If it's any consolation, one of the endings in the visual novel has Kirino become a literal yandere(Ayase is kinda just LARPing). She becomes completely obsessed and possessive of Kyousuke and grabs his arm forcefully outside the school, not letting him leave. So it's like what she would be like if she became a true yandere.

I think it's based on personal opinion, but I can definitely say there are VERY heavy parts of this anime that people would unanimously agree fall under the definition of serious. As for the overall tone of the anime, watching the first parts of it I too would probably agree it is light hearted. If i go back and watch it over again with the second part and ending in mind, I would view the whole thing again. Let me just say this, the subject at hand is difficult for western culture (at least) to accept, and from a neutral standpoint and non bias view, there are characters within the anime that take a pretty heavy (emotional?) beating. So yeah, if you can stomach the plot and genre/category, then it's a pretty good watch through and through. I say again though, us in the west couldn't really imagine such an in-family struggle unless you'd like to stereotypically categorize somewhere like Alabama, and then again, it doesn't properly fit.

Watched the entire anime because of this amv and holy shit I can say this amv concept was way better than the anime itself, to me anyway.

I actually have never seen this anime, but this video would have made me think it was a dark one! Great job with it! :) I love when someone is able to take a more innocent show and put another story behind it. I think that takes talent ^^
I feel kinda bad for the people who saw this and then started watching Oreimo and expecting it to be violent and bloody. XD For those who don't know, it's a mixture or Oreimo and School Days. The creator just used clever editing to make Oreimo look dark.
The little sister is otaku and is especially obsessed with hentai games with little sisters, because she thinks little sisters are cute and adorable. The brother ends up finding out about her hobbies and helps keep her secret and find her friends with similar interests (day to day the girl is one of the popular kids and even does modelling therefore why her hobbies have to be kept secret) shes really kind of a bitch to her brother 95% of the time. Long explanation i know
Keelan Barron Adding to what Richard Wiswell said, it's also a harem anime, the main character's sister is also one of the love interests. It's certainly not a show for everyone, but although it's not the best show out there I do find it enjoyable. It really isn't everyone's cup of tea though.

Basically her friends are models as well and are also really popular, and they would disapprove of the games she enjoys so she keeps them secret.

this guys amv's hardly ever relate to the actual story of the anime he show cases. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. but usually after seeing his amv's it leaves me desiring more from the particular anime he's showcasing because they fall short compared to these amv's which seem to have a story behind them all on their own.

Whoa really well done, considering that the anime is the complete opposite lol, personally I'm ok with the regular story...Unlike many others who commented down here :P But I understand their point of view, a yandere-style story would have been more "dinamic", I guess....? Still not so fond of fucked up and insane female characters actually ahaha....At least, not when they end up killing everyone FOR REAL LOL...Because, well...That's pretty sad....Also, Kirino is not Yunou, you know? (Unintended pun, I swear). I think she's cute and adorable just the way she is : ) Great video regardless ;)

It might not be the best song to relay the anime but, then again, "The boy who murdered love" doesn't fit Hyouka, either. While some AMVs are made specifically to give a glimpse of what an anime is about, others are just for fun, or to tell a different, slightly fanfic-ish story. While I haven't watched this anime (yet) I enjoy the song and the way the video was edited. But of course you are very entitled to your opinion :3

Well, if you only saw the AMV, you might want to know, that it isn't like in the first part of the AMV, where the guy always leaves the girl crying at all. It is rather a tsundere sister and her carying brother.

AMVs still ought to make a connection between the mood and style of the anime and the music used or else a basic connection in the minds of the audience is lost. I too thought this was a bloody awful choice of music to place alongside these images.
There's anime out there far more suitable for the mood of this music and the lyrics even if the finished piece of art is telling a completely different story to the original anime.
