I've watched (or attempted to watch) several UA-cam videos now on how to prune summer-fruiting raspberries. Most of the videos were long and overwhelming and confused me more than helped me. Bob, you were concise while being specific, and I now feel quite confident to dive in and accomplish this task. Thank you very much from Greg in Oregon!
Thanks for this video. I have already pruned the tops off around 3.5 feet. Now, I've got a lot of side shoots and I didn't know what to do with them. I will prune them around 12 to 15 inches. First year growing raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. It's a little different for each one. This is the only video I could find the mentioned pruning the side shoots.
Excellent instruction. I just bought a home that has raspberry bushes in the backyard and I need to learn all there is to know about caring for them. It's August here in Ontario and I guess it's time for me to get doing some pruning. Thanks for sharing.
Very easy, and simple! Thanks! I'm trading some of my garden plants for thornless raspberries...now I know exactly how to care for them...thanks you! Eastern Washington State
Thanks for the video. I've watched about 4 videos now and they all differ a bit, but overall the same. I'll watch a few more and decide when to prune. Right now its the end of July 2021.

The leaves make an excellent tea...might harvest some from the cuttings.
I can't believe that, when I went to 6 different supermarkets and, fruit stands..., they didn't know what Raspberries were! INCREDIBLE!!!
