    really, does anyone get any issues with any car after 200 miles?

      john cramer I have a 2015 just broke 100k still running brand new. I kept up with all the maintenance, and drive it daily. Been to multiple states.
      I've always been a GC but previous before my 2015 I had a 07 and it gave me minor problems.

      I’m about to buy this one. I’m using a 1996 grand Cherokee limited. It has been very good to me. I’ve only had to change the spark plugs, brakes and battery which wasn’t expensive at all.

    Thanks a lot for the review and taking the time to inform potential buyers like myself who are on the market for this type of vehicle. A dealer will only give you the good things about the car, but not the negatives. People like you are the ones that gives the best feedback.
    Now, about what's your average fuel economy. How much did you pay out the door for the car.

    I ordered my 2014 from the factory, set up just like yours but different color combo. (I have 10K miles at this time). Two important points to add;
    1. the tire/wheel combination, we have, provides a softer ride than the larger wheel/low profile tire configuration.
    2. when you have the Trailer Tow Pkg. we also receive half of the air ride system of the Overland. It is an auto leveling system. This also adds to ride quality.
    Ride quality is very important to me as I' like many other men, have a bad back. We are very happy with our 2014 as it has passed my bad back long trip test :-)

    Great review!! I've had mine (2014 Limited V-6) for 3 months I'm averaging 20.5 mpg combined city/highway. The only thing that may be an issue down the road is the battery is under passenger seat. If it ever goes dead you won't be able to move the power seat forward to replace it. After putting 2400 miles on it I would definitely recommend this vehicle, I love mine!!

    We have the 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited and have had it for about 10 months now. Has anyone had a problem with the UConnect system? We are constantly getting the message "vehicle phone requires service". The radio has been replaced twice and have had it to the dealer at least 4 times for service updates. The latest was Friday and Saturday the message appeared again. Twice the radio quit altogether, but returned after restart.

    Good review, but you have to realize that a TRUE unbiased review is one from someone who has no vested interest in any way. An owner or a dealer is inherently biased. Dealers want to sell the vehicle and owners want to feel that they made a "good" choice in buying the vehicle.
    I'm shopping now for a midsize SUV and I'm leaning heavily toward the 2014 Grand Cherokee. I did find your review helpful overall.

    I have the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Diesel. I am amazed with the performance of the diesel. On open highway I'm getting 28 to 33 miles per gallon. On back roads I'm getting 24 to 26 miles per gallon. This is my second Grand Cherokee and it is faster then the 2009 was which was a V-8. Overall I am very inpressed with this car and highly recommand it.

    Great video and giving your honest opinion. Just traded a Challenger RT in for the 2014 GC limited V6 last night. I have zero experience with SUV vehicles, and spent most of my driving life in sporty cars. The snow was coming down and the roads were starting to ice over...perfect conditions to be in a jeep right? So, my first test drive made me nervous before getting in the vehicle. The drive was amazing and all fears of sliding around in a vehicle that was not mine went away! Very smooth ride and sure footed. The auto terrain drive mode returned no slip in the snow whatsoever! Very surprised. A good manual transmission is the way to go, but will say the ZF is liquid smooth. The interior layout is simple and easy to use. The plastic metal look bezel around the radio could be better if I had to nitpic something. BTW, thanks for the tip about dimming the navigation screen. There is plenty of space for rear passengers and overall cargo volume. I had zero intentions of getting an SUV and was set to purchase the new Infiniti Q50x AWD. For what this thing can do on and off road you cant beat it. It pretty much owns the bang for the buck category for SUVs. Good luck to those that have one. If you don't and are interested, definitely give it a test drives chance.

    I own a 14 SRT. The car is nice with lots of power but its main issue in my opinion is the interior quality. The materials used are cheap specially the silver trim on the dash (yours is tan) and the hard plastic in the center console on the sides of the gear shifter. They could use better materials than these. But overall I love my SRT.

    Have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit Diesel , very solid vehicles, the gear shifter could be smoother sometimes u have to make a few attempts to get it into proper gear but it just takes getting used to. Great on fuel for such a fairly hefty vehicle, the price I feel is a bit more than it should be when taking into account depreciation rate compared to some other similar vehicles. Winter is coming So I am excited to see how snow mode with Pirelli Winter carving edge tires turns out int he canadian harsh cold. So far no real problems altho only have 2500 KM or so on the vehicle. In retrospect I kind of wish I had gone fully loaded Overland with the 18 inch rims for a bit softer ride and to be able to get skid plates and trail rated badge, bummer too is this year they added active noise cancelling and sound deadening windshield and rear windows tot he summit as well as a third interior option..oh well. So far good SUV tho. Great review enjoyed it a lot.

    Nice video except, after 4 years of ownership, my 2014 4x4 JGC limited is having major problems, at 83K miles it shouldn’t have any issues! But it’s costing me over $500.00, in repairs. Codes pop up right after another code was repaired. Considering a 4RUNNER for my next SUV.

    +PMHSLight What package gives you the LED bi-xenon headlamps? I am a thirteen year old car geek but my stepmom is getting a new gc soon but wants the LED lights on it. We have noticed that some of the grand cherokee limiteds have the LEDs and some dont.. We really want them, they give the car a highend look, but it is nice anyways.

I'm looking at a 2014-2015:Grand Cherokee living in ON I really am interested in what owners enjoy/dislike about the vehicle. you went with the V6. what mileage are you getting now. do you have the pre collision adaptive cruise and blind spot monitoring. How many MPG are you getting with the V6? Does it take regular or do you need to put in premium fuel? I'm seriously thinking about getting one of these, but I don't have any history or experience with Chrysler's reputation or build quality. I tend to finance my vehicles and want something that's built solid.

    • @rhowell5
      @rhowell5 10 років тому

      Depending on how much you drive you will realistically get get anywhere between 17 to 20 gallons per mile. It takes regular gas or you can put E85 and supposedly you get more MPG (I haven't tried it yet so I can't tell you for personal experience) I got a great deal on mine and have had it for about 3 weeks and I love this SUV. I think its a nice build, solid, rugged, cuts through heavy snow like a hot knife through butter. Good horse power too.

    Great review.. I got the 2015 Limited with the luxury option and love the car so far. Only downside is I thought it came with the navigation since it got the 8.4" screen and it didn't. The dealer in the end activated the Navigation but it's not as nice like the one that comes already activated. So If u want Navigation get one that comes from the factory and not one that's Nav Ready.

      @vaporeizied8 10 років тому

      just a follow up- they went back again with the same issue. it seems to be happening to a lot of people. IMHO, the tech itself is fine, the car makers just dont want to spend the money on making sure its a streamline from car to customer; simply because the cost would push most consumers away.
      offer this tech at this price, well fix a few glitches but were selling units.

      Are you crazy? Why would you put a 17 year old in a $40,000 vehicle? They are going to bang it up - no way around it. Plus the insurance is going to eat your bank account alive. You would be a lot better off putting her in something less expensive (preferably used and already depreciated) and then upgrading her in a couple of years after she has some experience.

    Have you encountered any transmission issues w/ the vehicle so far; possible reliability is the only thing keeping me from buying this vehicle. Much nicer than other vehicles in its class. Would only consider 4Runner Limited as an alternative, but GC has much nicer interior and seems more refined

      I'd take my 2002 4Runner with nearly 200,000 miles over a brand new jeep in reliability. No leaks, no problems. Runs and drives like a dream.

      Yeah, a friend of mine has a 54K 2014 Summit edition that was recently @ the dealership for jerky shifting transmission; luckily for him, it only needed a software update. But things like that really scare me

      Looking at all the problems on UA-cam with these, I'll advise people to stay away until they work out the bugs, chances are they won't. I have a new 2015 4Runner TRD Pro. I love it. Yeah, it doesn't have all the electric gismos that the Jeep has, but nothing common with them at all compared with electrical problems with the Jeep Grand Cherokee

      Owned my 14 Grand Cherokee a couple years now and have had no problems with anything. It seems if something does come up with these jeeps it is easily fixed as you said with just a software update. I do find it funny the other poster(Honda Solutions) says stay away from jeep and he talks about how reliable his 4 runners are when he didn't mention his new 2015 4 runner wouldn't shift into gear and needed a new transmission already with less than 5,000 miles. Ok so any car can have bugs. I can tell you I have owned Grand Cherokees since 1993 and none of them have been problematic and the resale value has been good too.

      The issue is commonality with major problems. Try looking at how many per 1,000 Jeep GC vs 4Runner. Sure, I admit my new 4Runner had to have a transmission replaced. But it took two days, not 3 weeks like most people say it takes. No manufacturers are perfect. But the thing people don't realize with Toyota is that they have the vehicles major components tested for years before they come to the U.S. And most of the time they go into Lexus before getting put into Toyotas for 4-7 years. That means they have most if not all the bugs worked out by the time it gets to building a Toyota. Jeep on the other hand isn't like that. I would still take my old 4Runner in reliability over a brand new Jeep GC, it will hold its value better as well despite having a new 4Runner that had to have a transmission replaced.

    I got a GMC Acadia bc it’s engine reliability ratings but I have to admit I got it because it reminded me of a Jeep Grand Cherokee 👌
