From Islamic Nation of Indonesia to the LOVE of Christ

- I was born in a Muslim family. I learned to read the Quran from elementary school to Junior High or until my Ustaz (teacher) passed away.
I joined the Islamic organization called NII (Islamic Nation of Indonesia) in the year of 1997, which is a prohibited organization in Indonesia. They recruited me to be a jihadist recruiter, male or female.
In May 1998, there was a nationwide incident in Indonesia called the tragedy of May 98'. That was a plan by my organization, which shocked me. One of the victims is my friend's sister. She was gang raped by a group of Muslims who left her on the street naked.
On January 1st, 1999, I questioned Allah's answer and proved he was a god. Of course, there was no answer.
Since that day, I have left Islam and have been agnostic for 13 years.
At the beginning of 2011, I started attending church after someone emailed me saying," Jesus Loves me." I became enraged because it insulted me, and I hated the name of Jesus, although I began to like Christian songs.
Around the summer of 2012, I played the song" Amazing Love" on my iTunes on a Tuesday evening.
There is something about that song. Every time I try to sing along to the sentence: "Jesus, you are my King," my tongue is in pain and numb.
I went to my room and shut the door while still trying to say the name of Jesus from that song.
Out of my frustration, I shout, "HELP Me, Jesus!
And as soon as the name of Jesus came out of my mouth, I felt there was darkness that came out of me violently. A bright light came from the corner of my room. It was bright, so bright, and filled the whole room. As the light went away, I saw my door was half open, just enough for a person to walk in. I feel the peace and never stop calling the name of Jesus until I fall asleep.
I shared this experience with my roommate, who invited me to her church for a Wednesday evening service.
That night, the pastor (a woman) invited anyone to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, and on that night, I surrendered my life to Jesus. I never looked back until today.

The problem of Nigerian Christians is the design of the British colonialists. Northern Nigeria was not agitating for independence when the Southern part was because they were satisfied by being allowed to practice sharia penal code along side the British law. So Muslims who wanted sharia will use the system, while Christian’s in the north used the British court system . But dispute between Christians and Muslims were settled in the British court system.
When the Southern part were asking for independence, British used violence each time to dismiss their demands by killing some and locking up others, eventually they caved in to the pressure. To ensure the South didn’t benefit from their agitation, they took a lot of northern men to Britain then to train to be armies. So they built the military bases in the north and administrative capital in the South. The northerners were not interested in western education, only Islamic. The southerners were studying in colleges across Britain then, and the colonialists saw them as trouble makers because they were challenging them using their laws and logics. After the so called independence in 1960, animosity began to grow amongst officers in the army because the British had given the control to the north, hence endless military rules in Nigeria.
With military rule, the islamists in the north were emboldened and gradually they made sharia more pronounced than the than the Nigerian law adopted from the colonialists. Killing of Christians and burning churches became a regular incidence in the north. It has now spread to other parts of the country. The western Christians close their eyes when these happen. The news media will refuse to report. Even Catholic Church that is a government on its own,refuse to do anything on the world stage when seminaries have been raided several times and young boys kidnapped and violently killed. Everyone is mute. Now the whole world is supporting Palestinians. I don’t approve of any civilian being killed, but if the civilians won’t condemn Hamas and their violent ways, but kept voting them in to represent them, I don’t know how that is politically right. UN, UNICEF … and what have you organisations seems only to care for the Middle East rather than the whole world.

@@Negev-Israelits only allowed in Bangsamoro Autonomous region (a Muslim majority region) and it isn’t recognized in most of the Philippines especially considering we are over 90% Christian.

i have invited many Muslims to church. Sometimes they were ready to hear and believe. But sometimes i had no idea what impact that had on them. And now with the things happening in the country to which I am most connected in the Muslim world, I now hear from many saying that they remember what they saw in church--that people were at peace and had joy and loved each other. They had never, of course, seen that in the mosque, and it just stayed in their minds as seeds of the Gospel. And now they want to know what it really means to be a believer in Jesus and they put their faith in Him. And then I send them all kinds of things to help them grow in their faith and their walk with Him. That includes the Bible in their language of choice--whichever one is their mother tongue in the nation where they are--plus many other things to help them with knowing Jesus better and better. Plus I answer LOTS of questions for them by the power of the Holy Spirit. And so many times this has started with one visit to a Christian church and remains with them when they go back to their country.

The Bible says, In Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS in high places.” Hosea 4:6 says “my people (believers) are destroyed for lack of knowledge….” Pray for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This is the only way you can withstand sin. The Holy Spirit helps your rebirth by helping you to hate sin, and focus on living righteously.

Brother Faridi, I am Indonesian. Most apostates in Indonesia feel depressed because they no longer have families who want to accept them when extended family members gather to welcome Ramadhan, or when celebrating Eid al-Fitr together, or visiting graves with their families. That is the price that must be paid when they become apostates in Indonesia. But most of them continue to follow Christ until death because they feel that there is nothing more valuable than life in Christ, being saved and guided by Christ, that is more than everything.
