in 1815. In 1815 he was exiled to St. Helena, in the southern Atlantic ocean
21/50. Not bad for a 19 YO kid.
2 su 50
I missed 5. I didn’t know what Turing’s computer was named, when Rome was founded or what Bombay used to be called and didn’t know what Canada was derived from, or the name of the Korean Emperor (who knows that?).

Herbert Hoover appeared on a early mechanical television in 1930. It is said he sweated too much from the massive lighting it took to view him.

I got 41 and I am only 18, some things I didn’t knew but it was interesting
Nicely done Ruben! Thanks for playing
Napoleon was sent to St Helena after Waterloo, not Elba. He escaped from Elba which led to his famous 100 days of ruling again.
Thanks for the clarification Annie.
The question could have been worded better but the word “prior” was the clue. 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
I'm not going nuts then! I thought it was St Helena too
I got caught out on that one too, answering St. Helena, when it was Elba. I missed the words "prior to." I'm putting it down to my advanced years LOL!
I think the question asked which island BEFORE Waterloo.
I got 44 even though I’m 13
Nicely done! Thanks for playing
I got 11...
