1:52 I think there should be a board or menu where you can see a list of all the guilds in the game with their introduction messages.(maybe search with abbreviations option too) And Guilds can put a custom message about themselves there so they can mention what kind of guild they are (pve, pvp, wvw) and guilds can put their status as open or closed for application. Creating this environment in game will help increasing the immersion and will help players create more interactions and connections inside community instead of going third party to search for interactions.
Wvw is a pillar to the game. It’s just a much smaller pillar than pve. Maybe they should treat their “pillars” more equally with the amount of dev time required and not just have 2 people working part time on it. That way it doesn’t take a decade to get basic features.
I mean it didn't exist at launch did it? it's also just a rip off of Dark ages of camelot. Add to that I havn't noticed the people on my server at least playing the game mode, they just play zerg fight ignoring ptp or anything remotely resembling nuanced game play. I feel like having a 40 vs 40 instanced game mode would serve the community better. I also think the population would plummet if it wasn't a required game mode for legendary creation. This probably wouldn't be a bad thing since (on my server at least) half the people their are just semi afk camp flipping at any given moment.

Destroying server communities is quite a big issue, I understand that we'll basically have guild discords for that purpose, it seems like it will make sense to find a guild even for casual WvW... I hope some effort will be made to make finding a proper WvW guild as easy as possible.
IMO the whole "server community" is a thing people feel they experience because they see the same people in chat and never really have, at least in the EU, since people and entire guilds transfer based on the links or matchups they have. I know that the people who just want a fight try to avoid t1 like the plague since that's pretty much all PPT all the time. If anything, I think this new system will create a stronger community since it disincentives jumping around.
I think the only thing that I remembered bing issue was particularly bad skill lag compared to no WR - I'm assuming it's because they had to mix and match player accts whereas before everyone from one side is from same server. if they can fix that aspect, I was pretty ok with WR. anyone know what happens if u dont have a wvw guild set? do they throw the loose players to pad player count around the matched up guilds? I hope that's the case and I'll get to play with a bunch of different guilds and see how they run before hopefully joining one. the issue with server based is if you don't like any of the guilds on your server, you're basically screwed, or depend on hopefully the linked server have a group you like. and server transfer is so expensive it's not realistic to hop servers until they find a guild the like (not to mention full servers) only sucky thing is with WR I won't be able to go in wvw with my 2 friends who are currently on my server. but they're so new it's gonna be a while before they try wvw anyway edit: free 6th wvw guild slot is highly appreciated, ive been struggling with trying to decide which of my cureent guild to leave, and not having to do so for wvw anymore is very welcomed news!
Well, my first time playing WvW, i thought the red chat was the enemy team 😅 turns out those were peeps on the same team arguing about heaven knows what. These people just are that unhinged that they argue about a thing and fly off to mars from there. 😅 Also, do we have news on WvW trolls? The builders and the troll tact pulls?
i was in the beta as a solo player, what happens is you get put on the same team as one the gigantic guilds such as VIP. these guilds basically have a short time where they are tagged, then log off and everyone logs off with them, causing your side to be really outnumbered. not to mention when they do log in, guilds with so many people tend to have a really low average skill level, so they lose most fights. i recommend you find a medium sized guild to join, just so that the matchmaking won't put you on the same team as one of the "free bag giga guilds"
Would like to see them add conflux recipe to spvp and fractal vendors with equivalent currency cost and add GOB reward track to spvp and make them tradable so that people that don't want to do wvw don't have to for legendaries (only game mode required to get a full legendary set which is dumb. Especially when the game mode has queues). Also if they do another Beta they need to not give extra xp /reward track bonuses. Devs should only have to worry about balancing the mode for people that actually want to participate in it not people just there because they get GOB's faster. Time zone imbalances are great for people that don't want to actually do wvw, with no opposition you can get your weeklies done quick so it's not surprising "they got good feedback"
Has this killed WvW for Oceanic players? I selected a big OCE guild for WvW because I had hopped it would match with others.. But WvW is dead at prime time, are there any unoffical alliance groups for OCE? Because this is the worst update ever, we already picked regions to play on.. and now it seems that people are going to reorganize themselves again.
As long ss I don'y get into a server that mainly speaks french or german :p it:s super annoying to play with those players because they tend to never use english. Just a thought, but when games have the option to have swedish text or even voice - pretty much all swedish people who play games refuse to use it and stick with english because english words are just better sounding.
As a solo player, fighting guild-stacking meta groups that never die is the worst thing for me because they are not affected by anything. They just go for keep or tower lords and take them down fast. Fighting a meta-stacking guild is just suicide. If the permanent WvW beta is filled with such disgusting meta, I will not participate in it, and it will die on its own anyway because meta is not fun. I will just remain on my normal server, open commanders, and random groups. If they wanted to focus on guilds, why didn't they start the idea of wars between guilds within the guild hall?

Therefore, I found that playing alone on the normal server without a guild and joining Open Tag with Friendly Commanders on my server and random groups, is much more enjoyable than forcing me to choose specific classes and builds or facing another guild that uses this undefeated disgusting meta that kills the fun of playing.
A lot of us are pretty used to the same players taking the lead or the same guilds tagging up at usual times, which feels nice. Of course a major point of restructuring is shaking things up in hopes that people will stop relying on the same familiar faces and step into more active roles, and perhaps also to connect that familiarity tighter to guilds. If it goes well it'd be awesome for WvW guilds. Best case scenario there'll be a serious learning curve, though, having to get along with a new group of folks every few weeks. I could see guilds getting along with outsiders a bit less as a result, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. All that said, as a solo-player this is going to suck, I need to find a casual-friendly guild before I get cast adrift...

Phew thanks for this video I nearly paid real money 1 week ago to get 1800gems to transfer regions. I'm fairly new and I thought transferring to EU servers was going to improve my ping but instead it added 100 extra AVG ping lol and I didn't know I would have to pay to transfer back. I did immediately message Anet about my mistake but basically told me I have no choice but to buy 1800 gems.
