Had a chuckle watching this review... I just played the game for the past half hour for the first time and wanted to see what other people thought.
I think the big problem this game has is not only is there no real direction other than "get to grinding all this crap you have to make!" but that it overwhelms you with everything all at once. The lack of inventory space wouldn't be that big of an issue if you didn't already have 100 different items in the first 5 minutes of play.
Imagine if you started a game of Stardew Valley and in the first 5 minutes you had gold ore, fish, 6 different kinds of crops, wood, stone, sticks, steel bars, 7-8 tools, eggs, a duck feather, and like 8 different random material things that you'll need 20 hours from now. Now also imagine you open up the crafting menu in Stardew Valley to find 100+ different things you can craft with 500 different materials you'll need to find and you can begin to see why Surviving Titan has problems right out of the gate.
Or should I say lack of gate... as in the gate is open and literally all the content is spilling out. I wasn't even aware you could just find chests full of late game stuff... that just makes it even worse. Also the interface is so annoying I kept forgetting which button closes what, and my crafting bar kept being open 80% of the time and I just wanted everything to get off my screen so I could breathe for 2 seconds. I agree all of the tutorial stuff was a bit much as well. The game lacks any real "design", so to speak. The world is just this huge cobbled together mess of areas, with everything just randomly thrown around like someone shook up a big bowl of items and objects and enemies and then dumped it out.
But my biggest issue is the graphics... Yes I know some people think the graphics look *good* but I can't bare to stare at these repetitive overly detailed grass tiles any longer. It feels like my eyes are crossing.
Can i play it on Android 11?
Is this review bad or good? Well, it's different, and that got me interested. So tired of every review sounding the same. Subscribed.
Review seems to be obsessed with a planet survival game not being set in space.
Game crashes every 4-5 minutes on my IPAD pro.. Don’t buy it for your IPad. UI is poor, combat is very bad. Good luck hitting anything with melee weapons. Skip this garbage game.
The moment you mentioned no mans sky I tuned out. 1/10 for having a rant for the sake of a rant.
