Short video that is straight to the point that has sufficient details. Loved your video so much I just refreshed my page and let the ads play haha.
I feel like I need to learn more about boxing
I'm standing in my boxers in my room at 3am trying to box so i can learn to defend myself. What has my life become
At least you're trying to improve yourself. Hopefully you're doing alright now.
its 2am now....lol we guys are so different yet so sameeee@@qoknf9470
I can quickly face my hand out to parry if I need. For blocking a cross to the head, I use my left glove if it's a fast one that can be tapped out, I use my left forearm if it's a hard one I can't avoid in time, or I slip/roll/etc.
This stance is for beginners. It's a very safe way to stand for offense and defense.
Yes it would. You're welcome to try whatever stance. I'm only showing the basics in this video. With time you will understand how different positions can affect your fight.
Thanks for the great video man. I've just started boxing this week and your explanations help me better understand why we need to do things a certain way! Thank you!
Thanks for this video. I'm so happy that I've subscribed to your channel as your videos are very very helpful.
Great and comprehensive video, thanks mate!
Hey man great video . There’s not a lot of people out there educating on the fundamentals to the sport of boxing like you are. Killed it 👍🏼
Exactly, time makes you more comfortable with everything!
Do what your coach says. If he insists on a stance for you, it's because you're not yet skilled enough to defend yourself. He's trying to protect you from taking damage when you're too new to fight back.
Awesome stuff bro. I am starting out, and all these little principles are very valuable to me!
Fantastic video, very helpful and informative too. Many thanks!
Good questions. Some of these will be answered in the coming videos, too!
1. You move using a variety of techniques: step-drag, pivots, shuffle, bounce-step. All depends on what is needed. For the beginner, it's a step-drag. You step out the front foot, then recover the back.
2. Front foot is planted flat for stability (recommended for beginners), but with more pressure and focus on the ball.
Thank you for sharing this with us!
thank you for great advices!
Block the right hook or overhand right by lifting your left glove.
i think the time makes you comfortable in your stance and everything you do, not just in boxing but in life too.
Really good teacher. Thanks for the instruction. I'll come back to this site more often.
will def give it a try. yesterday had my first training against a professional and i decided to go mike tyson mode with the peek a boo stance. the problem is that i have a shitty fitness level, after 1 round i was completely washed up . i was then a giant human punching ball. will go back to the basic while working my conditionning.
Thanks for this! :)
I already made one for balance drills and another with footwork tips.
good stuff
I showed his vedios in 2013 to train a team of 8 ... 7 yrs down the line showing it to my kids ..
I actually need to see how to orient myself. I get the stance but is it as simple as keeping the front foot putting towards my opponents centerline?
I will copy the back foot lift. thank a lot.
Your videos give first rate instruction and cover all the bases!! Can I ask are you wearing regular high top NIKE sneakers, or a special kind for boxing? Thank you.
Is it okay to bend the knees. My legs are way more wide. I don't tuck in the chin
johnny can you make some videos that show drills you can do to improve your balance and footwork? maybe you made some i'll look.. i know what stance to use and everything and how you're suppose to move in boxing but i can't do it the right way though lol i always get off balance when i move and punch and when i bob and weave i'm always off balance i'm trying really hard just to stay on balance when i bob and weave
^ what Devil Prince said. Use your left arm.
My right foot is my strong foot dose it stay in front of me.
how do you block the right hook then?
Basic boxing stance. Or neutral boxing stance. It's balanced and doesn't favor one side over the other. In America, sometimes they call it the "straight up stance" or the "European stance" assuming that Europeans are straight up.
I learn boxing at a boxing gym and this dude kept insisting that to defend you had to cross your arms like your about to say wakanda forever, or you put your two fists together, one behind the other and cover your chest with those two fists, the worst part was he kept saying his dad was a pro boxer
Which leg should be infront if I’m right leg dominant
So i noticed in your video you keep talking about balance. I am a beginner boxer ( have been doing it, roughly, for two weeks) and my coach keeps telling me to have the pressure on my back leg. He always says the power comes from your back leg. The trainers at my gym were all either golden glove winners, modern day competitors, or x olympic alternates. I am still getting used to my stance and wondering how to continue to improve it. So I was just wondering what your thoughts are on keeping the pressure on your back leg (is that true?) and even if I am leaning or keeping the pressure on my back leg should my torso still lean forward to counterbalance it? don't know if what I'm saying makes sense but hope you understand
leon harris You should definitely listen to your coaches. They have more experience than both you and I.
Even though he was standing with his left leg forward because he is right handed. I may have missed it but he never said which leg should be forward if you are right handed or left handed.
Can our right leg be in front or is it necessary to only have our left leg ahead always
Whats this stance called
lol nice
Whats your boxing record?
those are some big gloves man
I have thin arms...and then there's also the camera lens aspect ratio.
eu não consegui entender
Should your opponent be on that center line?
This should help against those preschoolers
Can you be my coach l want to figth welterwieght champion
nice vid are you filipuion just asking?

مشكلة كبيرة لي مايفهم الانجليزية
ah quel dommage d'être nul en anglais
I'm not trying to disrespect you or call you a hypocrite but you say not to fight with your dominant arm in front, but even though you write with your right hand, your left arm is dominant and your fighting orthodox so it means your power shot isn't your right cross but rather your left hook. You use your right cross to set up a big left hook. So if you fight with your dominant arm in front why do you tell others not to?
I'm confused. My right arm IS the dominant one. It's faster, more accurate, more high performance endurance...and also the one I write with and do everything with. My left arm might be the stronger one in certain movements but if it came down to having to throw only one punch, I would use the right hand for sure.

lol so you are ? XD nice lol
i just wanna know that does my sex life will affect my fitness.
Getting ur legs too wide will also get u punched in the balls
