- In this delightful video, Bill Mitchell tells us about some of the stories he has collected over the years about Yorkshire Dales Folk, shot in some of the most beautiful countryside, from the famous Ribblehead Viaduct to the pretty Village of Austwick.
Great tales from the Dales....loved it
Dale Piper why, thank you. I hope to of done more with Bill, but unfortunately he passed away. Will think about doing some in his memory
Sorry to hear this Martyn...please make some more videos yourself. I’m trying to record my experiences at Lartington before the Fields are totally forgotten . Hannah fortunately is well documented but Olive Field is all but forgotten.
Hi, Yorkshire Television followed Hannah for about six months, called a WInter too Many (1989) , I did manage to find a really low quality version on the internet, but Amazon are selling VHS tapes.
Brilliant stuff! Thanks for sharing. Do you know where I might find any more of Bill Mitchell's interviews?
Hi, all of Bills archives are held in Settle. They are endeavouring to digitise all his audio cassette interviews; www.settlestories.org.uk/wrmitchell
Very wholesome stuff. I would like to know what the song at the end is and if it's also composed by darryl way as accredited at the end.
@MrSparkies Track title Country Diary available from De Wolfe Music
@stonecurlew
I will pass on your details to Bill, but I do know it was a fair number of years ago.
@johnluvsluna , yup it is all the same track
Great country side, fantastic views, it's just that the Yorkie-shire 'folk' can give it out, but can't take any remarks that aren't sycophantic about them +/ the counties / Ridings.
