it's really crazy that in just a matter of almost 4 hours of travel, you get to arrive at a place wherein the weather, time, language and food scene are entirely different from where you've been. do check out N Seoul Tower, Lotte World, Bukchon Hanok Traditional Village, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Myeongdong, Hangang Park and COEX Mall 😁 traveling to Asian countries like Singapore, Seoul or Tokyo gives Filipinos a glimpse of what life is like in a first world country. disheartening really when you notice how vast the differences are, still, i am thankful that i am a Pinoy living in the Philippines 😊
The streets are sooo quiet and empty for a city. And clean !!!!! Wish Manila is the same. The only saving grace is Filipinos are friendlier and more hospitable, I think .

I've been here 18 months, and I gotta say that Waze is definitely the easiest app for English speakers. Plus it has a "terminator" mode so you can have Arnold tell you where to go.

the heating is usually through the floor (using a gas boiler) -> hot water circulating in pipes embedded under the floor

If you find difficulty in locating an area, the young people can be very helpful because they have an app on their celphones that can help you where to go. Young people are also familiar with the
english language especially the students or the working people. Good luck in your travel.

i noticed that cold countries tend to be quiet than tropical countries. even new york the most densely populated city in the world is quiet during winter! maybe because people dont want to talk and stay outside shivering with cold. they would rather stay indoor warmed. even birds can't do any noise during winter... lol> in the philippines i think even roosters are actively making noisy! lol

There are very very few homeless in Seoul, but the area near Seoul Station is a gathering place for the homeless in Seoul.

If you happen to lose your train cards and you haven't got out yet of the train exit, just approach the personnel in the small windowed offices there/info places ,and they will let you out with no issues.

I remember feeling cold when we we to Nami and it is 11 degrees lol... I hope you can go to a kid's cafe for Story... There's a lot of great kid's cafe in Seoul that Story will love so much... COEX starfield library and also lotte tower is a must for me... I enjoyed those places

If I may recommend, never map/navi or kakao map, are best maps to use in Korea particularly. Especially in Seoul. For the metro/trains there are several apps available. You can go around Seoul via the subway, it's very intuitive. If you're place is somewhere nearby the line 2(green color-code) subway line then its lot easier because that's the main line that goes around almost all of the major places in Seoul

I looked at the weathr forecast of Seoul and I saw there is a chance of snow on the 26th of December. Seems the same temperature here in Maryland. Everything seems to be in order. I need to go here one day. Thank you for showing Korea. Opened my eyes how different this place is compare to the U.S.

Seeing Korea thru your lenses, the scenery where there was nothing but water, it was quite spooky. Then came next the very industrial look in factories. Then, when you were walking, wherein it was very quiet, which quite unfathomable to comprehend most specially to Filipinos where the surroundings are loud, littered with people and everybody in their casual homey get ups and flip flops.
Does anyone notice how tall Story is getting, amazing.

I think google maps is meant to be like that in Seoul because technically, they are still at war with the North. So any detailed information about the locations especially in the city; buildings, streets, alleyways, shortcuts etc is, for lack of better word, hard to access. Just a guess though.
Edit: and, you got to have the Korean equivalent of Google Map, where it is monitored by the Korean Government.

Koreans like to go to the Philippines to learn English. Roundtrip flight from Cebu to Seoul is about 140 USD
