This has been most enjoyable videos of the AT I’ve ever watched. I watched you enjoy this trail like our forefathers would have seen it with very few people. And thank you for not showing us every hostel on the trail.

I was in awe of your trek through the Notch. I've done it north and southbound in summer, and know how deep the holes and caves go. It takes a minute to navigate the Notch with no snow. I was biting my nails, and you did it without snow shoes! Bravo my man, that's one for the books. ✌️

I couldn't have a serious talk with the barefoot guy without saying something like "But Mr Frodo... It's just unnatural." Or "PO-TA-TOES.."

Enjoyed hearing your reflections about making it through the Whites in early Spring. Bravo to you on that accomplishment. Well done. Looks like the deep snow covered some of the tunnels in the notch, so maybe you were able to go over some of those tight spaces instead of under them. Still, as you said the risk was there that you could have fallen into a deep crevasse. Glad you had someone to hike with through that section.

Ahhhhh... not only a BIG deal ~ a HUGE deal!!!!! In such conditions ~ you are almost finished. Such rugged terrain. Safe travels Jaru; and thanks for sharing.

Inspirational and awesomeness, all the way around.
    Your hike is spectacular.
    Very cool on the moose!
    Ummmm, the barefooted person? 😮😅

Looks like you guys hiked over the top of the Mahoosuc notch. Tough, but better than climbing thru the rocks and tunnels.

No, we did both. This is just a 30 second clip. But in most spots it was snowed in.

I think this was one of your best scenery videos yet. Very well filmed! I see why you loved NH. I lived in NH 30 years ago, but on the coast. Very different. Day hiked Mt. Washington and a few other areas in the whites, but never in spring like you.

I think you experienced the very definition of variable trail conditions.

Wildcat was a fun hike in the summer with nice weather. Certainly a challenging uphill and a hard downhill, but after around 1900 miles on the AT you just do it without much trouble.

I'm tired just watching you post hole. Zaps the energy so fast.
    ...
There's a couple places I love to visit in the Olympic rain forest in the spring. The green is so green it takes your breath away. Magical indeed.
    ...
Hope you are enjoying the beach. Looking forward to your next video.

Wildcat Mountain has A through E peaks. A is the tallest, D has the ski area, and A & D are both on the NH48 Four thousand footer list. If you go up E to D from Pinkham, you're going up the steepest section of the entire AT.

I’m watching past seasons of the survival show “Alone.” One lady from season 4 used a green tarp that drove her mad. It was too dark and gloomy. Is that why you use a white tarp? Did you know a green tarp can drive you crazy?

@@JaruWalks lol it is? I thought it was white. Ok, never mind then. And sorry I’m commenting on such old videos now that you’re on the CDT but I have to go in chronological order. Thanks for responding! Keep up the good work!

So if you don't fall through the snow to "CERTAIN DEATH", what's easier, going over the top of the Notch or climbing through all those caverns?
I watched 5Stack and that didn't look fun at all. And can't stop myself asking "Why", why don't they make a bypass?
OK, OK, I can kind of understand going over mountains, you get a view, (but still not convinced it's worth the effort) but the rock scrambling stuff???

Going high is easier in snow, harder in summer.

He had said earlier he prefers we not know exactly where he is for security reasons, so intentionally varied and delayed his upload schedule. Not sure how that squares with daily Instagram stories, though.

@@JaruWalks congrats on the AT done and two to go. You should be proud! Are you "behind" or "ahead" or on pace for the CYTC, do you think? It "feels" to me that you're behind because it's June and you just have one done, and it wasn't the longest of the three, but I know you can really fly now. Be safe, have fun, and enjoy the desert.

I didn’t ask him, but I already know. Walking barefoot connects you to the experience more. It’s like having another sense, the textures under your feet. It’s just a little sketchy because you can cut your feet. But to some people it’s worth the risk. It just doesn’t work super well for long distance travel.
