I had a KH500 for nine years, 82 til 91, it was always great fun to ride, one my worst mistakes I've ever made was selling it!

Love the crackle and pop sound . As a 70s two stroke biker it brings back memories . So much nicer biking then in my opinion and much prefer the bikes around that time . Thank-you anyway for great vid . I'm sad for those lost times

This video brings back memories of the ton of smiles I got from riding my KH500 in the 80s.
My only complaint is that you never really got into the powerband and let it sing. These bikes loved to live between 7K and 10K RPM. At the time I had mine, there was virtually nothing around that could keep up with me until over 120 MPH or so. I humbled many a 750 Seca (which was considered the fastest bike on the road back then) owner!
    Thanks for the memories!

Bill - yes the 500 was a fun bike to ride, wish I still had it, bt I sold it and bought an H2 which I had for something like 7 years, I have since sold that one as well, and bought a KH 400 - oddly enough that has period allspeeds fitted. In the process of rebuilding it at the moment, but when I get it going I will post up a video of it.

I so remember that wicked sound. ! My 2nd bike was one of these babies. Used to blow the baffles out of her if I didn't have them tighted up properly! Hit the power band about 7 I think and that rocket would just take off like a bat out of hell ! Sweet ride.. Great vid ! Thx for the memories!

@Bike Bloke - Well basically, I was hit by a car whose driver had been drinking alcohol, and knocked across the road and runover by another car which was coming in the opposite direction to me. I received multiple fractures to both my legs & arms plus various other injuries, which put me in the hospital for over three years. And to date I've had over 40 operations to try and repair the damage that was done. Thankfully I married one of the nurses that took care of me in the beginning and who still takes care of me now, by dressing a wound on my lower left leg which remains open to this day. It's been a long and painful journey but I still refuse to consider amputation. The joys of motorcycling eh!

@@ampersand56 that sounds really nasty, and I hope that you make a full recovery. I hope that the driver who had been drinking felt the full force of the law. Many years ago a young lady was killed on a bike by a drunk driver - lovely sunny afternoon and she was enjoying a ride when a drunk in a car pulled out of a pub onto the main road - she had no chance. Drink drivers I hate them. All the best.

This is not how you ride a mach 3. The powerband starts at 6000 rpm and the gearbox is used to keep the revs up there. Under 6000 rpm you might as well be riding a Honda CB200. Very disappointing. Go out and try again and this time do it properly.
