Sun breathing was the predecessor of all breath styles. I can only imagine Yoriichi as fast Zenitsu or Tengen, as strong as Gyomei, as smooth as Giyu, and as savage as Sanemi and Rengoku.

I absolutely love how what makes Tanjirou unique as a breath user is that he seems more aware of how breathing types are relatives of one another with Sun Breathing as their common ancestor. While I'm sure other users are aware of it subconciously, adapting their styles to suit them, they more or less learn to perfect their forms. Tanjirou, on the other hand, hasn't fully mastered any of his styles, but compensates for it by incorporating and mixing whenever he is in a tight spot.

I like how, not only does his movement reflect his blending of Thunder Breathing, his actual breath at the end shifts from a slightly jagged yellow of Thunder Breathing, to the normal color and shape associated with Sun Breathing.
The camera work is the exact same as the first time Zenitsu used his thunder breathing,it has been years since the last time I saw that scene but I instantly recognized the parallel as soon as it happened,that’s how impactful that scene was.
It’s really incredible, he was able to use Thunder Breathing without any sort of training in it it, only a brief summary from Zenitsu and he was actually able to do it before quickly switching to Sun Breathing.

Of course his main focus is the HK but he has adapted several other techniques and made them his own such as combining water with the HK, his use of thunder breathing for increased speed/leg strength, water for defense, wind for repeated motions and flame to allow his body to maintain the needed temperature for the HK. At this point he has, kind of, created his own unique style which embodies several.

Start at his back left foot, moving up along the extended leg, then the camera pulls back to a 3/4 view of the whole character, then *flash*. Vanish in a blur of yellow. It's fucking genius they did that.
I understand that his main style is sun breathing, which gave birth to all other breathing styles so i guess it makes sense why he can do this. But at the same time, this feels like another one of tanjiro's ass pulls due to the fact that he is the main character
But that's the thing anybody can learn any breathing Style...since all these techniques come from sun breathing, Tanjiro has a understanding of water breathing and is learning sun breathing and he most likely talks about techniques with his friends and watches them training so its not to hard to believe that he would get a very basic understanding of some different breathing Styles.

In my opinion, although the movement may look and sound like Thunder Breathing, Tanjiro did not use the Thunder Breathing technique. He just applied a basic principle of the thunder breathing technique to achieve remarkable speed. Using the basic principle and using the real thunder breathing technique are two different things.

He might not used the technique properly but he did used the basics of the thunder breathing, and applied it to Hinokami Kagura.

Dancing Flash isn’t an actual Sun Breathing form. It’s a modified version of Dance with an added dash before the downwards slash, which Tanjiro came up with to catch up to Hantengu. The Japanese makes this much clearer, with the name being Enbu Issen (from “enbu”, “dance” and “hekireki issen”, thunderclap and flash”). Dance does not resemble Water Surface Slash. It’s typically depicted as a downwards slash with both hands where Water Surface Slash is a horizontal left handed slash. Fake Rainbow does not at all resemble Dead Calm. It involves the creation of an afterimage and doesn’t reflect attacks at all, where Dead Calm involves swinging one’s blade one reflex to destroy all incoming attacks at imperceptible speeds.

You are insinuating that mastering water breathing would allow demon slayers to learn other breathing techniques easier, which isn't correct. Water Breathing is the most common because it's the easiest to master, but this doesn't mean that mastering water will allow other breathing techniques to come more naturally. If this were the case, then everybody capable of using a breathing-technique would be able to use water-breathing. Water-breathing is the easiest to master because it has been the most popular breathing technique for ages. It was the second breathing technique developed after Sun breathing, so naturally it would overtime be considered the most common/easiest due to the sheer number of demon slayers in the past that had mastered it after learning from their teachers/peers as well as the wealth of knowledge passed down through time. Also, for the record, demon slayers being able to use any breathing techniques is very uncommon. Tanijro was able to use Thunder breathing because of his particular skill in mastering Sun breathing (the original breathing technique). This is why he can use 3 types of breathing techniques. We shouldn't use him as a reference because he is unique. I'd say water breathing is pretty balanced in terms of offence and defence. Flame/Stone is likely the more defensive.

He used total concentration breathing to emulate the speed feat of thunderclap and flash but he didn't actually carry out the move. He switched to hinokami kagura as soon as he closed the gap and winded up a strike instead of slashing as he moved. He also knew how to do it, ONLY because zenitsu literally told him how. Not because of hinokami kagura. The only move even similar to thunderclap and flash is dancing flash and he only used that AFTER doing doing this. I feel like the reason why Zenitsu wasn’t in here was because if he was he could easily catch Hantengu running without trouble. He can breath with fire, water, and thunder now. He uses sun breathing like many people mentioned which makes him able to use all other forms. The sword being black also is a mix of every color. All colors together make black!

Tanjiro isnt just using sun breathing at this point, hes mixing sun breathing with other breathings. Making it more powerful. Maybe Yorrichi did that but subconsciously
Sun Breathing is ALL the breathing styles combined. It is the original style, where all the others are just offshoots which were created to focus on specific aspects because nobody but Yoriichi could master everything.
In my opinion, although the movement may look and sound like Thunder Breathing, Tanjiro did not use the Thunder Breathing technique. He just applied a basic principle of the thunder breathing technique to achieve remarkable speed. Using the basic principle and using the real thunder breathing technique are two different things.

I like how in that one article, the author points out that there were no lightning in that panel and it only showed the flames from Hinokami Kagura so he must've not used thunder breathing,
Then the anime disproves this by using Zenitsu's theme motif, A thunder sfx, Yellow vfx on first the dash and lightning vfx on Dancing Flash...
He might not used the technique properly but he did used the basics of the thunder breathing, and applied it to Hinokami Kagura.

Dance is similiar to water surface slash, dark moon and blazing universe as they all share the techniwue of a high powered close range slash
Dancing flash resembles thunderclap and flash, shifting flow slash and flaming thunder god as both involve the action of dashing towards the target to slash them
Clear blue sky resembles water wheel as both require doing a 360 slash
Raging sun resembles striking tide and flame dance as both require two slashes
Burning bones summer sun resembles scattering mist splash as both involve the action of swinging their sword infront of them
Sunflower thrust resembles drop ripple thrust, low clouds distant haze and just about every insect breathing form
Sun halo dragon head dance resembles flowing dance and constant flux as they involve a frequent curving motion for momentum

Dancing Flash isn’t an actual Sun Breathing form. It’s a modified version of Dance with an added dash before the downwards slash, which Tanjiro came up with to catch up to Hantengu. The Japanese makes this much clearer, with the name being Enbu Issen (from “enbu”, “dance” and “hekireki issen”, thunderclap and flash”).
Dance does not resemble Water Surface Slash. It’s typically depicted as a downwards slash with both hands where Water Surface Slash is a horizontal left handed slash.
Fake Rainbow does not at all resemble Dead Calm. It involves the creation of an afterimage and doesn’t reflect attacks at all, where Dead Calm involves swinging one’s blade one reflex to destroy all incoming attacks at imperceptible speeds.
Water Breathing makes use of almost basic movements, that’s why it is said to be the most common breathing style. This therefore opens up to the possibility of a water breathing practitioner being able to use other breathing styles once water breathing has been mastered.
Water breathing is more for defense, so being able to use other breathing styles, especially the offensive ones, would be best for the user.
Not necessarily. Each of the main breathing techniques are unique. You are insinuating that mastering water breathing would allow demon slayers to learn other breathing techniques easier, which isn't correct. Water Breathing is the most common because it's the easiest to master, but this doesn't mean that mastering water will allow other breathing techniques to come more naturally. If this were the case, then everybody capable of using a breathing-technique would be able to use water-breathing.
Water-breathing is the easiest to master because it has been the most popular breathing technique for ages. It was the second breathing technique developed after Sun breathing, so naturally it would overtime be considered the most common/easiest due to the sheer number of demon slayers in the past that had mastered it after learning from their teachers/peers as well as the wealth of knowledge passed down through time.
Also, for the record, demon slayers being able to use any breathing techniques is very uncommon.
Tanijro was able to use Thunder breathing because of his particular skill in mastering Sun breathing (the original breathing technique). This is why he can use 3 types of breathing techniques. We shouldn't use him as a reference because he is unique.
I'd say water breathing is pretty balanced in terms of offence and defence. Flame/Stone is likely the more defensive.
@@jadduck Tanjiro's knowledge of Hamina has nothing to do with him using Thunder breathing. Anyone can use any type of breathing if they know how, it's just a breathng technic after all. But it may not suit them and therefore making style weaker, like Flame breathing doesn't suit Mitsuri or Thunder doesn't suit Tanjiro
@@jadduck Incorrect tanjiro never used thunder breathing as thunder breathing refers to that style of fighting and all the forms associated with it. He used total concentration breathing to emulate the speed feat of thunderclap and flash but he didn't actually carry out the move. He switched to hinokami kagura as soon as he closed the gap and winded up a strike instead of slashing as he moved. He also knew how to do it, ONLY because zenitsu literally told him how. Not because of hinokami kagura. The only move even similar to thunderclap and flash is dancing flash and he only used that AFTER doing doing this.
Also literally anyone can use any amount of breathings they want. This isn't god damn avatar bro

I feel like the reason why Zenitsu wasn’t in here was because if he was he could easily catch Hantengu running without trouble. Not to mention he’s been doing it longer than Tanjiro and has adjusted his entire body to using Thunder Breathing, so imagine how much faster he could be when they were chasing him
But tanjiro is more apt to using thunder breathing unlike zenitsu who only knows 1 form, tanjiro knows all the 6 forms of thunder breathing.

I swear it shows him unlock the slayer mark so many times in the swordsmith village, like when he used thunderclap and flash, when he used waltz flash, when he was decapitating feartengu and when he used sun halo dragon head dance, heck, he even unlocked it just to shout at hantengu to not run from his resposibilities! Check for yourself!
He can breath with fire, water, and thunder now. He uses sun breathing like many people mentioned which makes him able to use all other forms. The sword being black also is a mix of every color. All colors together make black!
