    Great job Dale , you made it look so easy although its not that hard to do. You will love your SYE it just makes the driving smoother as far as driveline vibrations due to the double cardon shaft . The really shine off road and you don't have to worry about the driveline going into a bind .Take care my friend and catch you live next Friday.

    A helpful tip, at 11:25 when you put the case back together, check to see the shaft that comes through isnt too long(I believe its called the mode shaft)
    Mine was too long for the outer housing to set down, and some other models are as well. It helps to dry fit it together first to check so you dont have to redo the rtv(like I did). You may or may not have to cut it down. I cant for the life of me recall how much but I think it's an inch.

    not criticizing but questioning- if the diameter of the new output shaft is larger than the old where speed sensor sits, wont this change were the speed sensor is clocked? as rotating the speed sensor will change how close it is to the center of the output shaft. otherwise this has been the most helpful video i can find on the subject, THANKS!!

      @nevermeanttobuild1514 2 місяці тому

      I answered my own question- the new housing is larger along with the shaft- so sensor clocks to same spot

    I did all this 3 weeks ago, but the PO installed a wide chain kit (1.25" and not 1" wide chain) so i had to put it all back together again with the old chain.

      He has a rebuild video where he replaces the 1 inch with a 1.25 inch. I'm.not sure he noticed the bigger width. Wondering if he had issues.

    • @phil9022
      @phil9022 3 місяці тому

      It seems un intentional the drive sprockets were not replaced to match the wider chain that's why I asked him if he had issues cause I got a kit and it came with the 1.25 chain when I was expecting 1 inch. Trying to figure out to run it or order the 1 inch

    • @JeepSolid
      @JeepSolid  3 місяці тому +1

      I believe the 1.25 is fine. I’ve never had issues with the wider chain and stock sprockets.

    • @phil9022
      @phil9022 3 місяці тому

      So I finally got into the case and it's looking like I'm going to order the 1 inch chain. The 1.25 fits but has the ability to make contact with the teeth that engage the mode ring. During regular driving the case is tilted back so it should not contact in that circumstance but if you were offroad driving down hill it will certainly cause some unwanted erosion on the heads of the chain pins and the mode ring engagement teeth

    • @patchrockit
      @patchrockit 3 місяці тому

      it seemed the stock style chain would not even go into the wider teeth of the 1.25" kit though so i had to reuse the loose chain. I know it's a maybe 2 hour job to swap in the vehicle, but just something i had not mentally prepared to do again. But, so is life. The next time doing anything is always faster.

    Hey Master of The Jeep!! Im rebuilding a 92 YJ 4.0 and purchased a timing chain set from Quadratec. The brand is Crown and it seems quite lose right out of the box. I also notice in your videos your timing chains look like they are double the thickness. What brand chain and sprockets do you use?
    Thanks!

    Just to clarify, if you were just swapping on the SYE, all of this could've been done without pulling the TC correct? Only reason the entire case was pulled was because you were rebuilding it at the same time?

    • @JeepSolid
      @JeepSolid  3 місяці тому +1

      It can be done without pulling, but way easier to just pull it. You do still have to split the case.

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad 3 місяці тому +1

      in my experience its way easier to pull the case and do it on the bench, unless you are very familiar with it and done it several times. It sucks laying on the ground and doing this job.(even just the sye)

    @phil9022 3 місяці тому

    In your rebuild video you installed the 1.25 chain in place of the 1 inch chain. I commented on it but no reply. Did you have issues?? I ordered a kit that came with a 1.25 chain aswell

      @JeepSolid  3 місяці тому +1

      Hey! Sorry. The chain is compatible with a few different cases. I’ve had no issues
