Thank you for posting such a full, robust version of this wonderful song. I grew up in Tamaqua PA and woke up to HOA on WABC every morning. That was in the 60's and I was in high school.HOA was fun to listen to in a much different time. Thank you to HOA too for being such a great and real American!Dr. James S. Fogarty
Wow, I'm back to my childhood in Brooklyn, in my mother's kitchen, when every day, morning until evening, the radio was playing. The WMCA Good Guys were part of the family. It was Mom who first turned me on.
I used to listen to HOA in the mornings many years ago. I always enjoyed this song. He wrote most of the words piecemeal adding a few lines periodically. Great song.
"...and if no one has said as yet, may I be the first to say "Good Morning"..." ... "This is Herb Oscar Anderson saying that I woke up bright and early this morning just to say, "Have I got a song for you"...
When James Petrecca posted this he made a lot of people very happy !!! ( even though it was recorded with older equipment). Just to hear this again at all was wonderful !!! But your BEAUTIFUL CLEAR POST IS AMAZING !!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, Bill
Well, HOA is a national treasure. And to all of us in the radio biz he is much MORE than that. I just lost one very good friend who died at the microphone. I certainly don't want to find this happen any time SOON...but I feel HOA will probably go out the same way. I think he would like that. But in a lotta years from now!
if any of the few people who enjoy this song could please upload the foxtrot version by Sammy Kaye and his orchestra from his Come dance With Me album, I for one would be very happy, It is impossible to find except on vinyl. Nice to hear this one though, I had never heard the lyrics.
R.I.P. God Bless You, Herb Oscar.....The GREATEST morning man in the history of radio BAR NONE!
What great memories! Too bad there are no more Herb Oscar Anderson on radio any more.
We miss you Herb! (R.I.P.)
HOA in the morning!!!!!!! 77 WABC. Thanks for bringing his voice back.
He used to play this on WABC Radio on his morning show.
He would sing that on WABC in the morning. I recall that in 1963.
I remember that HOA would do this song on WABC. usually between 9 and 10 AM.
I grew up with Herb on the radio in NYC. Loved his happy personality. Thanks Herb.

The one and only Herb Oscar Anderson. What great lyrics. They used to put thought into songs.
Super, He made up some lyrics on the fly, each version was a little different. Outstanding talent.
